Not up to par
Cracker Barrel in Foley, Al has gone down hill. Service is not what it used to be. Also, there is a more roudy breakfast crowd there now than years ago. I will not be going back.
Fabulous dinner
From the time we walked in through the door we received a warm welcome from staff. Christy was our hostess and she really has a good sense of humor and she put us at ease. Amber was our server and she is friendly, polite and quick with the food. The staff in the gift shop were great.
Disappointed
You can smell the bathroom from the front door! The food was very ok, disappointing. Don't get the blueberry syrup. They changed vendors, and it's awful. It is very murky and doesn't taste like syrup at all. Service was pretty good. Friendly staff.
Food was horrible!!
My husband ordered a hamburger steak that was too hard and dry to cut with a table knife. The turnip greens were dry. I ordered breakfast. Scrambled eggs were dry, hashbrowns dry, and biscuits and gravy were microwaved when she forgot them on our order. The gravy was dumped on the hard biscuit and the gravy was very lumpy from microwave. Gravy did not come served in a bowl but dumped on a biscuit. This was the last time we will go to Crackle Barrel in Spanish Fort Alabama.
Interesting vacation
Cool out there and I really enjoy myself, really enjoyed it and I met new friends there too, where by we talked laugh and stays happy together
Satisfying
Very courteous service. Portions were generous. Food was well prepared and served in a timely manner. Good place for a good breakfast.
another great Cracker Barrel
We stopped for a Sunday dinner while vacationing in Gulf Shores and so glad we did. The staff and servers were very cheerful and professional. My wife had the pot roast Sunday supper in a pot and I had Sunday fried chicken breasts. Both were absolutely delicious! The only problem was we sat near the windows but the shade was broken in the down position and we could not enjoy the outside view.
Greasey...
I'm sorry, but the country fried steak I had for lunch today at the Foley, AL Cracker Barrel was a poor cut of meat and dripping with grease. My wife and I ate there a bit before noon. The service was very good, but I put my greasey steak in a box for our dog after eating three bites- and our dog wouldn't eat it as it was soaked in grease. We won't be back for several months...
Great food
Great food, no waiting, and pleasant staff made for a very enjoyable experience. Our server was very prompt and attentive as well!
Charged me twice
I tried to pay my bill on the app, but when I submitted my payment, it gave me a could not find check error or something similar. My wife then went up front to pay it there instead with a different card. After checking our accounts, I discovered I was charged twice, once for 82.26 which was the cost without tip on my card that supposedly failed I also got charged 100 on her card, which was the 82.26 plus a $17.74 tip that she added. I contacted customer service and will update review if my money is returned.
Dinner after OWA
Enjoyed some comforting breakfast food's at dinner for our family after an afternoon evening at OWA. The kids enjoyed the chicken n' dumplings and we all loved the biscuits. Food and service was great.
What
I love Cracker Barrel, but this was one of the worst meals I have ever had at one. The bacon was flavorless. The eggs were not fluffy and also flavorless. The biscuits were barely warm. Service was excellent. We were very disappointed.
Good food and service for a chain
We have eaten lunch here several times over the past month and it's always been good. It is a " chain " so you know going in what to expect, but the food has been consistently fresh and tasty. No complaints.
Good breakfast even at lunch time
During this CoVid, Holiday Inn couldn't offer free buffet breakfast. So we ate at Cracker Barrel, next door. It did not disappoint. I had pancakes, and sampler bacon, ham, & sausage with scrambled eggs and fried apples. Had orange juice with pulp before the meal and 2% white milk with my meal. Husband had 3 biscuits with white gravy and 3 strips of bacon. He had tomato juice before the meal and milk with his meal. Maria was our waitress and she was excellent.
A Perfect To-Go Order!
After a long day of shopping, a to-go order was calling my name. I placed my to go order around 5:30 and was told it would be ready in about 10 minutes. It ended up being around 15 but it was nice to shop while waiting. Between 2 people we ordered chicken tenders, green beans, corn, baked potato, and biscuits. Our food was correct, hot, and absolutely delicious! The service was amazing and the staff was super friendly. I highly recommend dining at this location or placing a to go order!
Cameron was awesome!
The food was great as always. The restaurant and gift shop were great. Our server Cameron was awesome! He was super friendly and was great with my four year old daughter. He really made it a great experience!
