Gorgeous view and lovely room
Such a lovely stay at the bear and butterfly! A gorgeous view, nice big room and comfy bed my partner and I shared. The host was so accommodating, friendly and great communication. we enjoyed a delicious home cooked breakfast. She also provided us with info on things going on that weekend to check out. Also to note, I really loved how security conscious the host was.
Lovely B & B
The Bear & Butterfly is a lovely little B & B in Gravenhurst. The hosts Bev & John are so hospitable and welcoming. The home cooked breakfast is delicious and amazing - you will be filled up til dinner! The setting is peaceful and relaxing, with rustic room decor and there is a hot tub in the Muskoka Room. Location is close to the town of Gravenhurst and a short drive to Bracebridge, Huntsville and other Muskoka towns. We recommend it for a nice quiet getaway! 🐻🦋
Relaxing Getaway
My wife and I loved our time at The Bear and Butterfly B & B. In a country backdrop only 5 minutes from downtown, there is a comfortable and relaxing tone felt throughout. Beverly was a first rate host, very personable, professional, and knowledgeable about the area. Loved the muskoka room and hot tub! Breakfast was superb, even having several of our Hostess' own home made delights. It was a mini getaway to celebrate my wife's bday and it was a memorable one thanks to Beverly and the Bear & Butterly!
Wonderful First Bed and Breakfast Experience
Being the lucky winner of a free stay at the Bear and Butterfly Bed and Breakfast was what brought my husband and I there this week. It was our first time ever staying in a Bed and Breakfast. It was such a wonderful experience. The property seemed remote but was conveniently located only 5 minutes from town. The setting was very relaxing with the woods in the background. We enjoyed watching a groundhog eating outside of our window and a firefly dancing. Our room was extremely clean and roomy with a huge walk in shower and double sinks. The room amenities featured a television, free Wifi, fridge, kettle and coffee maker. Our hosts, Bev and John, were very welcoming and approachable which made us feel very comfortable. They also have a very sweet cat, Trini. Bev prepared a delicious, large, breakfast. My favourites were the homemade bread, jam, and fruit salad. This is such a convenient location if also visiting Bracebridge and Huntsville. I would highly recommend this place. My husband and I look forward to a repeat stay when visiting the Muskoka region again.
Relaxing and friendly atmosphere
My wife and I spent three nights in this quaint bed and breakfast. Both Bev and John were friendly and helpful, especially with points of interest and sightseeing adventures. The room was large and the bed was comfy!! The washroom was huge!! It had everything we needed and more, including double sinks and large rain shower. We were greeted with a welcome basket and made use of the on-site hot tub. The breakfasts were good and plentiful. It was a good vacation and a nice time to recharge and relax.
Fall gateway
My husband and I stayed for 2 night at this cozy and warm place. It was amazing experience, Beverly and John were so very welcomed to us! The room and the bathroom were clean, comfortable, country style looking. We enjoyed the hot tab and tasty home made breakfasts, learned a lot of interesting stuff about the area. The house is at a very good, quite location, it was easy to get to the sights and amazing trails all over Muskoka Lake.
Sisters getaway
My sister and I stayed at this wonderful location for Thanksgiving weekend. We stayed in the Bear room which was a little larger and loved it. The hostess Beverly was wonderful and very helpful. Our two breakfast meals were yummy, blueberry pancakes, yogurt, fresh fruit and second breakfast bacon, eggs and yummy homemade blueberry jam. Thanks you for a great stay.
Pleasant but nothing special.
Booked this one on the basis of five-star reviews, but felt a bit deflated, and it does not rank among our favourites. A very rural location, so quiet, and bed very comfortable, but sorry - nothing stood out enough to make us want to go back.
Its like coming home
This is our 3rd time staying here in less than a year and it wont be our last. The country setting is beautiful. The rooms are immaculate with gorgeous decor and the beds are soooooo comfy. Breakfast is always delicious. Bev, John and Trinni (the ambassador lol) are amazing hosts, always so warm and attentive. We started out coming as guests, but quickly felt like family. My only issue is that i cant give more than a 5 star rating. Honestly cant say enough good things about Bev and her B & B
Canada Usa road trip
This location deserve to be know. Beautiful rooms and home. Adorable owners. Close from downtown and lake. Try it, you'll not be disappointed. 10 / 10. Belles chambres fans une belle maison. Des propriétaires adorables. Près du centre ville et du lac. Essayez, vos ne serez pas déçus.
Great stay in the country side
We had the opportunity to choose between a hotel and this B and B. And we booked this one, and yes we loved it. The country side is great and if you like the forrest and everything with it, it is a great place to stay. We were welcomed by the owner, and she made us feel at home. Great room, nothing to complain about. She did give us some ideas for diner, or things to do. Breakfast, home made and in one word, great. Willl we come back a next time, Yes we will. And the good thing, pricewise it beat the hotel
Wohlfühlen mitten in der Natur
Ein herzliches und süßes Pärchen führt dieses b & b. Wir wurden hier behandelt wie Familienangehörige. Der Service war sehr gut und zuvorkommend, sodass es an nichts gemangelt hat. Das Zimmer war groß, schön und mit Blick auf den Wald. Frühstück wurde nach unseren Vorstellungen frisch zubereitet und war ungewöhnlich schmackhaft. Es gab nichts zu beanstanden. Jederzeit wieder.
Beautiful, quiet, perfect
We spent 3 nights in the Bear Room in March -- the bed was SO comfy-cozy, the room was spacious, and the bathroom was gorgeous (a huge walk-in shower!). Bev was the sweetest host, always ready to offer whatever we needed (even cleats for winter running, who knew??) from local attractions to restaurant tips and directions. She was such a treat to spend our mornings with: her breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, and her stories were really lovely. We had a terrific time, and will definitely book again next time we're in Muskoka!

Excellent - Genuine People and Great B & B
The Bear and Butterfly is one of the best B & B's I have stayed at. Beverley and John's hospitality is unbeatable--Canadian hospitality +. I was warmly greeted by them when I pulled up. We sat talking for hours after I settled into the beautiful large bedroom with spacious private bathroom, with a little nook, great for reading. Their warmth is genuine and they are truly interested in you as a person. Some B & B owners go through the motions--polite and surface friendly. They are located " in the country " but only about ten minutes away from downtown Gravenhurst. I watched the resident groundhog from the bedroom window and deer visiting the yard. I played with their beautiful friendly cat. When I left, we were friends. I will stay there again next year if the guest room is available.
Quiet and relaxing
Peaceful location close to town. The owner is very friendly, detailed and focused and catered to our needs. The room was very comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was delicious and quite satisfying. We would come back.
