Best view and delicious food
We checked into the hotel after a long walk. We got lazy to leave it we ate there the 1st time the food was so good we decided to order the same lambchops the next day. By far the best lamb chops ive ever had. I highly recommend everyone to enjoy the view and the dinner.
Top Resort - sehr zu empfehlen!
Ich habe diese Zeit hier sehr genossen, ein tolles Resort, welches eine top Serviceleistung bietet. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war köstlich und frisch, alles war perfekt - sehr zum weiterempfehlen!
Exceptional and well-managed hotel complex with super friendly staff and service, good food and clean rooms
I would like to briefly share my experiences at the Kerculla / Gjirokastra resort. I have been staying at this beautiful hotel resort since the beginning of July 2024. When I arrived at night, I was greeted politely by the night porter and offered a cold drink. Over the course of the week, I gradually got to know the friendly waiters. Every one of the waiters is highly professional and will fulfil your every wish. The waiters, the friendly two ladies at reception, the cleaning ladies, the kitchen staff and the chef himself are always in a good mood, ask about your well-being and are all very organised towards the guest. If you show the staff that you can recite a few phrases in Albanian, they are particularly pleased as they can see that you are interested in them and their country / culture. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The food is of very good quality, from the breakfast buffet to lunch and dinner. Even if you have extra requests, these are fulfilled with a smile. For example, I would like to mention that the yoghurt in the morning comes from our own production. Some of the vegetables are also home-grown. Here, tomatoes actually taste like tomatoes. The hotel itself is situated high up on the mountain with a phenomenal view over the entire city and old town of Gjirokastra. The old town can be reached on foot in 15 minutes, the city centre in about 25 minutes. All in all, the concept, the location, the service, the facilities of the hotel with its pool and infinity pool, the food and the entire staff are simply outstanding. I can't really find anything that I would change or criticise. Overall, after a good three weeks' stay, I almost feel like I belong. As far as I'm concerned, I can recommend the Resort Kerculla unreservedly and highly.
Vacanza speciale con degli ottimi vini !!
Un magico oasi per una vacanza speciale. La struttura conserva la tradizione intrecciandola magnificamente al contemporaneo, cosa questa che porta tutto in una dimensione favorevole e senza eguali sulla bellissima Argirocastro. Sottolineo il piacere di aver trovato una lista di vini eccezionali che andavano a completare l'ottimo cibo che la struttura offre.
Terrible waiter
Waited for more than twenty minutes, but the waiter continuously ignored us, even though he crossed with us multiple times. Only good side was the view.

If you are looking for a boutique hotel that is exquisitely luxurious... is relaxing... has absolutely fantastic views... presents delicious and refreshments at morning, noontime, and evening... is meticulously maintained to a high standard... with hotel staff who are helpful, professional, courteous, and prompt... then look no further because Resort Kerculla checks all the boxes. My family and small grandchild had a marvelous two night stay and can say only good things... high marks for every category of grading. We had wonderful breakfasts, delightful noontime lunches, and fulfilling evening dinners with great local wines. Rooms were extremely quiet and very well appointed. Positioned on the top of the mountain overlooking Gjirokastra, one can enjoy panoramic views over the city below and the river valley beyond. Highly recommend. I would not stay anywhere else when visiting Gjirokastra.