Worst Visit to a Cracker Barrell ever!
My husband and I went to Cracker Barrell Store # 477 last Sunday morning for breakfast. We sat down and after 10 minutes placed our drink order and since we waited 10 minutes to look over the menu we ordered breakfast also. He ordered 1 old time medium well w / bacon with loaded hashbrowns. When his steak was brought it was laying in a puddle of blood. He called the waitress back to take it back to kitchen. Instead of replacing his eggs and hashbrowns which were laying in the blood she got another plate and put the steak on it. My sausage was raw so I asked her to take it back as well. He also told her that his hashbrowns were not loaded and just take the extra 1.69 off the ticket which she didn't do. She brings his steak back and gives him a good shoulder rub about how sorry she was about the steak and hashbrowns, during this Covid 19 epidemic. She looked at me and said your sausage is going to be pink inside, like I had never ate a piece of sausage and knew what it was suppose to look like. So we tried to eat what we could. I tried to call and talk to a manager before doing this review but as of now I have been on hold 20 minutes and 31 seconds.
Eh, had some issues
Eh, had some issues. First of all, they told us it would be a 30 minute wait, and they would text me. 45 minutes later I went up and asked about our wait and she said they texted me and called me, but they didn't. When I showed them my phone, they seated us. Then my wife and I ordered a sandwich, and they added cheese without asking us. Not a problem, we like cheese, but then you get the bill and they add to your check. The food was good, but there were some issues.
Great Breakfast
Always a really great breakfast. Food was amazing. It seemed like there meals are getting smaller. Add a little more. I came hungry and left a litte hungry.
Best breakfast & service!
Best breakfast & service! We are definitely regulars here. Mostly for breakfast but lunch and is awesome too. Wayne is a stellar server. Never lets our drinks run low & makes sure our orders are perfect!
Great place for lunch
Good food-great service-excellent value-always busy but wait not long to be seated or to get you order-what more could you ask for.
Great Meal
Always have a great meal at this Cracker Barrel. My husband has Celiac's disease and cannot have gluten. The manager was very knowledgeable and accommodating to my husbands diet restrictions.
Terrific Management
I want to give kudos to the manager for making our order right. Initially, the order wasn't filled appropriately, but the manager was very helpful and becoming of a terrific franchise.
Breakfast
Haven't been here in a long time & was definitely pleased. Our waitress took good care of us & my ham & cheese omelet & hash browns were perfect.
Great service, good food
Janet was pleasant and welcoming, but we soon put her to the test when 2 seniors added a daughter & 4 children! She quickly settled us at a larger table and brought us all hot biscuits. we were a challenge and she met it with a smile. Thanks! We eat here frequently and the food is consistently good.
MMMMM good
Everyone knows everything is good at Cracker Barrel. The pancakes are awesome. It was crowded since we were there on Sunday morning but we weren't in a hurry and enjoyed the shopping experience too.
Breakfast before Heading Home
We were seated right away because it was not busy. I noticed the Health Department rating of 96 on the wall behind the hostess table. I read where it stated about a kitchen manager not being on site so did not think too much about it. We were seated in the very far side of the restaurant by ourselves, next to the kitchen. Our waitress was less than friendly - perhaps she did not want to be at work. Our food was slow in being delivered and as we were finishing.. a cockroach scurried across the floor. I understand that can happen but overall a bad experience for a Cracker Barrel.
Quick bite
We were originally planning to eat at another popular restaurant nearby, but they were so packed. I mean it was a hassle to even find a parking space and we were starving, so we decided to come here instead. Cracker Barrel was busy too, but we got in and seated with hardly any wait. The food was delicious and hit the spot. We had the chicken & dumplings. So good! Our server was Amanda. She was very attentive to our needs and had a great attitude. We will definitively be back. 🙂
Great Service
Left another restaurant because of a bad experience and came to Cracker Barrel. Rizpah was our server and was by far the best server we've had here. The food is always great but tonight was exceptional. Thank you guys for making our bad night great!
Breakfast
Good service, kids donuts took a little. longer than the rest of our food. Overall we would eat at this Cracker Barrell again. Saturday morning service, we got in around 8:30 am it started to get busy after that, but we were only 3 peeps so no wait for us!!
