Couldn't wait to leave
This hotel feels very outdated and isn't as clean as it should be. Everything is below average. The hallways smell musty and like mildew. The rooms are old and seem only partially cleaned. The pillows were terrible, and we questioned if the bedding had even been changed. There was no room service, so beds were not made and garbage wasn't taken out during the day. The air conditioning consists of old units in the wall, which didn't keep up. The bathroom was unimpressive, with a tub that drained slowly, filling with water during showers. The toilet is so close to the counter that it's cramped when using it. The pool was empty and unusable. The front door glass was smashed, and no one answered the phone at the front office. The place is quite run down. Meadow Lake doesn't seem to have many hotel options, but we couldn't wait to leave this one.
Better than expected
The service was good, room was clean, breakfast was very good for continental. The only reason we didn't give a 5 / 5 was because the pool and hot tub were shut down. We will likely always chose this hotel
Didn't Let us stay
Our Family of 6 with 4 kids under 4 got turned away because we live in town. We were renovating and needed to be out of our house for the night because of timing issues. My husband booked online and when we went to pay the clerk checked an ID and said we couldn't stay because we lived in town.
Clean rooms, good variety for breakfast
Nice basic hotel. Clean. Breakfast had lots of great options. Pool and hot tub not working. Friendly staff. Toiletries in the bathroom were good quality. Location was easy to find and close to the hockey rink
Would not recommend
The hotel smelled off and the staff was not attentive and not friendly at all. It felt like we were not welcome even though we paid for our room. For the duration of our stay, we noticed that there was hardly anyone at the front desk. It was always empty. We got a room with a King bed and upon arrival, the room smelled off as if it was smoked in. There were a lot of flies in our room and as we opened the curtain, we were shocked to see how many flies were by the window. We immediately returned to the front desk and asked if we could have a change of room. They said they were booked up so we had to be downgraded into a smaller room. The next room wasn't clean either but unfortunately, that was our only option. The towels did not seem clean either as they were stained and discoloured. When we checked out the next day, we asked the front desk if there was any type of compensation because we got downgraded due to the issue with the room they provided but the staff completely ignored what we said and checked us out anyway. She seemed to be occupied with something else and was rude to us. Like other reviews, the pool was supposedly under maintenance. I can surely confirm that it has been " under maintenance " for over a year now. Definitely overpriced and not worth the price for what we had to pay. Would not recommend staying at the Travelodge Meadow Lake to anyone.
Travel lodge
The breakfast was quite satisfactory. It was very convenient to operate the kitchen and there was good variety and quality. The children were disappointed that the pool was closed due to " the pandemic " I suggest you call before you go and inquire if the pool is important to you.
Business
We just stayed at this hotel for 2 days trusting the travelodge brand but after this stay we will no longer choose this brand over others. This particular hotel needs to be completely shutdown and bulldozed. Horrible location. Rooms were small no suites. Sink wouldn't drain. Mold on the ceiling. We were on the main floor window opened which was nice but no screen and discovered the lock was not that stable. Limited tv channels. Wonderful purple light thru the window at night. Power went out and there was no backup system. Pop machine broken. Back door in from parking lot didn't work so had to walk all the way around. The way this hotel is set up anyone with a key can get anyone into the hotel without the front desk seeing anything. Breakfast was a whole other story. Coffee was good. No attendant in site to ensure COVID protocols were handled. NO PLACE I'd recommend
Single Night
Spent a single night here while in Meadow Lake for work. A bit of a maze of hallways to get to my room. Room felt a little small but there was enough room all the same. I found the water pressure in the bathroom to be poor and the drains for both the bathtub and the sink drained really slowly. The water pressure was also kind of weak. Bed was comfortable and the rest of the room was quite good. Staff was friendly and check-in and check-out were quick.
Travelodge? Or Traveldodge
As a business man who travels regularly I have never been compelled to write a review however now I feel its my duty to warn EVERYONE! Stay Away! Lack of customer service seems to be the only job requirement needed to work here. Indifferent and uninformed front desk clerk whos main priority was watching tv with his shoes off rather helping me with my check in. Things did not get better. As we checked in the attendant informed us the hot tub was not working and would not be fixed, also pool was not running both of which are advertised, and is why we chose this place. Stayed on 2nd floor of hotel. A creepy blue light shine through the window like neon in Vegas. Overall staff does not care, customer does not come fisrt i will never stay here again and neither should anyone else. Shame on Travelodge for putting its name on this property.
Smokers must love the hotel

