Christmas Eve
We dined here on Christmas eve and had a non-traditional turkey dinner for a Mexican restaurant. it was delicious and the service was very prompt. And $28 for a three course dinner with complimentary wine was a bargain!
BAJA MIGUEL'S
Baja Miguel's has been a favorite of ours for a very long time. Beautiful ambiance, excellent food, great service always welcome us. We've always enjoyed sharing Baja Miguel's with family and friends. HOWEVER, this particular day, we discovered another side of our favorite. During our meal, a middle aged (as we are) man and his party came in wearing a very tight shirt with the F*** word on front. Big, bold letters. This is a family restaurant. I complained and was told nothing they could do. We took our leftovers and left. Will not return. His rights were more important than ours. Adios, Baja Miguel's
Shocking customer service!!
Went for a cocktail. Didn't eat. Served by Raymond from Michigan who was rude, loud-mouthed and dismissive. He prepared our cocktails in plastic glasses and when we asked for proper glasses he boomed in an over loud voice designed for everyone to hear " it would have been good if you had told me that before I started ". In addition he took forever to serve my adult daughter when she asked for water. He is no asset to the South Point and clearly has no customer service skills.
Terrible food no pride
Terrible food! The rice is from bag premade probably from Sysco The salsa from a can of chopped tomatoes no flavor whatsoever The guacamole from a bag The carnitas plate came with a choice of green and red salsa terrible The green salsa tasted like Herdez brand and the red salsa from a enchilada sauce from a can The tamipiquena plate was smothered with a terrible salsa to cover the meat that was rotten Nothing was edible I wonder if any one at the staff at the restaurant eats their food and think that is great This is restaurant that you only once and leaves a bad taste in your mouth Any taqueria or taco truck will give you better quality food And who asks if you want a taco on flour tortilla? That is burrito my friend
" Meh " dining experience
Recently we were in Las Vegas for a bowling event. Most of our team stayed at South Point (I get comp'ed at Boyd properties, so I stayed at one of theirs). Since the event was at South Point, we decided to eat at Baja Miguel's. Overall impression; Meh! We showed up about 40 minutes early for our 5:45pm reservation, but the place was 3 / 4 empty so we were seated immediately. Was provided the standard chips and salsa and perused the menu. I ended up choosing the shredded chicken Chimichanga. It was huge, yet rather tasteless. It was covered with tomatillo sauce which helped, but overall I was a little disappointed. Initially the services was great. However, after a while it began to feel like we were being rushed out. Although the restaurant had begun to fill up, it was far from at capacity with a number of tables still empty. Yet, after we finished and were just chatting a bit, the server kept coming over hinting that it was time for us to leave. Overall, I don't think I'll eat here again. Adequate meal service, I guess, but far from a great dining experience. Next trip, we will try somewhere else to get our Mexican food fix.
Baja Miguels's
We met an old friend who lives in Vegas for drinks and lunch at Baja Miguel's last week. We each had a couple Margaritas (which were very good). We also had lunch as we caught up on old times. I had a delicious Chile Relleno. Good prices, great service
Terrible
The chili relent was made with an inedible chili…. the whole meal seemed like lots of interiors of tin cans. Not much flavor at all. Too bad because the service was great.
Margaritas were good
Ordered a few margaritas while waiting for our reservation at Silverado steakhouse (Don't get a steak btw). These things were great and so were the prices.
Great experience
This restaurant had great service and authentic mexican food. Our group had a favorite of foods from tacos, fajitas, burritos, and nachos. The food was well seasoned and delicious. The most shocking thing is it was very reasonable priced for it to be Vegas. I was looking for it to be expensive but it certainly wasn't. The bill was under $100 for 3 people and had plenty of leftovers.
Best margaritas ever
I stayed at the South Point for a few days for an event and got to go to Baja Miguel's once. They serve a large tortilla plater with dips before you get your food and the margaritas are to die for - if that's your thing. The service was excellent and our waiter happily transferred the rest of drinks into " to go " cups. The main courses were decent but I think the drinks and service are the reason to go back for sure.
A little overpriced, food was just average
We had a large party at Baja Miguels. The service was wonderful, but the food, in my opinion, was very average. Good margaritas, though!
Best Lunch Deal in town
Craving Mexican food? Baja Miguels has it going on, however, it's only open Wednesday-Sunday. While at Baja Miguels, be sure to check out the Lunch Specials menu from 11 a. m. - 3:30 p. m, my friend and I each had an entree and margarita on the rocks for $10.78 w / tax each.
Bland food, high prices
The food here is very bland. The first time I ordered the taco dinner and the ground beef had barely any flavor to it. The rice is different from a lot of other Mexican restaurants and I don't care for it. The second time I ordered the beef fajitas and while they do give a lot, it had no flavor either. The only thing I really enjoyed was the chips, salsa and bean dip.
