Horrific Person whom you will want to avoid, RH
Nice enough place, BUT! Nary would I recommend this park to my worst enemy. All due to the attitude of RH and her beaten down partner KH. Recently added to the wall where business is conducted is signage telling all persons there that any complaints henceforth will be met with a $10.00 fine / fee. Also there has appeared a sign that states, " Service will and can be refused for any reason! " Unhappy people should not be managing property that could be a happy place to reside or stop at even briefly. Enjoyment and happiness are certainly not how I'd describe the temperament and mood of Canyon West.
Rude
Guess I should have read reviews!! Paid for site after office closed, And was not told check out time Is 11am, nor is it on website. Asked about laundry room at 915am, was locked when I tried it earlier. Was rudely told it is open, and was told check out is at 11am! I asked if we could stay a little longer as we have kids taking collage courses and taking tests! Yes if you want to pay for another full day, and if I asked at check in it would have been different. Obviously there are PLENTY of sites vacant. This is not some kind of resort!! There are nasty rigs and camper Burned to the ground in a site!!
I would not recommend
This is a no-frills park in a beautiful setting. It's probably ok for a few days or an overnight. The managers are some of the rudest people I've ever met. Their attitude seems to be that they are doing you a favor letting you stay there. There is no cable or wifi, but I think it's the most inexpensive RV park in Kingman. There are a lot of long-term residents and some of their rigs look pretty rough. Due to the rudeness and aggressiveness of the managers, campers / residents / guests do not socialize with eachother. This is different from any other RV park I've stayed at. There are no events or even common spaces to encourage socializing. Also it's so unpleasant to run into the staff I think people just stay inside. It's cheap and the surroundings are beautiful, but may not be worth the unpleasantness.
rockhounding
Poor location. Unfriendly staff. No showers, restrooms or Wi-Fi but still charged $35 per night. Parked us by highway with car parked outside the fence even though they had empty spots further indie the park. Very noisy with trains, Route 66 traffic and interstate.
Stop for one night
Pros: Close to I40 and Hwy93 Cons: Located between I40 and railroad tracks, staff was not very friendly, we were given a spot where our tow car was outside the fence boundary, several long term rvs some of which are in very poor condition. Three pictures included with review.
Stay in the Canyon
The RV park is located in a beautiful canyon. It is a basic park without frills. It does not have a pool or hot tub. It does have full hook ups available. There are train tracks. nearby and trains do run by frequently day and night. There are laundry facilities. The hosts are friendly and will try to help you in any way they can. We had a problem with the electrical hook up and they refunded half our rental. The park was relatively quiet and we enjoyed our stay. The hosts have tried for over a year to get Google to correct the directions which are wrong and cause confusion. I advise you to call when you are near or in Kingman and hey will cheerfully give you directions even if you call three times as we did.