Smell is over powering. Letting guest leave their nasty work boots in the hall way added to the nastiness as well. Arrived late and did not want to find another place so just atayed. Don't bother bringing in your luggage on arrival because you may be directed to use doors closer to the parking area. Parking area needs to have more lighting especially the backalley entrance. Room was clean but toilet and sink location in bathroom requires a person to sit somewhat under the sink. Staff was friendly but not available at check out.
Worst hotel ever
This Travelodge is an absolute dump. Likely the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I got stuck in a smoking room and I don't smoke, the front desk person was less than desirable, outrageous price, non functioning internet. Just truly an awful horrible place. I highly suggest never staying here for any reason. They should be shut down.
Good stay
Was welcomed promptly, and room was clean and updated. Staff was friendly and available upon request. The contenental breakfast was more than adequate for my needs. Checkout was a breeze, with no surprising charges. I will stay here again in the future!
Nasty filthy place
I was there for a teacher conference. I had stayed in the past but had not been in 2 years. Oh what a difference 2 years make. The chair was so filthy, dirty, and nasty that not only did we not want to sit in it, which we never would have, we couldn't even look at it, so we threw a pillow in it. The shower curtain was disgusting. It had a huge loogie or bugger right in your eyesight. We were completely appalled. We wanted to get ice but upon removing the plastic we saw the huge moth in the ice bucket so we decided against it. We were there for 2 nights, we went for breakfast and we were afraid to eat. They had a pancake maker which did not work, they had a waffle maker which did not work. Every table was nasty and there was no attendant in sight. Upon checking out the next day, we realized why we didn't see an attendants. All the staff was in the lobby laughing and joking around and sitting down as though they didn't have a job. I would not recommend this hotel to my enemy. Now I feel that I need to go home and scrub myself clean. I am hoping this review will help someone not experience the trauma we went through. I provided pictures so you will see that I am not making this up.
Well taken care of in remote location
My stay was very good overall. Friendly staff at check in desk throughout my stay. Room was tastefully updated for an older hotel / motel. Lack of elevators was not a problem for me but might be for some. Breakfast was more than adequate and was set up early at 5:30am. The large fridge and microwave are huge pluses. The cost of my stay represented good value. Overall, would definitely stay at this hotel again and am pleasantly surprised with the qualtiy of the hotel, especially considering the remote location. Stay over for work
This hotel is just average, smells mouldy and the carpet is out dated, they have cleaned up some rooms through renovations but still needs some work, the tubs are old, rusty and we're probably reused to save money. Overall ok if you're tired out and need a place to stay for work.

Rundown but comfortable
The hotel is rundown and worn but comfortable and did get a good night's sleep though the bed was on the softer side. I thought the service was quite good and people friendly. Other than the noise from closing doors, the room was mostly quiet including the temperature control. The breakfast was limited but okay. The wifi quality was fine. Though there are limited options in town (which impacted the rating) we may consider another hotel on the next business visit.

The bed was very worn out and soft. I am surprised that Wyndham would buy a place like this, quite run down and dated -- I was disappointed in the property and had driven quite a way from my planned route as I thought a Wyndham hotel would be better than others available in the area
Great stay
Our stay here was excellent, the facility was renovated and I really like what they have done. We had no issues at all and the staff were great to deal with.
Meadow Lake
Smooth friendly check-in. Hotel has a pool but I didn't try it this stay. Room was clean and comfortable but a bit small. Coffee, microwave and a fridge provided. Located near highway and restaurants. Had a good sleep, a quick free breakfast and was on my way.
Frequent Stays
I enjoy staying here as the Front end Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I have always been treated very professionally and any small thing I have found with my room was immediately resolved or passed on to those who would repair it before my next stay. Complimentary breakfast is very enjoyable with a varied selection. I have recommended my crews to also stay here as it is very reasonable priced and close to all amenities.
Noisy and old
Old hotel. Very Noisy heater fan in room. Doors slamming on the floor and it is shared with smoking. So although I was in a non smoking room it had a strong smoke odour. Bed sheets were torn. Very cold bathroom floor. Not a nice place to stay, don't recommend.
Hotel Smells of Mildew Throughout
In short this is a hotel that has had some better days. Smell is heavy throughout and the bathrooms quite poorly maintained. Bed was surprisingly comfortable but no other real compliments to offer unfortunately.
Poor condition of bath tubs!
Unfortunately I do not think I will stay at that location again! After a long drive to Meadow Lake, all I wanted was a hot tub or bath. Upon arrival I was informed that the hot tub was broken. No problem, plan number two was a nice hot bath. As I was about to start the bath, I noticed right away that the bath tub was completely chipped, not just in a small area, but the whole bath tub. The enamel just comes right off! I did phone to front desk and was told I could switch rooms as the front desk attended agreed that it was gross! She also mentioned she would bring this up to management and get back to me. I am still waiting for call back. I viewed two other rooms, but it did not help as all the bath tubs were chipped and in poor condition. The rooms smelled musky and top of comforter appeared stained or dirty.