BUENO BAJA MIGUELS
Although they are closed 2 days a week, the wait is worth it as the food, ambience and service are first rate. Order off the extensive menu and you will be a happy, satisfied customer bound to return again,
frequent visitor - disappointing visit
We have been several times and always been happy with the food, but this visit was not up to par. Three of the four of us did not finish our meals (2 Pollo Acuapulco and 1 Combo Platter 3). None of us our fussy eaters but the food was tasteless and some items cool instead of warm. The house frozen margarita was good, but may not to be to the liking of those that like a strong alcohol taste which is not my preference. Service was standard - courteous but not much interaction. I do realize that the Covid has changed many services, etc so hopefully this is a temporary situation.
Reasonable Price - Nice Atmosphere
First-time visit since the reopening for limited occupancy with the Covid scenario. Reservations are encouraged - not sure if they are required. Complimentary open and garage parking as well as valet service. Food has always been good on previous visits and this was as good as ever - never have been disappointed in anything I have ordered. Menu has a wide selection of items to suit any taste at reasonable prices. Portions are generous. I had a pork tamale which was unwrapped from the husk and shredded beef soft flour taco. Both were generously filled with the meats. Complimentary tortilla chips with 3 different dips (guacamole, salsa and bean). One of the best frozen margaritas as I do not like heavy alcohol, but this is just perfect for me It appears that the facility is complying to all Covid policies. Restrooms are on the lower level and they are immaculate which they always have been in the past. This restaurant is towards the rear of the facility (past the majority of slot machines and tables) on an upper level accessed either by stairs or an elevator (only holds 4 people)..
Dinner at Baja Miguels
i used a coupon for a free margarita with entree and had the enchilada / taco combination. The quality of the food was more than adequate and the basket of warm chips with salsa / beans / guacamole was a welcome appetizer (included). I've had better Mexican food, but for a hotel restaurant, this was perfectly acceptable.
Good Place for Dinner at the South Point Hotel
One of the seven nights we spent in the hotel was complimented by a nice meal at this, the only Mexican restaurant in the hotel. It was a delightful experience, the food was good and the drinks from the bar were outstanding quality. Service was fast and efficient, we would certainly return on our next trip to Las Vegas.
Better than expected..
I wasn't expecting much given a Mexican restaurant in a large hotel, but the food was good. Not top tier but good and left us nothing to complain about. We did like the chips with the guac and a couple of salsas. Nice touch! Of note, the service was really good. Quick, which was helpful for us; but in general excellent service
Good food, slow service
We ate here while staying at the South Point in Mid October. The restaurant was not crowded, service was super slow, but friendly. Food was good and there was alot of it. Not bad, but doubt I would eat here again if staying at the South Point.
Food was good, service was very slow
I think the main problem was that they only seemed to have 3 waiters for the entire restaurant during the lunch rush. It took almost 2 hours to get seated, eat, and pay. The food was good, but even if you aren't in a rush, that was super slow.
Very good Margaritas
Inside the South Point casino, away from the casino floor, this was a lovely restaurant with an authentic atmosphere. The service was friendly and quick. The food was tasty and the margaritas were good too. We had the prawn fatitas and a beef chimichanga. both were very good, the cimichanga was huge and full of beef, no fillers.
Fun place to eat
Lot's of selection and good food and prices. Hotel fun book had a free Margarita coupon. Large seating area and not that long of a wait, service is good.
Lunch Delight
This was a lovely restaurant with an authentic Mexican atmosphere. The service was friendly and quick. The food was tasty and the margaritas were delicious.
Not bad
Stopped at the bar for a light bite and had a House Chardoney for $5.50 not bad. Also had the Chips and Salsa which had some refried beans with it, that was pretty good also asked for their xtra hot Salsa which was hot! and we had the beef Quesadias which were excellent and enough for 2 people. Came back a couple of days later and had the Shrimp tacos, Chicken tacos al Carbon, and the Combo Platter all good. Not a bad place for Mexican.
Great Margaritas and the food was good too
The food was great. Not too spicy. We shared a pitcher of margaritas. The service was also good. Real Mexican Restuarant.
South Point July 1-5
Great happy hour, $3 drinks and bar plates. Family of 4 tab here was $40 some bucks for quesadillas / chips and salsa and more than a few drinks. Great value
Three bowls with chips!
Got three bowls with refried beans (hot) salsa and guacamole with chips! It was all good! Ordered the enchilada and taco with beef. It also came with Spanish rice and refried beans. It was good and filling. My wife got the two enchiladas and she really liked that too. Did I mention the free margaritas!!
Large Burrito Served Here! You Won't Leave Here Hungry!