Strange visit
This was one of the strangest experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. They were out of just about everything we wanted to order, even French fries. Who runs out of French fries with a Walmart down the street?! Luckily my kids were ok with mashed potatoes. The server was definitely a little too friendly and liked to get in our personal space. Nice but strange, really strange. She said kudos to me having a food allergy. As if I was doing it to eat healthy and not because it made me physically ill. The food we did get was good just not what we wanted.
Good meal
Has good as any and maybe the service was even better than most! Five of us had different dishes and all were good.
Grandma's Kitchen
This is our go to place for any kind of meal day or night! Went in for breakfast and was seated quickly even though they were very busy - Food came fairly quickly and was fresh and hot! Our party of four had a little bit of everything on the menu and it was just like being at Grandma's house! Love this place.
Quinn2
Stopped for breakfast at a very busy time but we were seated very quickly. The manager was great! He was taking orders, bussing tables, refilling drinks and anything else that the customers needed. Biscuits and gravy were excellent. The apple cinnamon oatmeal and sourdough toast were also very good.
Typical Cracker Barrel
We visited for breakfast before traveling home. The food was good and so was the service, typical of most CB experiences.
Great service
We were two couples with kids having dinner. Food has never been something spectacular but this place offers some great salads, is kid friendly, clean & not an expensive one! Here you can enjoy simple food which is closer to home made, not like the rest of American chain restaurants. We call it " old people place " (no offense to anyone!) because most of the meals are pretty tasteless, however - you can always add seasoning (but can't take it out) - right?:) The beef roast we have ordered this evening was extremely dry and chewy.. but our waiter took care not only of that but also all of us during our dinner from A to Z! Logan has been a very attentive, thoughtful & pleasant server. We have truthfully enjoyed his cheeky sense of humor & outgoing friendly spirit!
Nothing spectacular
We eat at Cracker Barrel a lot when we travel. Our food was good, but our service was not. We had a new girl. Obviously she had not been properly trained. Our food came out in spurts. She was nervous and scattered. She seemed to be overwhelmed. Once our food was delivered, she only came back once and we never saw her again until she brought our ticket. As I said, the food was good. And of course we always love to shop there!
Take Out Turkey Troubles
After waiting for over seven minutes on hold for take out order to be taken I hung up and tried calling back. The phone was then busy for next half hour. And continued to be until I arrived there half hour later. Because I was going for Thursday night special of Turkey by the time I drove there to make order they had been out of turkey for an hour. Wasted trip. But I love the food genteelly. Out of your special at 7:30 when you are open til 10pm. Doesn't make sense. This was the second time in two weeks I was disappointed with this particular restaurant.
Great Breakfast with Family
Stopped off for breakfast with the family. Great service and the food was awesome. They were very busy and they handled it very well.
Cracker Barrel
We went to the Cracker Barrel which was next to our hotel because my husband loves their blueberry pancakes. I had a regular egg breakfast. It is always very good. The only thing I wish they would do is make their gravy a little thiner.
Great Breakfast in Foley
Full disclosure: I'm a CBRL shareholder so I patronize my partners' restaurants. That said, Old Cracker Barrel is a truly excellent place for country American food and this location serves superb breakfasts! I like the chicken-fried steak, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, etc. In addition to the customary " rural country art " ambience, this restaurant obviously has a connection to Huntsville (Rocket City) because of the Giant Slide Rule hanging on the West Wall. A comment on our times when an educator's demonstration slide rule becomes a rural antique.
Not good
Went with friends and were very disappointed. Our friends meal they did not have all that went with what he ordered, instead of telling him they just brought out a vegetable substitute. Others ordered chicken and dumplings there were three dumplings on the plate (really) why didn't they just say chicken and a couple of dumplings. Was not a enjoyable meal. Wife said something to the manager an he just blew her off, like whatever... Will not be back....
Food is always good and plenty of parking and easy in and out on highway
Had a great brunch and enjoyed shopping in the store afterwards. all the employees were very helpful and pleasant. and the waitress was most attentive
Can't beat it
Service was great & people were friendly. They had some things in this store I hadn't seen at other Cracker Barrels so I had to buy something.