Clean but terrible service
Stayed here for a night. Rooms were decent & clean. Front desk worker was missing for at least 20 minutes when we arrived to check in. Called the hotel 6 times to get her to return to the desk but that didn't work either! In the morning 2 teams cleaned out the breakfast food. Asked the front desk (different) worker if someone was in charge of the breakfast room. She said no & went to get another jug of milk. She took the empty bag of pancake mix & said she'd be right back & never returned. Dropping off room keys she said, " Sorry I took so long to get that pancake mix. " ???? Never did get it!! On a sold out night with several teams get some proper service in your breakfast room & ensure your front desk clerks do their job Travelodge! Brutal.
Horrible
Stayed there with my five-year old son. The jacuzzi was broken and apparently had been for months without being fixed. The pool was unorganized, dirty and freezing. The hallways smelt of recreational drugs being used and the breakfast wasn't even worth staying around for. The front desk area is wide open to a back room which if full of garbage and exposed wires. Looked horrible. All-in-all I was very disappointed. I have stayed at other Travelodge's and this was by far the worst. Run down and not well maintained. I will not be staying there again.

No Complaints!
This property was actually quite nice. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was definitely satisfied. The room was nice, clean (albeit a bit chilly upon arrival). The bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was... well, what you'd expect of a continental breakfast haha. Actually, I was impressed that they had a waffle maker, and pre-made french toast, pancakes and sausage that you could reheat as well. Nothing fancy for sure, but it was nice that there were some hot options as well. We did not check out the pool at all, as we were there for a wedding, so pretty much just slept there.

Brutal. What a terrible place to stay
Carpet is wet in various spots for days- so gross. Kids yelling and slamming doors at night- when you call the front desk they don't do anything. Don't stay here if you like clean hotel rooms and quiet at night.

Great breakfast, ok bed comfort
Beds weren't very comfy and the hot tub wasn't working and pool was cold. But service was good, it was clean and breakfast had the best selection I've seen anywhere.
Poor plumbing
Very old decor, pillows are hard and plumbing is very poor making for a very poor shower experience. Location is ok, sometimes the cleaning staff neglected to refill towels and / or coffee supplies. Noisey at times from guests in room above and kids running up n down the halls.
Another great stay!
Exceptional front desk service, updated room that was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Was here in Meadowlake for a business trip and was very pleased with the accommodation. After a long day the pool and hot tub was perfect for relaxing! I appreciated the fact that there was a plug in for my car as it was very cold out as well. This is my 'go to hotel' when I am here in town. Well done!
Great Find
I have stayed in meadow lake many times and always stayed in another chain hotel in town.... it was mediocre but it was all I knew. It happened to be booked this night and found the trace lodge as my back up. OMG what a find. I will always stay here from now on. It had great staff, clean and updated rooms, large flat screen TVs and a great breakfast. Plus Wyndham points. Awesome find and I highly recommend it. Thanks Travelodge. PS... Bears Den across the street was a great place to have supper.
In Meadow Lake for work
The hotel was fine. However, I was very disappointed that they charged me for 5 night's stay even though I checked out early. I did book the 5 nights for work on their website but my job was done early. They would not refund me the last night even though I checked out at 8 am.
It was perfect for our family
We really enjoyed the size of the room with three Queen size beds perfect to accommodate our family. The hotel was nice and quiet. We had a great breakfast every morning. Staff was very nice and friendly.
Friendly Service
Overall average. Stands out for the lack of choices in this small town. Clean water in hot tub for most part. However, the guestroom did not get serviced on one of the days during our stay, and we did not get fresh towels and bathroom cleaned and resupplied on the same day. Staff was friendly and helpful though and helped us through these challenges. Bring your own utensils and cookware if planning to prepare meals, not much provided in the little kitchenette in that sense. Very small fridge, no room to stock food and drinks that need refrigeration.
Average Place for Meadow Lake
Old hotel that has been renovated so rooms are very small and window mounted heating system is not the newest. Fan didn't have an auto mode and only had two speeds - full-on and brisk heavy winds - noisy as well. When heating element shut off, fan continued to run so you get cold air being blown around the room. The only way to manage it is warm room up, then get up and turn off till room cools right down, then get up, turn TV up and turn heater unit back on. The room was average cleanliness - for Meadow Lake anyways, with stains on the comforter and the bed skirt. Carpet didn't feel real clean either, so would recommend wearing shoes or socks in the room. You get to hear lots of noise from the hallway with people coming and going and the outside doors slamming shut. A group was there with kids and they left the doors to their rooms wedged open with the security bars, so the slapping / banging of the doors till 11:00 pm kind of cuts into your restful experience. The breakfast is average Meadow Lake fair. If you want something better- go to the A & W. All in all - doesn't really stand out from the rest of the hotels in Meadow Lake, even though the bar is pretty low.