Located inside the South Point Casino at Las Vegas Blvd and Silverado Ranch Blvd. We went here for lunch on Sunday, June 30, 2019. They serve you a basket of chips with Guacamole, Salsa & warm Refried Bean dip. We Ordered the following items: Chicken Quesadillas - $10.95 Chicken Enchiladas with Refried Beans & Tortilla Soup - $17.95 Shredded Chicken Burrito with red chile sauce, refried beans & rice - $14.95 Ice Tea - $3.25 Modelo Espcial Beer - $5.50 The food was very good and we all had items left over to take home. Total Check was $55.70, including tax (Before using our $15 off casino coupon) Service was very good and it was not crowded. Note: Menu items start around $10-$15. RATES A RETURN: YES! But, there are better Mexican restaurants in town.
Good food with nice portions
This restaurant does not rush you in and out. When you sit, you receive chips and three " dips " : salsa, guacamole, and bean. The menu has a nice variety, and the items I have had have been quite good. Wonderful service.
Decent Mexican Food
This was pretty decent food. Menu wasn't huge, but enough variety to please everyone in our party. They give you chips and salsa with guacamole and a bean dip that is very good. Margaritas were pretty good. They have specials during happy hour and on Wednesdays.
Happy hour
We went for the happy hour in the tequila bar that runs Wednesday through Sunday from 4PM to 6PM. On the first round we ordered the $3 house margaritas served in plastic cups that proved be worth no more than $3.01. We fared far better on the second round with $3 glasses of the house cabernet sauvignon. Bar bites are also discounted, but we decided to take a pass.
Always Good
Always a " go to " place when staying at South Point. I had shredded beef tacos and a pork enchilada. Buddy had the shredded chicken burrito. All were very good. Highly recommend the chara beans. Excellent chips and dips accompany the meal. SP coupon book gets you a free margarita before 7pm. Reasonable prices and good service.
Stay away !!
I recently stayed at Southpoint for the very first time and Im giving 2 stars because the room was beautiful but my shower was broken and did not drain properly so unless you took a 30 seconds shower the tub would get full and overflow, my check in process was quick and easy and the best part of my stay Jayme was friendly and sweet. I must've gambled over $1000 which is half my monthly income so I went overboard won none of my money back but had fun doing it. The problem came when I decided to join happy hour at Baja miguels & immediately got rejected for service upon questioning why I was not being served I was told my California Id was a fake by bad tender Alberto & that I couldn't be the person in the pic cuz my hair is blonde I couldn't believe it so I ask for a manager to verify it and he does, problem solved right ? WRONG ANOTHER guest suggest a shot for embarrassing me in front of everyone I agree with the comment next thing I know Romeo is all up in my face threatening to call security on me for " being disrespectful " I lost it at that point no way in hell is an employee gonna discriminate against me for my hair color then threaten me with security because I agreed with the idea of a free shot I let Romeo know he needed to check his employee not me then I asked for a refund I was fed up and ANGRY upon asking for a refund my receipt was ripped up in my face I stayed for a new one considering how they acted I couldn't be guaranteed a refund although only $6 I'll be damned if I spend a penny after that disrespect it was the worst experience I've ever endured it was completely degrading to be threatened with security for NOTHING it hit rock bottom for me as I've lost many of my people to the hands of senseless police violence one being my brother. I immediately confided in the beverage manager Rick who assured me there would be some resolution but unfortunately I was never contacted and the issue was never resolved so I am left with a bitter taste about this place. It was after this that I noticed there were very many minorities there to begin with I would have been better off in my timeshare across the street or a Hilton. I'm disappointed because I thought I found my home away from home but this incident was too damaging to sweep under the rug I'm very disappointed in management and the Baja Miguel's team. Also my husband is in the Air-Force literally came home from deployment that weekend we just wanted to have a mini get away but this experience truly ruined our stay why on earth would someone w / military Id try to bring an underaged woman to a bar? It was so senseless so disrespectful and if I could have my money back I put into that place I would and never look back waste waste waste and clearly management is no better STAY AWAY ESPECIALLY IF YOU FIGHT TO SERVE THIS COUNTRY YOU DESERVE BETTER
Good food, huge portions, a bit pricey
I know, you're in Las Vegas and everything costs more. The portions were fairly large and I hated leaving almost half of my meal, but with no refrigerator or microwave, didn't have a choice. The whole beans (charro?) were delicious. I would eat here again but only if sharing a meal.
Busy but good service, good food
We were invited by friends to dine here. We ate modestly, or tried too. Plates were generous and food was good. It was busy for a Thursday night but we engaged in a lot of table talk and did not take note of delays in food service.
Disappointing, won't go back
First off, we waited much longer for our food than necessary. Others who ordered after us got their food before we did. Not sure why it took so long to just give us a bowl of soup and a salad. The soup was cold and the fajita salad was cold and there was barely any meat on the salad. Too pricey for what you get. For some reason, they don't do take out so you get the food on a plate and then transfer it into a box. Apparently, there's a special license you have to have for to go orders. I remember this place being good several years ago but it has gone down in value and service. Disappointed
Good Food
Very good food, large portions. Restaurant service was really good, especially for our large party. The service in the Tequila Bar was awful. The bartender was more interested in the hockey game. I had to leave my seat at the bar and call to him TWICE to get his attention. Otherwise, a very nice experience.