Grandioses Gebäude und Lage
Grandiose Lage ganz oben oberhalb der Stadt mit phantastischer Aussicht, sowohl vom entsprechenden Zimmer, als auch vom Restaurant / Frühstücksraum. Wunderschöne Villa mit sehr guter Ausstattung. Tolles Frühstück mit phantastischer Aussicht. Waren 2 Nächte hier. Je nachdem, wen man als Personal erwischt, hätte ich 4 oder 5 Punkte vergeben. Die wärmende Decke über die Schultern und der wärmende Schnaps am 2. Abend haben dann die 5 Punkte gemacht ;)
Bene ma non benissimo
Struttura spettacolare con un panorama mozzafiato, location da 10 e lode. Mix tradizionale abbondante ma non memorabile, porzioni più che abbondanti, il maiale alla griglia eccezionale e servito in maniera scenografica e speciale. Mancano le raffinatezze che l'esperienza consegna, ma le basi sono ottime. Prezzi un po' più altri del resto di Gjrocastro, ma giustificati dalla location
Ottimo hotel
La struttura è indubbiamente ben fatta posta sulla collina a poche centinaia di metri dal centro storico e dal castello, tuttavia la via di accesso è oggettivamente molto difficoltosa. Ottima la visuale ed anche la piscina, che risulta essenziale per godere dell'ambiente. Le stanze sono molto carine e gli ambienti appaiono puliti. Buona la colazione che viene servita al tavolo in un vassoio senza possibilità di scelta. Tra l'altro ci ha lasciati perplessi che alla nostra richiesta di un caffè (oltre al latte) ci sia stato risposto che la 2 ^ bevanda calda non era compresa e bisognava pagarla. Penso che si possa migliorare nella comunicazione e nel servizio. Nel complesso la considero la migliore struttura ad Argirocastro.
Castle comfort and Scenic Views
Overlooking the breathtakingly beautiful city of Gjirokaster, Albania and high up on the mountain is Keculla Resort. This castle-like hotel sits at the top of the narrow, winding, maze-like road leading from the town below. Once you step on the grounds, it's hard to believe that you're not in a castle. The modern lighting, pool and outside bar gives it an updated feel that becomes the perfect balance between the past and present. The chandeliers, crests and paintings that line each wall where perfect additions to complete this stunning landscape. The junior suite had wooden floors, a modern flat screen TV (cast equipped), a shower and drying rack, and a jacuzzi bathtub with heated / cooling jets. It also had a patio door that you could access that opened up to a pool view along with jaw-dropping views of Gjirokaster. A traditional breakfast was served with meats, parties, cheeses, yogurt and cereals as well as coffee and juices. Dinner was available with reservations and an à la carte menu was provided. Seating was available inside in an upstairs dining room or you could take your breakfast outside in a dining area complete with retractable roof and windows (mountain, valley and castle views). The wait staff and front desk were extremely helpful and provided great service during my stay. Most attractions like the bizzare and castle are within a short rode from the hotel. However if you are feeling athletic, you could walk the winding hills as well (I prefer a car). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gjirokaster in the future.
Nice view, bad service
The place is nice, view is beautiful. However, the service is bad. They have a restaurant with only one waiter trying to serve all of the guests. Needless to say, it was a disaster. Took us 15 minutes to get seated even though we had a reservation because no one assisted us to our table. Took us another 15 minutes waiting for the menu so we can start ordering because the waiter was serving other customers. We informed them of our issue and one girl we believe is from the reception approached to ask us what was wrong. She was not nice, gave us an attitude and a bad vibe.
Tres belle découverte
Le Kerculla Resort est le meilleur restaurant que nous avons trouvé dans le sud de l'Albanie de part sa situation il domine la vallée et surplombe le château de Gjirokaster, une vue à couper le souffle, l'établissement est très propre, les chambres spacieuse, une jolie piscine dans ce cadre exceptionnel, et la restauration au top le dîner juste délicieux quand au petit déjeuner gargantuesque, à visiter sans hésitation
Very poor service. Waiters are very bad
Service was very poor. Better said, there was no service… we are uses that everything in Albania is a bit lay-back. But here.. all waiters seemed to have no interest in giving you a nice stay. Coffee was poor. Nice view though..
Fantastic work
We really enjoyed staying at this wonderful, professional resort everybody was so friendly, the food was amazing and the city center was nearby. We will definitely come back.
Meal with a view
In Gjirokaster, we had a dilemma as for the hotel choices: Kerculla Castle, the uphill resort or the smaller Hotel Argjiro. We chose the latter because of its convenient location in this charming UNESCO listed town. However, we had dinner at the breathtaking resort overlooking an unparalleled panorama. An evening to remember: excellent meals and outstanding hospitality. My son in-law drew for the chef a smiley face on his plate with the leftover veggies. The waiters upon seeing it showed it also to the owner of the hotel. Pleased with our feedback, he came and greeted us cheerfully and offered us a plate of fruits, but we declined it as we were already full.
