Coffee
Great spot for meeting friends in mornings. Atmosphere is always nice and look forward to my morning visits. See you there.
Your Cups Suck!
I visit the drive thru daily. With coffee in hand I drive to the other side of the parking lot to my place of work. By the time I get there, I often have more coffee on my car, pants, hand and console. The coffee top either pops off and pores coffee all over me or the seal leaks. Or, If im lucky and make it to my desk at work, I find that the cup leaks and have to put paper towels underneath. I continue to go because of the convenience, but that may need to stop all because of their cups!
Just okay
Great outdoor seating. Close to family's house. Good location with easy parking. Coffee just ok. Don't understand the hype.

Staff is friendly. Pastries choices are limited. Coffee is hot and there are a few tables outside for use when weather permits.

I don't drink coffee, but went with a friend so she could get one. The muffins were very good. Free wifi.
Great local business
I love patronizing Port City Java. When we moved here in 2005 we found it and it became a great replacement for Starbucks. We still love it and go there instead of SB's. As good if not better IMO. I like supporting a local business that really wants to be a success and acts it.
My Fav Coffee Place
I have always loved PCJ over any other coffee place. And service is always amazing! They are friendly and the atmosphere at this location is really nice and has outside seating.
Poor service-Consistent with getting orders wrong
We just stopped here again (even though I've stated my intent to boycott) because my husband wanted coffee. I've personally had numerous incidents where I was given something I didn't order, cold coffee that was supposed to be hot, etc. which is why I opt to go down the road to the Waterford location. He ordered a red eye with cream, I got a small coffee with cream; both hot drinks. We used the drive thru- the girl was impatient as if we weren't ordering fast enough for her, even though we knew what we wanted before we pulled up. My husband got an iced coffee with cream, I got a regular coffee with barely enough cream in it to change the color. I'm not sure what has happened to this place, but the qualified employees they used to have are gone & replaced with bad attitude, non listening people who don't seem to care what is ordered but give you whatever they feel like making. I hope the owners will seek to improve this location. I would not recommend it unless you like your coffee to be a surprise.

LOVE THE HOT MOCHACCINO WITH WHIPPED CREAM AND CHOCOLATE DRIZZLE
Love stopping in for a quick Mochaccino on my way to the office. PCJ employees are friendly and the service is quick. After a trip to the beach on weekends, the mocha java shake is a real treat to " cool " you down.
Egg English muffin Sandwich poor choice
Egg, English muffin sandwich seemed previously cooked & reheated poorly, poor setup, taste, value, not recommended!!
Great little place
When I was new to the area, I stopped in to have coffee. It was ok and the people here are really nice. When it got hot out, I tried a drink called " mocha freeze ". Let me tell you - it's worth every penny. I don't think the price is really steep compared to the other coffee houses but that drink is awesome. They serve shakes there and the calorie count is posted near the items. The shakes can add up some serious calories, but this freeze is way less calories and very delicious. You can't get anything like this at McDonald's or Dunkin. When you take the first sip, there is a depth of flavor - very nice coffee and chocolate without being too sweet. No matter if it's cold or hot out, this is my drink! Great stuff!
Nice Nice Nice!
I am a heavy user of the PCJ's in the Wilmington area. I don't even have a way to make coffee at my house! The Brunswick Forest PCJ is closest to my home. The coffee I order is always exactly the same and I like it. Too much bitterness at Starbucks. The manager and baristas here are GREAT. It means a lot to hear some nice chat and great working together going on behind the counter. They amaze me. Thanks much, PCJ-Brunswick Forest!
This place is another reason Brunswick Forest is dead..... closing at 7?!?!!? Really?!?!?!
Please consider staying open later. I mean seriously.....7 pm? If Brunswick Forest is to grow a lot has to change
Excellent coffee
I love port city Java. In my opinion their coffee is a little smoother that some of the other places (I may be partial... lol). The scones are a great add to any coffee or cappuccino. I highly recommend this place.
Small and Very Cold
If I lived in Leland, I would be forced to home however I wouldn't be happy about it. Met my friend there she had coffee and I had tea and oatmeal. Both were fine. The barista taught us somethings about caffeine which was good info. There were only 2 soft chairs which were taken so we took the hard chairs at one of the few tables. How I longed after that soft chair. But the biggest problem was on a cold day 40's outside, they had the air on. I was freezing. So uncomfortable I could hardly focus on our conversation. Shaking a couple times. My tea got cold quickly which I'm sure was because it was so cold in the place. I left with a scratchy sore throat 🙁

Tiny, noisy place with few tiny tables. Overpriced coffee and other stuff, trying to be a local Starbucks
Cleanest Coffee Shop in town!
Port City Java has wonderful service and is extremely clean. The location is wonderful, especially for Brunswick Forest residents. It is always a favorite spot for me, my family, and teen age children to go to for a treat!
Consistent Quality!
Port City Java goes the extra mile each time you order. They ask what kind of milk you want, if you want your drink hot or cold, every time. They use quality ingredients and fair trade coffee. It's delicious and the drink is always consistent, unlike some of their competitors. Their breakfast wraps are very popular in our house with the eggs, cheese, and roasted red peppers, along with either ham or bacon. You can't go wrong. They sell delicious Italian style sodas, too and my son is a huge fan of them.
Fast, friendly and fantastic!
I stopped at this Port City Java for my second time and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Immediately the Decour and use of space caught my attention here. They did a great job setting up the atmosphere in this coffee shop. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The second thing that grab my attention was the barista's, they are extremely fast and their service to their customers. They do not waste time and getting the job done. They have a wide selection to choose from. What's nice about Port city Java is that they still offer seasonal flavors throughout the entire year if you're craving that pumpkin spice like I do. The Bristas are very helpful and accomplishing what you were looking for and are helpful with suggestions. They offer " Coffee free " hot and cold beverages. It's a great place to eat-in or take-out with awesome muffins, breakfast power bars, rolls, breakfast sandwiches and wraps. Word also has it they have great shakes too. Bathrooms are very clean. They even offer doggie treats to to give to your furry friend. They have over 25+ locations in Wilmington, you have to try them out!
Great at Brunswick Forest
Stopped in at the Brunswick Forest entrance for a couple of iced coffees. Quite honestly the coffee was better than most of the coffee houses I've visited in Seattle. Barista was also helpful and friendly.
Great Coffee and Exceptonal Customer Service
It's not just the coffee, which is excellent, but also the barrista's welcoming attitude and offer of a complimentary refill that made my morning.
Good stuff
Stop here often for a iced coffee and a muffin. Yummy, what else is there to say? There is rarely a crowd and the service is quick.
I love my ppl port city java
There are 2 pcj in Leland, the pcj in Brunswick forest is way way better than the one near Eddie Romanelli's. They are more friendly, they recognize you and they are just some awesome people. And the drinks are just as good as the staff.
Good Coffee
We stop for coffee after going on a motorcycle ride. There are a chain of these coffee houses and have always had a good drink.

Prompt, courteous and professional service... great place to get a quick breakfast. Both takeout and eatin are good options. Great coffee and food! The designer ice ream shakes are a favorite with many visiting family members

Excellent coffee drinks, great quality, speedy service and convenient drive thru. But the best feature here is the delicious bakery goods. The cinnamon rolls and muffins are excellent! Always fresh. The egg and bacon or ham bagel sandwiches are really good. Love this place as a meet up for a chat or for a drive thru for a quick morning meal.

Port City Java is really good! The staff is wonderful in making suggestions when one has no clue what they really want. I'd recommend them over Starbucks any day.