Hidden Gem
This is a hidden gem of a restaurant in the South Point Casino. Great margaritas and delicious food.
Jose' at its best
Made reservations for here while staying st Southpoint Casino / Hotel. Best choice so far! We were treated like royals and were seated promptly. Chips, salsa, bean dip, Avacado dip brought to table included! We had chimichanga, and Chicken Quessadas. they were awesome. Oh did we mention the Margaritas? OMG. They were awesome. Huge and very tasty. Highly recommended! Enjoy.
In for USBC Open Championship
Great service (we had a group of eight people) and large meal portions. Margaritas for $3 are excellent.
Hit the spot
We were craving Mexican food after our event ended at South Point and since we were staying at the hotel, had a coupon for a free margarita each at Baja Miguel's. We arrived around 7pm on Sunday evening and were told there would be a 45 minute wait despite open tables and not too many people in the waiting area (bar) outside of the restaurant. Luckily, we were seated after maybe 15 minutes. We had our coupons ready and our great waitress gave us our choices (rocks / frozen, lime / strawberry) despite the coupon saying frozen lime only. Surprisingly, they were really good margaritas too. Every table gets chips alongside a small helping of salsa, bean dip and guacamole. Being from Texas, this is impressive. The salsa was okay, bean dip was basically just refried beans and the guac was good. One of us got the " make your own combo " with a couple of cheese chile rellenos and a cheese enchilada, rice and beans. The other got the chicken enchiladas mole with rice and beans. The rellenos were quite good. The mole was very, very mild compared to others I've had, but with three enchiladas on that plate, it was a great deal. Surprisingly, the refried beans and rice were quite good. We had to take a box to go and were very happy with our meal and attentive service. We'd go back if we stay at South Point again.
Excellent Food on the South End of Town
We met some friends at Baja Miguel's Mexican Restaurant upstairs in the South Point Hotel, Casino. They picked an excellent location. The menu did have standard Mexican style dishes but these tasted great. The service was good and I just can't say enough about the food. Our table only had tea or water to drink so I didn't sample any of the drinks. I will say that one of our group ordered fajitas. It was enough for two. Fortunately, she's local and could take it home. Portion sizes did run large but I still finished it without feeling stuffed. I know this isn't the only Baja Miguel's so maybe I'll try a different one next time.
It was our last night in Vegas
There were 13 in our group all having different entrees. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was an excellent server. It's sometimes hard to have that many people in one group with only 1 waitress, but she was awesome. She also had several other tables.
Have visited on a number of occasions. Each time, was pleased
I visited for just the bar as well as ordering food as well. Like this place. Clean, good service and good value. Will return.
Great Value
Party of 12 dropped in for a late lunch and all ordered the lunch special which at $9.99 reminded us of the days of the $2.99 steak dinner in LV. This special included a margerita and soup along with enough entree' for two. Great service. We don't often get down to the South Point but I'd consider the trip again just to take advantage of the lunch special.
Great lunch special
We've never been disappointed at Baja's at anytime, but the lunch special is over the top great. A great Marguarita, Fidio soup and entree all for a great price, plus you get their taco chips and dips when you sit down. In addition, Always excellent friendly service!
Fabulous Service but disappointed by the food
Showed up at about 8 w / o a reservation and was told 35 minute wait. Turned out to about 25. Host gladly accommodated the request for a booth. Chips and salsa appeared shortly thereafter, Chips were a little greasy to the touch, the accompanying salsa and bean dip were enjoyable but the guacamole had an unusual flavor. When I remarked about this the same team member that delivered the dish the response received was unexpected. " That was first time i heard that, " and then he went back to folding napkins. The waitress was great, she took our order promptly and it arrive in minutes. I ordered the chicken enchilada mole. Having had a mole once previously and recalling I enjoyed it I was anticipating a fine birthday dinner. Unfortunately the mole taste was off to me and the whole dish was just lacking texture Flour tortillas smothered with mole sauce filled with shredded chicken. I have to take part of the blame, I did know it was shredded chicken which does not add texture so had I thought about it I might have just ordered a burrito. I literally dug the chicken out of the tortillas and that was my dinner. The waitress was surprised and when asked I shared my thoughts but never asked for anything as i had eaten all the chicken. She insisted on bringing the manager and she again listened and further insisted on comping the meal. I was grateful for the unnecessary step as I have to take responsibility for knowing what I am ordering. Please note there was a fairly full restaurant and people appeared to be enjoying guacamole and their dinners so I am likely an outlier who may not be as well versed in Mexican cuisine as I should be. Again, the staff overall were the saving grace of this birthday visit to Baja Miguels, but I won't go back.