Great facility and view but service is mediocre
This place definitely does not deserve its five star ranking, customer service is trash. The hotel is at the top of the mountain with an amazing view of the city. It's a good 15 to 20 minute walk to the main attractions (Bazar, restaurants, castle, etc). The facility is nice and clean. This hotel is regarded by most locals as the best resort in the city; however, customer service does not live up to expectations. The rooms are kept at 80 degrees Fahrenheit and when we asked to have the temperature lowered, the front desk girl told us that it wasn't possible. Only after asserting that we were going to check out that our request was fulfilled. In the evening, we wanted to use the pool and asked for towels. The front desk girl told us we couldn't use the pool because it was being cleaned. Mind you, there were others swimming in the pool and the pool wasn't being cleaned at that time. After explaining the pool was in use by others, the front desk girl gave us the towels but the interaction felt as if she was doing us a favor. Later that evening at around 10pm, we ordered some wine, the waiter took a while to serve us, never checked back with us, and told us we couldn't have any more wine because they were closing. During check in, we were informed the restaurant was open until midnight but that was not the case on that day. The following morning, we sat down for the complementary breakfast. We specifically told the waiter that we did not eat pork products; however, half of the food items served contained ham. The food items were all on a cutting board, the server removed the pork items at the table and did not care to remedy the situation. In addition, we were served an orange juice that tasted nothing like orange juice. You'd expect a fresh squeezed OJ at a place that labels itself as top resort in the area, instead the juice tasted like Sunny Delight. During checkout, front desk told us we had to pay cash only because card payments took a day for approval and given we were checking out card option wasn't possible. Also, the hotel charges an additional 3% for card payments. We have stayed at many different hotels throughout the world, and have had many pleasant experiences. Our belief is that it's the customer service that makes a hotel great. At Kërculla Resort, it seemed as if the employees were stuck up and wanted to provide the customer with what they believed was best. That is not the way it works, the customer is the one who calls the shots, not the service provider. We will visit Gjirokastër again as it is a hidden gem of a city but we will never again stay at this hotel. Sincerely, Fitim San Antonio, USA
Amazing view over the city and modern facilities
I've been to many countries and hotels and this one was by far one of the nicest places I have stayed at! We considered staying longer but decided against it due to time limitations. The staff was kind and very helpful. The breakfast was amazing! The view over the city is unbeatable! I'd come back here!
Atemberaubender Ausblick, jedoch Schwächen im Service
Das Hotel Kerculla bietet einen atemberaubenden Ausblick auf die Altstadt und die Burg von Gjirokastra. In dem für albanische Verhältnisse sehr teurem Hotel verkehren sowohl Familien als auch die albanische Unterwelt. Die Zimmer sind sauber und groß. Erst kürzlich eröffnete ein Neubau, welcher aber noch nicht ganz fertig zu sein scheint, laut Aussagen der Gäste. Das Essen ist großteils sehr gut und vielfältig, jedoch macht sich hier die allgemeine Schwäche im Service besonders bemerkbar. Manchmal werden Sachen vergessen, das Essen ist kalt oder das Essen nicht ganz so, wie man es bestellt hatte oder es ist einfach mal aus, weil fünf Gäste mehr am Tag zu besuch waren im Restaurant als sonst. Oft passt es und dann schmeckt es auch ausgezeichnet, aber halt nicht konstant immer. Diese Probleme mit dem Service ziehen sich halt durch das gesamte Hotel. So werden Schampoo und Duschgel nicht selbstständig nachgefüllt. Um Klopapier muss man bitten oder die Hotel-Schlapfen und die Handseife werden entsorgt und neu hingegeben, obwohl es dazu keinen Bedarf gibt. Die Liegenpölster am Pool bleiben bei Regen draußen und werden vom Vogelkot nicht gereinigt, und und und. Es ist halt Albanien, aber dafür, dass das Hotel gerne ein vier Sterne Hotel sein möchte, passt es noch nicht ganz für dieses Level. Der Grund, warum ich diesem Hotel dennoch eine fast top Note gebe, ist das familiäre Ambiente, wenn man länger bleibt und die ganz herausragende Leistung vom Kellner Eddie, welcher vom Service-Gedanken alle anderen MitarbeiterInnen topt, aber auch einfach geistig auf Zack ist [falls jemand Bedarf an einem top Mitarbeiter für das Service sucht und sich nicht scheut, sich um die Arbeitsgenehmigung in der EU zu bemühen, kann mir gerne eine private Nachricht schicken]. Eddi kompensiert einen Großteil der schwachen Leistungen anderer und ist hauptsächlich für die bessere Bewertung verantwortlich. Zu beachten ist, dass die Auffahrt zum Hotel durch die Altstadt von Gjirokastra eine Geduldsprobe sein kann und auch etwas Übung bedarf. Für Fahranfänger jedenfalls nicht ideal. Dafür gibt es dann eine tolle Aussicht. Das Hotel ist nicht schlecht, aber es müssen Grundregeln der Hotellerie ausgebaut werden. Für albanische Verhältnisse und die Leistung im Service ist es jedoch etwas zu teuer.