Love this country store
The food is always great and I love to browse the gift shop. They have some great gifts. I love Wednesday nights when they have the cheesy broccoli chicken by fav.
Stopped for Breakfast on a Thursday Morning
Ordered off the menu specified eggs over medium, they were over easy, crispy bacon, it was limp, gravy was runny, biscuits and pancakes were good. Silverware was dirty and service was less than friendly. Most likely will not return.
Disappointed
I travel a bunch. These places are usually very consistent. This one missed by a mile. My eggs were ordered over medium, but the whites were still running. The biscuits were ice old along with the gravy. I ordered potatoes instead of grits, but got grits. Sausage was hard as a rock. Bacon was good.
Food You Can Count On
Sometimes you just want reliable food, no hassle, and no surprises. We've eaten at this Cracker Barrel on several occasions over the years, with a previous visit (breakfast) being just okay, and this last visit a few nights ago quite excellent. Regarding our dinner: Service was prompt and courteous. The older gentleman serving us was on the ball and had a sense of humour; he made sure the orders were correct, kept our teas filled, and was personable without being overbearing. Meatloaf and spicy grilled catfish were both excellent, sides were hot, biscuits were baked correctly. Price was reasonable. The place was rather quiet and enjoyable in late evening. And to the manager who came around twice to check on us -- We DO notice this and it is very much appreciated. The cashier could have been a tad less distracted (i. e, needed to say " thank you " to us when closing out our payment before picking up the phone). And two other things I'd wish for (and this is true of most all CB's, so not a huge deal) would be to keep the table lanterns lit for some ambiance, particularly from late afternoon onward and on all dreary days, and to not keep those little square butter packets so solidly cold.
Just like home
Always great. Reminds you of home when you are away. Food is always good and service is great. Always a go to spot.
Good food, good service
We stopped in for lunch for a home-cooked type meal. The food here is always very good and does taste like grandma cooked it. The parking lot is spacious and it was no problem finding a spot. The problem is usually finding good service. This visit was an exception. Our server arrived right away and took our drink order. When she returned, she took our food order and was very efficient. She checked back often and kept our drinks filled regularly. When the food arrived, she noticed a kitchen error right away and had it corrected in no time. We will return to this location again because of the good food and hopefully the good service as well!
Great Late Dinner!
We love most all Cracker Barrels and this one was just as good as we expected. The food was good, the service was prompt. Our only concern was that the prices were different from those that we saw on the menu. It turned out that the same food was listed in different places on the menu with different prices. It was somewhat confusing. The hot chocolate was extra yummy.
Just as expected
We stopped for a late dinner after being outside to view Christmas lights the day after Thanksgiving. Restaurant and staff were warm, coffee & tea were hot. Our waitress was very speedy and attentive. Food was delicious and hit the spot. Glad to always know what to expect.
We just had a bad visit
We normally have a very good meal at Cracker Barrels - but not this time. It was crowded and our meal was not prepared quickly at all - food came out cold. The manager took care of the problem - but it was disappointing after a long day.
Old standard
These restaurants are pretty much the same everywhere. Breakfast anytime. Daily specials for lunch / dinner.
Could have been better
We went there for breakfast and were quickly seated no line. My wife ordered pancakes and I had Grand Ma's sampler. My pan cakes were both cold and dry, my wifes pancakes were warm and moist but lacked flavor. The rest of my order was also pretty bad, my scrambled eggs were so over cooked they were like rubber, the bacon and sausage both cold and greasy, The bacon was so overcooked it cracked into pieces as I cut it. I was unable to get our servers attention because she disappeared. Finally I got some one to get her but by then I had pretty much decided I eaten all I wanted. I understand a lot of seniors go there because of their low prices but remember you get what you pay for.