Fantastic Staff
Enjoyed a dinner date. All staff friendly and helpful. Efficient and attentive. Liked the chips and salsa brought to table. Fajitas came out sizzling but a little chewy.... made me wonder if it was rewarmed. Decent value for money.
Excellent Mexican Food with Great Waitresses
They have a HUGE menu, large portions and great margurittas. The waitresses were especially nice and helped us with the menu selections. Lots of seating.
Even if business does not take me to Southpoint, I will seek to eat at this restaurant again in Las Vegas!!!!
Six of us ate at this restaurant and we ALL had a great experience and dinner! I had the salmon with crab over the top with butter sauce (zucchini and mexican rice on side). Mine dinner was delicious! It was so good that I went back the next night to have it again! The chips and salsa, guacamole, and bean dip are delicious!!!
A Unique Place to Celebrate Thanksgiving!
I never thought of going to a Mexican restaurant on Thanksgiving, but we went here and were very pleased!! They offered a traditional Turkey dinner which was excellent. Servers were very attentive and friendly; prices extremely reasonable for a holiday!
A Great Mexican Restaurant
This restaurant has a huge amount of selections, but their specials can't be beat. They include soup and a drink (such as a margerita) plus choices for the entree. Just don't try to visit on Monday or Tuesday as they are closed.
Hidden Treasure
A pleasant surprise that make my day better. This restaurant is honestly the best thing in South Point. The food was excellent and the service even better. I was really lucky when I got my server Erika and Diosdado was helping her with the floor. They are a great team taking care of the customers needs. I'm really impressed with this restaurant and they are the only reason I'll ever be in that area but that is another review. I got the Steak with Camarones and the Tacos Del Mar. And is worth to mention the Guacamole that is served with the chips.
Food!
Love this place so I'm staying at this hotel. Great food, reasonably priced, great ambience and chips salsa and Guacamole are amazing. As for the extra hot salsa and you won't be disappointed.
Vegas vacation
Got in Saturday night and we were tired from the drive. This place was close but didn't see it was TexMex food. It was alight. The rice was a little hard and the beans were good. Had the enchiladas which I like to try to try out a new restaurant. It was alright.
Slow service, hair in food
I have eaten here before and the service is always been good. The night we were there we were not acknowledged by our waiter or busser for between 10 and 15 minutes after we were seated, despite them looking directly at us repeatedly. We nearly left as it was plain rude! But it was late and we were very hungry. Our waiter finally came by and took our drink order. No apology for the the wait. The busser finally brought us chips and dips, after our waiter came by. Again, terrible service! We ordered food, which was good, until I found not 1 but 3 hairs in my rice and beans! I asked for a replacement plate and was brought one, but no offer was made to comp. any of my meal. I realize now I should not have been charged for it. To end the night on another bad note, we were waiting for another 10 -15 minutes for our check and then no one would pick it up to run my credit card. After another 15 minutes I used all my cash to pay the bill and the waiter finally showed up! I left more of a tip than he deserved because we just wanted to leave and did not want to wait for change! I have never experienced such rude behavior and poor service with not even an apology!
Lovely Food
Visited this place on the last night of our stay in Vegas, as we were staying at Grandview, we had coupons for free margarita with an entree... we ordered burittos... the taste, the presentation and the portion was amazing... we absolutely loved this place... been here 6yrs ago as well snd it was just as nice!! Highly recommend if in the area! Oh! Not forgetting the Flan for dessert... that was lovely too :)
The food is amazing
Went to dinner here while in Vegas. Our waiter was really attentive to us. The food was very flavorful and filling. Great place to eat at Southpoint casino.
Massive servings, outstanding service and reasonable prices
Located in the South Point Casino on the second floor, Baja Miguel's has a large bar area outside the dining room. Service was outstanding as our waitperson appeared immediately to take our drink order and another server appeared with a bowl of tortilla chips and an gratis selection of guacamole, salsa and hot bean dip. The Frozen Margaritas were excellent and our bowl of chips was filled a second time without even asking. The selection of menu items is extensive and our selected entrees of an order of enchiladas and another of a chicken mango salad were massive and delicious and the prices very reasonable.
Good Mexican food
We enjoyed all the food except the desert (My favorite Part) I had the refried ice cream. I would it to be hard to eat and more coconut than I like. It was a different style than I have had before. I was looking forward to the ice cream. The waitress was great and funny, our interactions during the meal we great. She was the best waitress we had during this trip.
Free Chips and Salsa with Guacamole and Beans were great!
We ate here on our first night at arriving at the South Point Casino. The restaurant was hopping and we got our drinks and order in fairly quick. The meals were awesome... Combo chicken and beef fajitas and shredded chicken burrito with green sauce. The margaritas were OK and the wait staff very attentive. Definitely going back here the next stay!