The best hotel in town for sure
Kerculla Resort is known in the City of Gjirokaster as, the best place in town ", or as, the place to be ", and they are very right about that. Not only the fantastic setting is overwhelming, as it is laying on top of the hill, overlooking the city of Gjirokaster, and the rest of the Valley. Also the rooms are set in a way, which looks tempting, but as well very convenient. I've been told, the rooms are fitted, countrified ", but it is far away from, dark & heavy ", as I understand it. Far more, it is designed to please you. The whole hotel has a very good atmosphere and is tidy and clean within the smallest corner. Also the staff is giving you real Albanian hospitality and kindness, the hotel management is heaving always an open ear for wishes and problems and is actively coming to you, if you are in need of anything. I have rarely felt as welcome to a hotel like here. In summertime it is the most fantastic way to start the morning with a breakfast on the terrace, overlooking Gjirokaster. Also the pool is in perfect condition to swim some rounds. Hotel restaurant is always preparing food with dedication, and is always open for special wishes. I am staying here for two month in a round, and I think, I have made a good decision to come here. Of course you need a car to be independent and can come and go, whenever and wherever you want, as it takes a 30 minutes footwalk into the city. But you won't get that astonishing view from any other hotel in town I am sure. Also the silence of the area is one in a kind. I can recommend this hotel regardless for your perfect stay, for having a coffee on the terrace, or to have lunch or dinner for a special occasion. You will not regret your choice.

No voy a decir que es un mal restaurante porque tampoco es eso. Lo que pasa que en Albania se come muy bien y comida casera en cualquier lugar y claro.... El entrante de queso y sesamo ni fu ni fa, el risoto rico pero salado y la carne con trufa bastante buena, pero en general pichi pacha. Otra cosa que no nos gustó es que el personal se puso a discutir en medio de la sala, en fin, puntuación media.
Like a nest on the mountain
As it is in the top of a mountain, it has a fantastic view of Gyirokaster city and its magnificent castle. The rooms are confortable but I din't like my bed's matress and pillow. They were not soft. The breakfast was outdoor and the view was quite marvelous. I had never seen a breakfast so huge and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were very gentle and friendly. It was for me the best hotel in Albania.
Ristorante pretenzioso
Dopo aver percorso strade strettissime da terzo mondo siamo arrivati in questo resort con ristorante. Cena senza grandi pretese (il cameriere ci parlava di cena tipica) e poco attenta alle esigenze. Il top è stato il RAI (grappa locale) con sapore di detersivo. Il cameriere imbarazzato ci ha detto che era retrogusto di uva si moscato e che non eravamo in grado di capirlo!!!! Non consigliato
Don't expect traditional food in the restaurant
the place is nice and you have a nice view, we did not stay in the hotel, it is good looking. But the restaurant does not serve traditional food which you'd normally expect when visiting a country, for some reason they rather want to be an Italian place
The best Place in Town
perfect food, very good staff and real time service. everything is perfect, i recommend it to visit. If you go to the city of Gjirokastra you should definitely see the resort😊
The best view and wonderful food
It is a little way to get there (all uphill) but certainly worth it for the views and the food! The service was really great and very friendly too. We didn't have to wait long between courses and all the food was cooked really well and nicely presented. I would certainly recommend a visit.
