Very Good Food and Service

Excellent food, homely service
We were really happy with our dinner. ordered a plate of mixed koobideh. which is two sheekhs of chicken and beef kebabs served with herbed buttered rice. it was super filling and delicious. the soup ash rishteh (a very thicj soup of green herbs and lentils) was different and very filling, almost like a meal in itself. the falfels were like little pingpong balls, super light, crisp and delightfully flavoured with coriander. the chef served us a complimentary serving of her chery rice, which was again, a treat to the tastebuds
Yummy Food in an Unassuming Restaurant
I looked on tripadvisor for a place to eat lunch with friends in Huntington Beach. I wanted healthy food as one of the friends just had a triple bypass, and I wanted some place where it wasn't noisy so that we could hear the story about our friends health scare. As usual the tripadvisor reviews were dead on. The restaurant looks small from the outside but there are quite a few tables inside, plus seating outside. We sat outside as it was a beautiful sunny day. The service was very prompt. I am not sure if the woman who served us was an owner, but she was very attentive. She recommended the Chicken Barq. We all ordered the same thing. My friends had salad, grilled vegetables, basmati rice and chicken. I had hummus with flat bread, yogurt, and chicken. The chicken was very moist. I loved the hummus as it wasn't too garlicky. The price is a little more expensive than what I would normally spend for a strip mall fast food type restaurant, but it was well worth it. The quality of the food is excellent, and the portions are large. I had enough food left over for my husband's lunch the next day. We were so glad we decided to forego the craziness of beachside Huntington Beach and enjoy a beautiful day sitting outside in the sun, enjoying good company, and excellent food.
Healthy and Bomb!
This is my spot! I had the Chicken Koobideh combo with rice, a side of salad covered in balsamic dressing, and hummus with pita bread. De-li-cious! My new weekly joint! Felt healthy and light. Whether with friends, on a date, or you're solo dolo, I recommend! It is a little hard to find.. since it is located right next to HoléMolé within the Vista Paint plaza.. but when you walk inside it's really cool and welcoming.. Pricewise, it is on point. It's not every day you get to have fresh made cuisine that's healthy and flavorful. Overall, 5 stars!
Hole in the wall gem
Our first visit and we were impressed by the food and cleanliness of the restaurant There were several menu items and side dishes to choose from. Entrees are prepared when you order so you must be patient. My Lamb Shank Bowl over Jasmati rice was tender and flavorful. My wife's Beef and Lamb Gyro Bowl was also delicious according to her. Free off-street parking available along with outdoor patio seating.
Outstanding people and food!
The food here is authentic and so amazing, you literately are speechless. The people who own and work here are wonderful, they treat you like family and are very generous. The Persian ice cream and tea are absolutely perfect flavors.
Small place with the best food!
The food at this restaurant was amazing, but the funny thing is that even though it says authentic Persian food, everyone in the kitchen was talking Spanish. Regardless of that discrepancy I loved the place!
Great Gyro Sandwich and Bit of Persia
Me and the mister enjoyed dinner here tonight. We had keboodieh wrap and gyro wrap. Both were yummy but the gyro was better! Was surprised to find this jewel in a strip mall next to Vista Paints. We will be going back soon.

Friends took us to this place. Food is fresh and delicious. Prices are fair for the quality of food served. Would come again or take out.
Really Tasty Persian Food
I was looking for somewhere to grab a bite while getting my oil changed at the Nissan dealer next door. Saffron Grill has a well priced lunch special that included rice, salad, chicken skewer and more. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. Looking forward to going again in the future!
The best Persian food for the price
I had dinner twice in this restaurant, coincidentally both times when I was on the road going back home to San Diego. I am not a novice as far as Persian food goes: we have several Persian restaurants in San Diego, however nowhere the food tasted as fresh and authentic as in " Saffron Grill ". I was particularly fond of their version of a traditional Persian soup called ash reshteh and their selection of grilled meats. The service was attentive and polite but not sticky and the price was very reasonable.
Excellent Persian Food
The restaurant is located in a strip mall. The interior is pretty basic. This is a mom and pop operation. They use recipes from Iran. The stews are unusual. I also like the beef or chicken koobideh. This is a kabob. They come with salad, pita bread, basmati rice, grilled tomato and grilled jalapeño. All very tasty. The service was great. If you ever want to try Persian food, this is the place.
Fun Find
The Saffron Grill is tucked in a strip mall off of Slater near the HB police substation. Not too appealing.. but get in there. Sit in the patio or inside to enjoy yummy Mediterranean fare. Lamb shank was tender and tasty. Stews are well seasoned, wraps are fresh and varied.
Booth seats not fasten to floor and unstable; food and service average
Restaurant appears thrown together. Prices are higher than other similar locations. Food was good but not outstanding. Service was average. Went there because we had a coupon from a local mailer and determined it wasn't worth using... But decided to try it anyway. Place just had an uninviting / unwelcoming feel to it. No plans on returning.

Tasty, good portions, quick friendly service, and very fair prices. Yum. Best middle eastern food I've ever had.
