About Lighthouse Lane Cottages
We stumbled upon this property on a day trip to Peggy's Cove to watch the crashing waves in October 2016. We immediately fell in love with the location and after many months of planning, meetings and renovations our long time dream of opening a vacation rental has come true! We are incredibly excited to welcome our guests to stay in one of the most beautiful places in Canada. Our five cottages and one suite are currently undergoing extensive renovations in 2017 and are tastefully decorated. Making the most of the sweeping ocean views and providing our guests with the most comfortable beds and furnishings was our top priority. Whether you will be staying for two nights or two months we hope you will find everything necessary for a truly enjoyable, relaxing stay. A great overnighter
We stayed in the 2 bed 2 bath cottage. Very nicely done. Beautiful setting. Only issue was figuring out the TV system. Also when we turned on the heater the TV froze! A couple plugs did not work so a couple of minor issues. If you do not eat out at every meal shop before you arrive. There is a big superstore In upper tantallon 20 min away. There is no food store in Peggy's cove area except for a " market " that carried aisles of chips and little else. Luckily we always travel with basics so we were good.
Lovely and convenient
What a lovely place. Colin had all we needed for a lovely stay. Coffee pot, coffee, refrigerator & microwave & even a toaster! No breakfast places nearby so the toaster was a blessing. The view was wonderful and close to Peggy's Cove. Thanks Colin!
Sublime views
Spent 3 days visiting the area around Peggy's Cove and stayed at Lighthouse Cottages while visiting Lunenburg, Chester and Peggy's Cove. The Cottages are very rustic with sublime views of St. Margaret's Bay. Very nice room with a fridge, microwave and dishes. Nice simple meals because if you are doing a 5 week trip around the Maritime's you will end up in the poor house if you pay for all your meals. Very comfortable bed and hosts Deena and Colin were very accommodating helping me with my mobility issues.
Our favourite East Coast spot!
Our recent stay at the Bluefin cottage was perfect! We appreciate how much the owners love this place - it's shown in every detail! The little touches make this place so cozy and so special. There wasn't one thing that we thought, " geez, we wish we had.... " they have thought of everything. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. The deck was perfect for sitting and watching the sunset over the ocean. To make the deck experience even better there were cushions for the adirondacks, as well as a heater if it got chilly. The owners also made a great recommendation for a birthday dinner out - Rhubarb Restaurant just down the road. We can't wait to return to the Lighthouse Lane Cottages!
Four Nights Wasn't Long Enough!
Charming, clean, comfy cabin on Indian Harbor at Peggy's Cove. Spectacular view of water from deck and inside the cabin. Explored this area from Halifax to Lunenburg (all awesome) and still grateful to come " home " to this special place. Enjoyed local restaurants, but even better was preparing fresh seafood from the market up the road and enjoying it in our cottage. Kitchen had everything we needed, including a big pot. Evenings on the deck were quite special. We were lucky to have a near full moon. Owners Colin and Dena were welcoming and helpful but also respected our space. Felt like we've known them a while. Felt welcome with our dog, too.
Absolutely Breathtaking
Hi. In sept my mom and I did a bucket list trip to Peggy's cove. We had such a great time despite Hurricane Lee. The hosts Deena and Colin are amazing and so is lighthouse lane cottages. We stayed in Oyster cottage for four days. It is a one bedroom one bath cottage. We had a full kitchen and amenities. The views are outstanding and close to restaurants and Peggy lighthouse. Our favourite place to eat was the Rhubarb, my mom loved the seafood chowder. I would highly recommend these cottages. Thank you Colin and Deena for a fantastic holiday. Kim and Marilyn
A Hidden Gem
Just returned home from our vacation in Nova Scotia. We stayed at this property and absolutely loved it! Our cabin was perfect for our needs, clean and beautifully decorated, and had all we needed... and the views from the deck, just wow! The cottages are in a fantastic location, close to restaurants / cafe's and of course the world famous Peggy's Cove which we walked our furbaby to every morning (less than a 30 min walk) stopping at the Cafe there for breakfast (dogs welcome on the patio area outside) or just a coffee for the walk back. We totally recommend these cottages and can't wait to come back!
A perfect weekend!
We just got back from Crab Cottage. We absolutely loved it! We spent 2 nights and had wished we had booked 3. It was a staycation trip since we live in Halifax. The cottage is so cute and cozy. It's tiny but the use of space was perfect. It felt larger than it actually was. It had everything we needed. The views from the deck are stunning! We spent a lot of time out there. The location is also great. Walking distance or short drives to hikes, restaurants and Peggy's Cove Lighthouse. Also lots of beaches and other south shore attractions less than an hour away. We definitely plan to return many more times. We're so happy we found Lighthouse Lane Cottages.
Beautiful 💜
We had a awesome weekend at the Bluefin cottage. The cottage is well equipped for a relaxing weekend by the sea. Spent many hours watching the birds (bring binoculars) and the ocean! We took a quick drive to peggys cove and area. We had a great supper (takeout) from the harbour general store and picked up some yummy baked goods Cottage Owners were very friendly and available if you needed anything. Sunseys are absolutely breathtaking. Hope to be back again ! 👍👍
Amazing Location
I stayed here with my mom for a mother-daughter trip back in July of 2018. The views were breathtaking. Just a short few minute's drive to Peggy's Cove, or a half hour walk, which was an awesome experience in itself. The owners were very accommodating, friendly, and made sure to stay in good communication with their guests. Cottage was stocked full of linens, cozy blankets, dishes, etc. Looking outside our patio, we had a slightly different sunset each night to enjoy. Staying at Lighthouse Lanes gave my mom and I a wonderful memory we won't soon forget!
Beachy quaint cottages
Loved our stay at these quaint cottages with a beachy decor! A bit beachy rustic with lots of thoughtful touches, comfy beds and very clean. The views are incredible looking out onto the open sea. Cottages are perched on a rocky outcrop, only a few feet from the water. Incredible sunsets to finish our days of exploring this beautiful area. Lots of hiking, restaurants, beaches and Peggy's cove. Our hosts were so accommodating and friendly. We brought our puppy and he was very welcome. We stayed one night in the blue fin cottage and second night in the larger oyster cottage. We hope to return and stay here again.