New owners took over the day I arrived. The place needs some work but the new owners seem to be working towards changing things for the better.
More average than average
Hotel is in a great location, pool is in not such a great location, room was average, bathroom was below average, continental breakfast was very average, service was average. Hotel staff was outside smoking when we arrived, and our non-smoking room clearly smelled of smoke as well as throughout the hallways. An insect greeted us upon arrival into our room and was quickly neutralized. Doors seem to make a lot of noise when they close. Bed was surprising comfortable, and staff was friendly / helpful in the morning. Would probably stay here again in a pinch.

The hotel is nice and the rooms are clean. The only thing I can recommend us a snack machine for your guests. Something to munch on in the evening would be great.

Clean, modern rooms, good amenities, smoking rooms available
A pleasant hotel with courteous staff. The common areas (hallways, pool, etc.) are a bit dated, but the rooms have been recently renovated and are clean and well equipped, including Keurig coffee makers. Can be a bit noisy at times, but I think that is a reflection on the nature of the town itself - I doubt if any other hotels in town would be any quieter.
Average hotel but lots of very loud door slamming
It's probably the best place to stay in Meadow Lake, but pretty average overall. My only real issue with the hotel is that every door is designed to slam as loudly as possible. All evening that's all you heard every minute, SLAM, SLAM, SLAM. Hallway smelled a bit smoky. The breakfast is average, no eggs though which was disappointing and the breakfast room is really small with no room to move in the morning. Rooms are okay, internet is okay, location is good.

This hotel is very average and needs to be updated. The halls smelled of smoke, as did my room, through the ventilation. The staff was great.

Excellent customer service and excellent staff, they are very accommodating to their guests especially the woman who works at the front lobby. Not sure what her name is but she works the evening shift.
Great staff great job
Showed up at 2 am, was greeted very well. Very cold outside and windy, yet came outside to show me where to park my semi truck. Took care to put me in a lighted area. Rooms were being remodeled, but construction very organized. Great breakfast selection.
Helpful Desk Clerk
The desk clerk working was very helpful. We needed a room close to the exit so my elderly Mother didn't have to walk far. She made sure we had the closest room available. She also gave a good suggestion for a place to eat for supper. Turned out to the same place that other local family members frequent. When we needed directions to another location she was able to assist with that. She is good asset to the hotel.
Always accommodating
I always enjoy my stay at the Travel Lodge in Meadow Lake. The staff is friendly and helpful. Recommend any and everyone take advantage of this get of the North.
Great staff!
We gathered here unexpectedly recently for a family funeral and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make this trip far more comfortable. The rooms are nice and the breakfast room was well stocked with individually wrapped muffins and, to the delight of the kids, push button pancakes. Thanks to Brittany and the other desk staff for your kindness.

Amazing in the far North
Good motels in small towns in far northern Canada are hard to come by. This is a gem. All the big city amenities. I understand newly remodeled. Desk folks were very helpful finding us services we needed in town. I would recommend it to anyone.

Average Hotel with Friendly Staff
This hotel is an average hotel with updated rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was fully booked when we called so all that was available for us was a smoking room. The room was nice but the smell of smoke in it was very gross. I find it crazy that a hotel would still allow people to ruin their rooms with the disgusting smell of cigarettes. I would stay again but definitely not in a smoking room.