Good food
Beautiful restaurant at an amazing location! On top of the mountain so you overlook entire gjirokaster. The staff is great and the service as well. Food is good but could be better so therefore 4 stars. The best is the linguini chicken tartuf. Pizza could taste better and risotto as well. The ice cream is great as well as the white wine and local cognac. All in all great but with room for improvement😉
Pobyt v hotelu Kerculla
Krásné luxusní ubytování. Příjemná obsluha a velké snídaně s tradičním jídlem (každý den trošku jiné). Úžasný výhled na celé město a na hrad. Pobyt jsme si tu moc užili. ☺
a lot to improve
personnel is trying to do their best. they're nice people as the majority of Albanians, so they really try to cope with a clientele that probably expects far more. not a " resort " at all, not in the western meaning. the bar at the pool was closed during the highest season's week, there aren't enough sun beds for all the guests, pool walls are visibly greenish at the water's edge. there's a waiter showing up from time to time but not a full service. nonetheless the room was spotless, cleaning service is very careful. food ok but slow. they try, but still far from what they'd like to be.
Nada recomendable
Experiencia nefasta. Personal nada profesional. Una de las comensales se marchó sin cenar por un malentendido que no pudimos detectar, ya que los platos iban saliendo con una dilación de 15 minutos entre uno y otro. Para colmo, pretendían cobrarnos un suplemento del 3% por pagar con tarjeta de crédito.
Poor service, okay food
The food here is plentiful. The views from the terrace are awesome. But the staff, friendly as they are, are not really competent - neither regarding wine, nor orders. And the speed they want to serve the food in, is horrible. " But I gave you ten minutes " for starters and wine was the reply when we suddenly received the mains. Not good enough. And then trying to cover the mistake by offering the same fruit and grappaish drink that all other tables get at the end of the meal, was plainly amateurish.

Jeśli dotrzecie do tej restauracji pieszo, możecie nazywać się superbohaterami. Położona na końcu świata albo jeszcze wyżej wynagradza tułaczkę. Najlepsza jagnięcina jaką jedliśmy, nawet lepsza od islandzkiej, wspaniałe wina i desery, do tego niezwykle miła i sympatyczna kelnerka. To wszystko każe dać maksymalną notę. Perfect experience
Four of us came for lunch, and everybody had an excellent meal. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and we loved every minute of it.

Wounderful
We are a family of four and we decided to eat somewhere cozy and nice. We chose to go to this restaurant, because of the good reviews on other websites. The way that the staff welcomed us was really warm and amazing. We ate so much good, delicious and bio food. It was the perfect combination between the traditional and the modern cuisine. I highly recommend it. We will definitely visit it again by our next trip to Gjirokastra.

Paradise
One of the nicest hotels we stayed in while traveling through Albania! Gorgeous food in the restaurant lovely gin and tonics. Room was spotless and modern with a gorgeous view. Staff made the stay for us they couldn't have done more from start to finish, especially marcel and the lady working in the restaurant! Highly recommend to everyone. Only downfall is the road while driving up but Once your up there you won't want to leave anyway!