Two item lunch special with free margarita
Also got free chips with guacamole, beans and salsa Choice of tacos, enchiladas, chile relleno, and Chiquitos Served with with rice and beans Fast friendly service Located on second level of South Point Casino / Hotel
One of the best deals in town
Me and wife stumbled upon this restaurant a few years ago while playing at south points casino as we were heading to the parking garage we saw poster with daily specials we thought we should try it. Being from California we were skeptical of Mexican food when traveling our first impressions were that the food was fantastic and worth the price we also found that there rarely is a wait because the restaurant is located up stairs. If you're looking for a value for your money and a quality meal this is place for you.
Awesome Deal
Today is my last day of vacation before I head back home tonight. I used my coupon that entitled me to have a Free margarita with my meal. I ordered a mixed combo of three items and it also included, rice, beans, chips, salsa, and guacamole. Wow, my meal was delicious and my margarita was strong enough to keep me in my happy place! I want to thank my server, Martha, for the excellent customer service she gave me. I highly recommend this very affordable restaurant!!
Good for what it offers
Good place to grab a quick lunch with really nice happy hour offers. Not the most amazing mexican place but value for money is definitely really good
Great service and good food
Must try when staying at the South Point! Food is very fresh and affordable. The staff is very engaging and friendly.
Always a good choice
Had facials at the spa inside the South Point, so decided to have lunch at Baja Miguels. Many choices at the South Point, but I wanted Mexican food. The chips required additional salt. Salsa kinda runny. Good bean dip, good guacamole. The Dos Equis Amber was cold. Service was very attentive. My Ceviche was, as always, excellent. Absolutely excellent. My friend, however, had the Taquitos and said there was only a bite of beef in each one, the rest was pastry shell; " almost nothing inside them; they were practically empty; that's why I wasn't full. " Been here many times; expect to return many times. It's not the best Mexican food in town, but it is good and the service is good and the prices are reasonable.
Friday night Fun and Friends
Run, do not walk to this gem of a restaurant! Cadillac Margaritas, and probably one of the best Appetizers I've ever had, the Avocado Baja Miguel is to die for! Avocado stuffed with chicken salad, can you say Ooh LaLa?! We chose to stay at the bar Instead of being seated because our bartender Adam was a delight to talk to and it's very crowded inside. This place is loud and hopping but for our group of 4 in our 50's the atmosphere was perfect. Great food, drinks and VALUE!
My Wife Says It's The Best Guacamole She's Ever Had
Baja Miguel's is located on the second floor (above Don Vito's Italian Restaurant) at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and is open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner. My wife says the (complimentary) guacamole is the best she's ever had in Vegas, Mexico or South America. The food is tasty and nicely presented, the service has always been friendly and attentive, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity.
Excellent Price Excellent Food
What a great deal Wednesday- Sunday 11 am till 5 pm daily special free frozen margarita, soup choice of 2 out 4 choices main dish comes with Mexican rice and beans. All for $9.95 and we had chips salsa, refried beans and guacamole all served for free. Excellent tasting food and quick service huge plates wow I was impressed cause going down to the strip has been extremely disappointing with price and quality. Thank you Baja Miguels for providing a meal with an excellent Price and excellent taste quality! A++++
Great lunch special
The restaurant has a great lunch special running until 3:00. A margarita, soup and choice of two items from a list plus rice and beans. Of course chips and three dips are included. The food is excellent.
Pick another restaurant in the hotel
Mexican restaurants are our favorites & we arrived on Monday and waited for this restaurant to open on Wednesday (closed Monday-Tuesday). What a disappointment. The chips were stale, salsa bland and the food was dry. My husband had the tacos al carbon & I had the carnitas, which were dry & full of fat. What a disappointment. Save your money & ho elsewhere.
Good food
We stopped here the first night we were in Vegas for dinner. Must admit, the offer for a free margarita with an entrée was the reason we went. The food was good, not great, but the service was good and it was nice that they offered more than salsa with their chips.
Best service and food in vegas
We reserved a table for Valentine's Day for 5:45. We got to the restaurant a little early and they were able to seat us right where we wanted. Three different people are evidently assigned to making sure you get the best experience, one being your waiter / waitress. We ordered combinations with enchiladas, toquitos, and chili renois. Of course, like most Mexican restaurants, we were served chips as an hordeorve, but these were so much better than normal. Of course they were fresh, but the salsa, bean dip, and guacamole made it special. Our margaritas were delicious as was all of our meal.
Large Tasty Portions
If you have a taste for chips and salsa as well as a margarita this is a stop you must make. Once you are there you'll see the plates of food and then you'll order dinner. The food is very good, price is excellent. You'll likey.
As good of Mexican food as it gets!