Pros and cons
This was new for me and my family but we are trying to eat healthier so we gave it a try last week. The waitress was very nice and offered us some delicious homemade biscuits for our wait. Those were the best biscuits I have had in a long time. I knew they were homemade. I could literally sit and eat about 3 for myself. Anyway, I got the chicken and dumplings sampler, my husband got a steak dinner and the kids got burgers and chicken tenders. The kids were very happy with their food and wanna go back. My husband loved his steak but he didn't enjoy the macoroni and cheese. I liked the meatloaf and turnips and ham but the dumplings were under cooked and nasty and the cornbread muffins were dry. The homemade mashed potatoes were good until I saw the BIG black growth looking thing in them. I brought it to the waitress attention. She walked off then the manager came and I mentioned it to him then he explained how the potatoes are prepared and brought out a fresh bowl for me. It still had some little black pieces in it. I wasn't too happy about it. They should cut the bad pieces off. This is the first restaurant I know to have that in their homemade potatoes. Overall I would return but I know what to order next time and what to avoid. I like the little shopping area but they need to add prices to items. I'm not going to buy if you don't have things priced. Good family restaurant. Kinda felt out of place but not bothered.
Yum
We love Cracker Barrel! The staff is friendly, the wait wasn't too long, & the food was fantastic! 👌🏻
In need of some comfort food
got the sniffles and was craving some chicken and dumplings, add green beans, broccoli and turnip greens for a winning combination.
Roast beef good, broccoli awful
Went here for Sunday dinner alone as I am staying close by for business. I asked if they could check my debit card was working and I explained I had a problem the previous evening. I was very rudely told that I had to buy something. That was my intention!!! I had roast beef and veg, the veg could have been sooked through a straw. Not good The waitress was pleasant but I was not too impressed by the cashier she had ran out of southern charm
Nashville Style Chocken
Had the Nashville style chicken and was very pleased. The sauce was actually hot. The chicken was tender. The cole slaw was very good. Service good.
Good food but shouldn't the waitors know how to work the pegs? :)
Three of us had lunch here. Two had salads and one the chicken fried steak. We were promptly greeted and the service was excellent throughout. Our order was also prompt. The only issues were the rolls / cornbread were not brought out early and our waiter didn't know how to work the pegs! :)
don't eat at this location
I like Cracker Barrel but not this location. As a local we gave it several tries over a length of time before we stopped going there. Some problems listed here happened on the same visit and some happened on two or more visits. 1. Two tables seated after us finished their meal as our drinks were delievered. 2. The chicken was almost raw. 3. Manager was rude. We notified their headquarters and were promised a gift certificate but never received it.
Good ole' down home food and service
Our waitress was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I had the fried catfish and it was perfectly crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside. The chicken fried chicken was perfectly cooked with a great thick white gravy on top.
The quality we have come to expect
I have had some not so good meals at some Cracker Barrel's but for the majority of the times it has been excellent. This was no exception the food and service was excellent. We are visiting for a month and will be back.
Same ole CC
Love crackle barrel!! But once you have been to one you know what to expect. This one was worth the wait. Food and service was great!
Always good breakfast!
I am never disappointed at Cracker Barrel! I had a huge breakfast for about $11! Pancakes, eggs and sausage! All good! Coffee was good also! The service was also very good! I also like the burger on sour dough bun when I'm at CB for lunch!
Always consistent!
Food is always fresh and yummy. Hubby loves their French toast. Friendly wait staff and quick service.
Awful
We went on a Sunday morning and of course it was busy, which wasn't the issue. We were seated at a little table by the kitchen in the walkway. So everyone walking by either bumped our table or stood right at our table. The only thing that was even remotely warm was the biscuits. Cold over easy eggs=🤢
Worst service ever
We made this our second choice since Lamberts was so busy... big mistake!! Although the place was a little busy it shouldn't mean I have to wait 15 minutes through 2 reminders about a cup of coffee... especially since everyone else in our party already had their drinks. The food took forever... and the pancakes were nearly burned beyond recognition. They should have never made it to our table in that condition. One person ordered the chicken and dumplings special of the day at 12:20 pm and was told they were out after everyone else in our party had been seeved. When he made another choice an order of dumplings magically appeared. No refills on drinks and we had to ask twice for bread. I would have rather stood in line for 30 minutes in 98 degree weather than to have been served the way we were here. Take a chance at another restaurant... anything has to be better than this.
Average meal this time
I will get right to the point, the coffee was good, the biscuits were good, the bacon and eggs were good. The hash brown casserole and grits were not good.
Worst Experience Ever
We went for a Saturday morning breakfast around 8 a. m. they were very rude. Our biscuits could have broken a window, the hashbrown casserole was crusty, and bacon raw. The manager did comp it, but we did not eat so definitely left disappointed.