An impressive and unforgettable place
I loved staying here. In fact, I can't remember any negative aspect about it. It's a beautiful place and building, with swimming pool, safe and well illuminated at night, with its own parking place. Friendly, helping staff, they made me feel almost at home. The atmosphere is cozy. One evening, as I was having a beer outside, the owner himself came and we chat for a while... My room was very spacious, with a balcony and a staggering view all over Gjirokaster. All rooms have a nice view over the castle and the whole town. I must confess I wanted to visit Albania for quite a long time, but I had to wait until the country was stable and safe enough for that. And I do not regret. My first night sleep in Albania was at Kerculla Resort, and I was very positively impressed about the quality and the high standard of this place. The hotel is new, and it has European standard. The dining room has a " vintage " decoration touch and, just like everything there, a wonderful view over the town. I was a bit worried about breakfast on my first morning, because I am used to the " standard " self-service buffet where I can directly help myself of everything. This is not the case there. A waiter will take your order. I asked for scrambled eggs with bacon. Instead, I was greeted with a delicious omelet. It was not exactly what I ordered, but the result was even better. By the way, despite what you order, they will bring you a huge plate with fruits, nuts and vegetables, as well as a lot of other foodstuff. I could not finish everything they brought me. Just excellent. I also had dinner there, and the food was great. The service is friendly and good, although it may take some time. But believe me, this place is not a place to come in a hurry. It's a place to enjoy. Not all staff members are fluent in English, but I am sure they will improve quickly. Now, my only piece of advice has to do with the access. This resort is located on top of a hill. You get there by car (either yours, rent, or by taxi). This is not a place to reach on foot with luggage. The way up is so steep that I had to use the first gear on my car in the last section of the road. Not all navigators will find the hotel address (Rruga Bashkim Kokona). My recommendation (especially if you are arriving from the north) is to write down Sheshi Çerçiz Topulli (Çerçiz Topulli square), and when you get there, follow the signs to the hotel. It's all the way up. The old part of Gjirokaster is not an easy place to drive through unless you are Albanian and used to drive in very steep narrow streets that end up in stairways or dead ends… otherwise, be aware. Getting there will taste as a bit of an adventure even for experienced drivers, but it will for sure pay your efforts back. This is the place to stay at Gjirokaster.

Hochwertiges Hotel mit exzellentem Essen und Klasse Service
Das Hotel liegt sehr schön gelegen in ca. 1000 m Höhe oberhalb von Gjirokaster mit wunderschönem Blick auf die umliegenden Berge und Gjirokaster selbst. Es ist ein erstklassiges Hotel mit sehr freundlichen Menschen, die sich um das Wohl der Gäste kümmern. Das Essen, wir hatten Frühstück und Abendessen, war vorzüglich. trés belle vue - belle piscine
Séjour d'une nuit, le personnel est agréable, l'hotel est situé à 2km de la ville, tout en hauteur, ce qui lui perlet d'avoir une trés belle vue sur la ville et la vallée. La piscine est grande (20*10m), et bien agréable. Nous avions réservé une chambre pour 4 personne, 1 lit king size, mais 1 lit d'appoint 80cm de large + un couchage sur le canapé (non convertible).. :- ( Les chambres sont propre, la salle de bain est trés belle Rapport / qualité prix un peu élevé.
Très bien mais
Un cadre superbe : terrasse panoramique sur la ville. Belle présentation des tables. Plats copieux et goûteux mais quand dans un plat en sauce vous vous retrouvez avec plus de tête de crevettes que de corps.... c'est dommage... Et toujours un problème (Albanais ?) de synchronisation sur l'arrivée des plats à table.
Luxury hotel on the hill
We stayed for three nights at Kerculla. The room was as stylish and clean as the rest of the hotel. Super service from breakfast to dinner. But the thing that makes it stand out is the view! I would very much recommend anyone that want a relaxing time in great surrounding to stay a few days here. The restaurant were good, but skip the beef and go for the simpler dishes, which they are better at preparing. And if you have any interest in wines speak to them about the local Albanien wines and try everything.
On top of Gjirokaster
We arrived early at the hotel but that was no problem. They have a pool so we spent the day by the pool and relaxed. Lovely. We had two nights here and ate dinner here both days. It can really be recommended. The food was very good. The waiter we had spoke good English and was very good. He made it a great experience. The view of the city is as mentioned by others absolutely wonderful and must be experienced even if you do not live here. If I have to say something that could have been different, you may only get a type of coffee for lunch. If you want another type of coffee, it costs extra. A little strange at such a hotel.
Fantastic hotel
This hotel is perfect! It sits on a mountain that overlooks Gjirokastër. The view is amazing. There is a lovely pool, restaurant is great and the rooms are spacious and clean. The price is good too. The staff are very welcoming. I would recommend this hotel.
Tophotel in Albanien
Tophotel in Albanien, etwas teurer als sonst gute Hotels, aber gerechtfertigt. Sehr große luxuriöse Zimmer mit Balkon und Blick auf die Stadt und die Umgebung. Das Frühstück wird frisch a la carte serviert und ist nicht zu überbieten ! Man sollte auch einmal das Abendessen im Hotel versuchen. Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr bemüht und versucht immer feedback zu bekommen. Schöne Terrassen mit Aussicht (ca 300 m über der Altstadt) und ein schöner Pool mit Liegen. Es fehlt nichts. Anstrengend ist nur der 20 minütige Fußmarsch von der Altstadt zurück (bergauf).