Great Mexican restaurant on 2nd floor of casino. Food was great with large portions! If you stay at hotel they will give you a funbook with a coupon for a free margarita. Use it as the drink was pretty good to go along with the food! I had a chicken buritto and my wife had chicken flajitas. Both were excellent and huge portions! Perfect! Can't go wrong here! Very nice atmosphere decorated in Mexican attire. If you like Mexican food you will love this place for the quality and the price! Go and enjoy!
Good food, OK service, loud environment
I have a mixed impression about Baja Miguel's in the South Point Hotel / Casino. It started with trying to make a reservation for 10 people by a friend who was staying at the hotel. He called the hotel reservation line who transferred him to the restaurant who promptly said they don't take reservations and hung up. She didn't even bother to ask how many in the party. My friend called the reservation line back and complained. It turns out they do take reservations for party's of eight of more. They had the restaurant call my friend back, apologize, and accept the reservation. Not a great start. Our party arrived on time at 6PM on St, Patrick's day and were ushered right in and seated. OK, now it's getting better. The service was OK, not exceptional. But they were crowded. As with all Mexican restaurants the table was given chips and salsa, except included with the salsa was freshly made guacamole. A very nice touch. The menu has a nice variety of traditional and non-traditional Mexican dishes. I had the Parrillada del Norte which included adobo pork, herb marinated chicken breast, and carne asada. The flavor of the dish was wonderful. Other dishes ordered at the table included the full carne asada, the chicken quesadillas (from the appetizers but big enough for a main dish) and the taco salad. In all, no one had a complaint about the flavors, quality, or quantity of the food. The one major negative point is how loud the environment is. The restaurant is located on a mezzanine above the casino floor. The mezzanine is actually a bar that serves as a waiting area for both Baja Miguel's and Primarily Prime Rib. I guess if you are seated deep within the restaurants the noise from the bar would not be an issue but our table was fairly close to the front. There were times when it got so loud that I could not hear the person sitting right next to me, I would strongly suggest you ask for a table towards the rear of the restaurant to minimize the noise factor. Overall I would have no problem eating here again. The quality of food more than makes up for the customer service and environment issues.
Great Food and Value
Baja Miguels is a wondeful spot when you want good Mexican food. The margaritas are delicious with many choices of flavors and tequilas. There is a Happy Hour in the bar area that offers $3 margaritas. I only wish they were open every day! They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Excellent food and free margaritas
The food is hot and well-prepared. The waiters are efficient and have helpers for drinks, chips and salsa, and it is clean and popular with locals as well.
Good close Mexican food!
A great Mexican restaurant close to The Grandview. We were craving Mexican and they came through! We had a pitcher of margaritas, chips and a trio of salsa, beans and guacamole to start and all of our entrees were very good. We would go again, hard to find good Mexican in Las Vegas.
WHAT?! No Queso!?!?!?!?!
What Mexican restaurant doesn't have queso?!??!? This one! I LOVE Mexican; but this place did not measure up. We showed up for a late dinner around 8 PM. There were four other tables seated when we arrived. It took 20 minutes to get our waiter to take our order. Menu is limited and doesn't contain a lot of the normal TexMex staples you see at other Mexican restaurants. Not one of the better Mexican places I've eaten at.
Will try Mexican next time!
We were staying at the South Point and having been disappointed in previous years with the hassle of travelling to different hotels on Christmas Day we decided to have our Christmas Lunch in this restaurant as all of the restaurants in the hotel were offering similar traditional Christmas fare. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived at 1pm but it did become much busier while we were eating. The waiter brought us a bowl of tortilla chips and dips which I must say were delicious. The wine and margarita were both very nice. We both chose a salad starter followed by the Turkey and trimmings. The main course was good without being great and the dessert was the same. Okay I know it's a Mexican restaurant but we wanted the simple traditional choice. The service was good but the waiting staff appeared to be subdued somewhat - perhaps disappointed that they had to work on Christmas Day? Overall a pleasant meal and good service. Would I go back? Yes - looking forward to a Mexican meal next time.
Ok Margarita
The Margarita makes the Mexican Food. And I am probably spoiled on Tex Mex so the food and drink was a touch bland for me. However, that could of been that night, and I would definitely recommend because I will go back. Be aware, they are closed at the beginning of the week.
Worst Meal in Memory
We were staying at the South Point and a Mexican sounded wonderful. It wasn't service was surly at best and the food overcooked and tasteless. That the Tortilla soup was the meal highlight is disappointing I ordered the Chicken Balestano described as a lightly breaded chicken breast with cheese, ham, and peppers. That it arrived minutes after the soup was the first warning. This thing had been sitting under the warming lights for far too long. The breading had long since fallen off the now overcooked chicken breast, the ham, cheese and peppers failed to make a noticeable appearance. The only reason it was not sent back was A. It had been a very long day, and B. the waitress who acted throughout the meal like she wanted to be somewhere else had apparently found that place and was no where to be seen until she dropped off the check.