Perfekt für ruhige Flitterwochen
Wir waren insgesamt 10 Nächte in diesen wunderschönen Cottages zu Gast. Die mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichteten Häuser liegen alle direkt am Meer, mit einem fantastischen Blick an jedem einzelnen Morgen. Sollte doch mal etwas fehlen im Cottage, sind die Dena und Collin immer äußerst hilfsbereit und haben für alles eine Lösung. In der direkten Umgebung gibt es viele Möglichkeiten für kleinere Tagesausflüge, inkl. des berühmten Fischerorts Peggy's Cove. Darüber hinaus ist man in etwa 40 min in Halifax. Wir können die Lighthouse Lane Cottages uneingeschränkt empfehlen und würden uns sehr freuen, irgendwann noch einmal zurückzukommen.

Lighthouse Lane Cottages is everything you could possibly want and then some. Lovely hosts, perfect location, spectacular views (seals and all) and unbelievably charming, renovated and well-equipped cottages of various sizes. Bluefin Cottage is literally on the edge of the ocean and you will fall in love with it instantly. We have travelled extensively and this little cottage rivals even the Amalfi Coast in our hearts.
This is coziest cottage I have ever stayed in, with the best view, and the most hospitable owners!
If you are looking for a relaxing weekend get away with beautiful views, you can stop looking. If you are one of those people who loves the coziness of a cottage and being close to nature, but not so much the kitschy 70s vibe a lot of places have, you've come to the right place. These adorable little cottages are all very tastefully decorated and clean, with everything you need for your stay --and if not, just ask the owners, because they are such lovely and accommodating hosts. My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon here, and we had such a wonderful time. Waking up in the morning to gorgeous scenery, taking in the breath-taking landscape each day, a glass of wine by the fire in the evenings, and going to bed cozy and comfortable each night. You will not be disappointed.
Wild Nature, Sea and Sky, Waves and Rocks, and a Lighthouse all from your own little cottage
September 2017, we were looking for a place to sleep in the vicinity of popular and beautiful (and fully booked) Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada when we happened upon the lovely Lighthouse Lane Cottages which fortuitously had a vacancy. We stayed one night, and felt so enchanted, we stayed another, and then another just relaxing and watching the ever-changing sea and sky, the rocks and waves, across the water a lighthouse, the comings and goings of seagulls and cormorants all from the deck of our comfortable, cozy and charming cottage. Between our cottage and all this was just a bit of lawn, and a small stone peninsula the seabirds call home. We stayed in Crab Cottage. The cottages are about 3 kilometers from Peggy's Cove and just up the road from the emotionally moving Swissair memorial. Bring your own food and you can cook and grill. Coffee, cutlery, and dishes are provided. Colin and his family are great hosts!
The perfect destination!!!
You are looking for a maginificent place to stay and relaxe with a breath taking view on the ocean, Light Lane Cottages is definitely the place to stay in Peggy's Cove. We spent two nights there and it was the highlight of our trip in NS. The owners were friendly, welcoming, attentionate and so helpful. The cottage was really comfortable, well equipped with so many details. There patio is just a few feet away from the water. We had dinner with that stunning sunset, it was priceless. Vous cherchez la destination rêvée pour passer vos vacances estivales. Light Lane Cottage est l'endroit de prédilection en Nouvelle-Écosse!
One super find
Ok. Lets talk here. If you are staying anyplace in the area stay here. Rooms are quaint and well supplied with standard items. The view is so stunning any direction you look. Check out my photos that I added. Day time, evening sunset or astrophotography the view is amazing. OK. The outsides need some work but this is only Colin and Denas 2ed year running the place. They got the innards looking great and are working hard on the exteriors. Would love to spend a week here sometime.

Highlight of our trip to the Maritimes!
I was very please with our stay at Lighthouse Lane Cottages. It was a highlight of our two week Maritimes trip to stay in such a cozy and beautiful place. My family of four booked the Bluefin Cottage for two nights. Colin (the owner) was very accommodating in our late check-in due to our flights arriving late at night. Although we arrived at 11pm on a stormy Saturday, Colin made sure the heat and fireplace was turned on. What hospitality! We really enjoyed waking up to seeing the ocean and the beautiful sunsets in the evening. The cottages are equipped with everything that you need to make a meal. The location of the cottages is just a short drive a way to Peggy's Cove. I would definitely recommend Lighthouse Lane Cottages to my family and friends. Thanks Colin for the wonderful stay at your place.
Lovely escape just outside Peggy's Cove
The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. The cottage we rented was beautiful, with gorgeous ocean views from inside and from the wrap-around balcony, where we enjoyed a BBQ. We ended up extending our stay because it was so nice! Definitely recommended.
Hidden Gem!
We had a perfect stay in the most beautiful ocean front cottage, very clean and so comfortable, it had everything we needed and more. Great location with stunning views, very friendly and helpful owners, good choice of restaurants nearby. Highly recommended.
Five minutes to Peggyscove
The cottages are very nice and from the main window you have a beautifull view from the sea. The bed is confortable and you have a microwave and coffee maker in the room. It is quiet and the site is very interesting.