We ate here maybe 4-5 Times as it was easy and Food was great There was a lot of people every time but it was not a problem.
Unforgettable
The hotel is situated in the mountains, it's quiet, attentive staff, the restaurant is fab. It's a place of dreams. Definitely would recommend it. Has a lovely swimming pool.

Dopo dieci giorni di Albania, la miglior cena possibile
Durazzo, Berat, Valona, Ksamil, Dhërmi e poi Gjirocastra. Ma, finalmente, soprattutto questa terrazza incredibile, con un ristorante efficiente, capace di servire con gentilezza una cucina tradizionale e finalmente " buona ". Al costo di un posto turistico, qui puoi mangiare benissimo piatti tradizionali con materia prima eccellente, un servizio di categoria e un panorama inarrivabile. L'agnello alla griglia è fantastico, ma non andate via senza aver assaggiato la feta cotta al forno a legna... noi l'abbiamo ripresa per dessert con sopra del miele. Ieri abbiamo provato altri due posti del centro, qui recensiti, non c'è paragone.

Ένα από τα καλύτερα σε μεγάλο υψόμετρο με θέα το κάστρο και όλο το Αργύροκαστρο μόνο η θάλασσα λείπει και αυτό το καλύπτει η πισίνα πολύ επιλεγμένα πιάτα από εξαιρετικους σεφ πραγματικά ένα θέρετρο με τρομερή θέα. Φιλοξενία από όλο το προσωπικό και από τους ιδιοκτήτες.

Ένα από τα καλύτερα στη βόρεια ήπειρο. Πολύ επιλεγμένα πιάτα και παραδοσιακά. Σε πολύ μεγάλο υψόμετρο με θέα το κάστρο και όλο το Αργύροκαστρο μόνο η θάλασσα λείπει και αυτό το καλύπτει η πισίνα. Φιλοξενία από όλο το προσωπικό και από τους ιδιοκτήτες.
Beautiful views of the city and mountains and great food, but that poor caged dog!! SERIOUSLY?!
As good as the food and the service were, which were overall very good, and as beautiful as the views from our table were, which were fascinating as the sun went down, the air cooled and the colors in the sky did their thing, as good as it all was, when we left we could not believe that the first and the last thing you saw when you come and go from this " 5 star " hotel, is a poor dog, in poor shape I must say, in a horrible cage, underneath what seems to be a communications tower with a bunch of cables hanging loose. I mean, seriously!! bad, terrible action, terrible taste. I will be contacting an animal protection org in Albania to follow up on this. I mean it. p. s. we were traveling with a little kid and I sure do not want to expose him to that kind of treatment of animals. I would not go back to this place or recommend it as long as that situation was not adequately addressed.

Just the most amazing place. I came here for dinner there were 9 of us, the food was sensational. Kerculla Resort sits very high on the hill overlooking everything including the castle. Everything about the place says 5 star. The chef came to our table to discuss the menu and gave us a few recommendations, we ordered as a table so had a mixed starter and to be honest should've stopped after that, the portions are huge and filling. But inspite of the size we hit main course and two carafes of wine, followed by dessert. The chicken risotto was wonderful and again generous in size and bigger in flavor too. Our meal starter, main, small desserts 3 liters of wine and some Raki worked out at £9 each. For the style of the place, location and service - not to mention the incredible tasting food I can only say 5 stars
Relaxing side trip
We were staying in Saranda and decided we would like to visit Gjirokaster. We caught the local bus (300 lek) which took us through the mountains to Gjitokaster. The bus drops you on the main road at the bottom of the new town. We walked up via the windy cobbled streets to the castle (200 lek entry). After a delicious lunch we went in a taxi (500 lek) up to Kerculla Resort. We were met and shown around the small resort and then taken to our room with a view of the castle and mountains. The room was very comfortable and had a balcony. We spent an hour by the pool, it was so relaxing just the sound of horses and goats. Then came dinner time, after a cocktail we enjoyed a delicious very affordable meal with wine. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed the best breakfast we have ever had: juice, coffee, yoghurt, cold meat, cheese, bread, jam, pancakes, eggs, fruit, cake and pastries all served to your table! All staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint, we didn't stay longer! A must if you want to unwind in peaceful surroundings. Thank you Kerculla we will return!