Bland food, Slow service
When we FINALLY were helped- because their service was SLOW, they brought us chips salsa that was too tomato-ish, like it came from a jar, bean dip was pretty good and gucamole that if you doc it up it's okay. We had the lunch special which had a free margarita..... " where's the tequilla?! " The chicken flautas were fried too hard and the meat was bland, so was the tacos and enchiladas. As we walked out I saved a couple from wasting time and money.
Best Mexican food in VEGAS
Loved the margaritas and the free guacamole, salsa, bean dip when you are seated. I had pork enchilad and loved them.
GREAT value in Southpoint
Get a lunch special for sure!!! Tequila choices rock too.... Try their happy hour if ya can.... and great section to people watch
Excellent food & Generous Portions
My wife, daughter and I went here for dinner one night and we were not disappointed. Two of the entrees came with a tortilla soup and that along with the chips, salsa, guacamole, and bean dip they put on the table kind of took care of our appetite. By the time the entrees arrived we just picked at them a little and took them to go. But we enjoyed them the next day. The carnitas were especially tasty, but all the food was very good. Plus, we had coupons for free margaritas with the purchase of an entree and they were pretty big and tasty as well. Altogether a very good meal (or two).
Mexico Ole
Wer es Mexikanisch liebt ist hier genau richtig eine gut alternative zum nicht besonders gutem Buffet.
Mexican fair!
great Mexican theme eatery in South Point love there Guacamole and free chip for starters I usually have Fajitas!
Not as good as hole in the wall Mexican food
This is your typical NON-hole-in-the-wall mexican food. The meal was decent, I had a Carne Asada with enchilada plate that was OK. My son had a grease drenched taquito plate. Slads looked OK as well
Excellent service and good portions
Restaurant is on the second floor. The service was excellent and the food portions are large. My wife and I not only had a good dinner, but there was enough left over for us to have the rest for lunch the next day. This is one of the better tasting Mexican restaurants in the area away from the Strip. There is an elevator or one can take the stairs to get to the reception area for the restaurant.
Amazing food!
This place was awesome! I would recommend you go. They gave chips salsa and guac for free! It's never heard or or have seen a place that does that. Was reasonably priced. I'll be going back again tonight for dinner!!
Taco Bell would be a better choice!
The only thing you need to know is this place serves prepackaged frozen food and tries to pass it off as authentic. The beans came from a can, the guacamole came from a plastic bag and the taquitos came out of a box. PLEASE DO NOT WAST YOUR MONEY HERE!
Great Mexican food and margaritas!
Enjoyed a New Year's Day dinner at Baja Miguel's. Everyone in our party of four enjoyed the good food, reasonable prices, and attentive service. We had a coupon from the South Point Casino for a free margarita with a dinner entree, so that made it even better! Give them a try!
ok for Mexican food, but service makes it great!
It was not my favorite Mexican food, but the service made me feel like I was in a 5star restaurant deserving of white linen and black tie! I literally " plopped " down in the restaurant as soon as I got to the hotel. I was so tired and hungry that I didn't put much thought into my dinner choice. I DID eat it all. I chose a glass of wine and was not pleased. The waitstaff was quick to help me choose another wine which I loved. I would certanly visit them again if in the area!
Too much food!!!
My wife and I decided to go to Baja Miguels during our last trip to Vegas. It was one of the better decisions we made. The food was awesome and the service was the same. They start you out with chips and three different kinds of dip..... almost too much to eat before the meal. They also make a great margarita, salted perfectly on the rim. The combo plates are to die for, you can pick and chose just about anything you might want to try. Well worth the money, we will for sure go back next time we are in Vegas.

Not bad
Service was ok, it was busy and he seemed stressed. We did get right in though. The food was average but the price was great.
Nice Lunch spot
DH and I enjoyed a filling lunch here yesterday. Didn't need dinner last night! Greeted and seated right away. Had our choice of table or booth. Server came for drink orders and basket of chips with refried bean, salsa and guacamole. We ordered the special of the day, Enchiladas Suisse. One with beef, one with chicken. Couldn't finish it, but wanted too!! Wish we had such a nice restaurant at home!
Excellent food
Everytime we go here, it seems to get better. We keep coming back, year after year. And the drinks are great too.
Yummy Margaritas
Enjoyed our Mexican food here. The discount booklet included a coupon for a free margarita! Yum! Would definitely return.
What kind of taco place is closed on Taco Tuesday!
Family wanted to eat here originally but they were closed. If in one of the biggest tourist spots, why close? Your profit loss, not mine. Don't recommend trying to eat here on a Monday or Tuesday cause they are not open
Not Mexican
I was disappointed by the food at Baja Miguels. Coming from California I was hoping to find authentic Mexican food but was served rather bland versions of hotel food.