.. siamo stati con i miei genitori per una cenetta in questo ristorante tanto rinomato a Gjirokaster!Molto bello e anche la vista unica!!Ero con il mio fidanzato ed i miei gentori (mia mamma ha passato a Gjirokastro la sua infanzia per circa 10 anni). Abbiamo mangiato bene, ma niente di speciale.. niente che ti dica " che sapori di gjirokastro ".. purtroppo quella cucina tradizionale che tanto la distingue nn c'è più... è evidente che gli chef se ne fregano di valorizzare quelle che sono le specialità della città.. ma fanno ste bistecche e ste insalate che tu potresti mangiare in qualsiasi parte dell'albania!Insomma niente di INDIMENTICABILE PURTROPPO.. le vere signore che san cucinare bene evidentemente lo fanno solo nelle case... Ps. mi son dimenticata di dire che quando eravamo noi, nel tavolo accanto, c'è stato un gran battibecco tra i camerieri e questa guida albanese che accompagnava dei francesi.. in merito al cibo di scarsa qualità!nn ho capito esattamente di cosa si trattava però!!
The best hotel in Albania
Spending 3 nights there with my husband, what a view what an amazing hotel with very friendly people and lovely food. The staff are very professional and you can tell that they love their job. A big variety of breakfast and a la carte breakfast that you can try lovely omelette. You can tell the food is organic everything fresh. The room big and comfortable with the latest standard. Always clean and plenty stuff. Love this place. I have stayed in many hotels in Tirana, Saranda but definitely this is the best. Good value for money. We will coming back..
By far the most modern resort in Albania
Kerculla is one of those rare places you cannot possibly believe to have found randomly! It has become my only hotel when I go to Gjirokastra wether it is for work or leisure or a family trip. The view is breathtaking the pool is amazing and the rooms are the most modern in Albania! Great breakfast too! 5+ stars
Nice view restaurant
Me and my family were here for lunch a week ago, and I can say that the food was good. The restaurant seemed clean and nice. But what looked weird to me was that the waiter came really rare to us. We ordered a plate of pasta and it never came and on the other hand our waiter wasnt there so we could ask for the pasta. We enjoyed but not that much that we expected.
Warm welcome on top of the hill
Overviewing Gjirokaster this place has a wonderful view. Newly decorated everything feels very fresh and the staff really makes a lot of efforts to do their best to make you feel comfortable. Well done! Rooms are very nice - some with their own balcony - and the pool has a good size. You need your own car or a taxi to come to the Resort. The roads are narrow to the top, but if you don't mind that, it is really worth to stay at Kerculla.
Kerculla-- Best Restaurant In Gjirokastër
The castle ramparts towering over Gjirokastër aren't the highest point in the city. At the tippy-top of the next hill over is the just re-opened Kerculla, the end of the road. It looks forbiddingly high, like a walk that would be unlikely to be worth the trouble. That kind of thinking would be a mistake. The food is the best you'll get in Gjirokastër. The restaurant is pleasant enough, the views are spectacular and the service is OK, although English isn't their specialty. But it's the food that makes Kerculla worth the schlep up the mountain. They serve the traditional food of the region and take a great deal of pride in getting it just right.

Accoglienza molto cordiale, location spettacolare in cima della città, servizio impeccabile e molto gentile e cibo veramento molto genuino e fatto con cura e molta professionalità. Ci ha molto colpito la sorspersa della torta per il compleanno di uno dei nostri componenti del gruppo. Bravi, continuate così!!!! Lo consigliamo vivamente!
Amazing view
In a very beautiful part of Albania you find this gem of a hotel. The restaurant has an amazing view of the city, and serves local specialities like cheese and meats. The rooms are spaceoius and very clean. It a place to relax.
