You cant go wrong here
We love this place. It's the best of the six or so similar ones we stayed at along the way from Winnipeg. You cant go wrong here. Glass glasses are a feature of a good hotel and this place has them. It's warm and not drafty. The bed is comfortable and everything seems pretty new. At the train station in McBride is a couple who run the family restaurant / coffee bistro, and community center. It's a good motel in a good small town, from this tourist's perspective.
Hidden gem
Great stay in a quiet lodge in the beautiful Robson Valley. We so appreciated the friendly and helpful staff. As well as the quiet, clean and comfy room. The chocolate and cookies were an unexpected treat and morning coffee delicious Thank you!
Exactly what you need on a road trip
While traveling to Jasper AB I needed a place to crash. The owners of this hotel stayed up late so that I could have a bed to sleep in after driving so many hours. They are absolutley wonderful people and I without a doubt would make a point to stay there again. Super clean, well kept rooms. If given the choice, make this one.
Highly recommend!
Friendly, extremely helpful, friendly staff; even to the point of offering to help with my suitcases (as I had some mobility issues) Gorgeous log furniture in very spacious room. Immaculate cleanliness. Shower was good; Quiet and exceptional value for the cost. No attached restaurant, however was conveniently located close to food places, fuel etc.
Quiet and cozy
Great location just off the highway, so very quiet. Very welcoming staff. Rooms were cozy. Easy to find and waking distance to many areas. Loved the cozy room. Prices were very reasonable and lots of parking space. Unfortunately hot tub wasn't working.
Fantastic!
Fabulous place to stay! Comfy beds, nice smelling linens, chocolates, cookies, super clean, sauna, gym, and the hosts…. AMAZING!! I will be staying here a lot for work in McBride and I'm happy it'll be my home away from home! Nothing negative to say at all.
Great spot, lovely owners
The welcoming to this inn was very pleasant, rooms clean and comfy. Great deep bathtubs. So nice to have a useable bathtub. This was our first time staying here so we'll stay here again. Would love to see pet friendly rooms. Thanks for a great experience.
Great place to stay, once again!
Love this place! Second time I've stayed here and it's a definite 5 star!! It's the little things like the coffee supplies, cream NOT coffee mate!, little chocolates & cookies but also such a nice property with comfy beds and most of all it's clean & well maintained. The hot tub was out of order which was a disappointment but that happens. Next time I'm sure it will be up and running.
A Costly Mistake
We were unable to stay, not realizing that it is not a pet friendly hotel. Mistakenly, I didn't scroll down far enough on the Expedia website when booking the room. Unfortunately, we were not entitled to a refund so the hotel kept our money without having to provide a service.
Everything I needed, and a bit more
Immaculate. Comfortable bed. So many pillows to choose from. Quiet. Hot water was hot and there was lots of it. Great shower. All the usual amenities plus lovely little extras. Cookies! Chocolate! Central, I walked to grocery store and restaurant. Easy to find. No hassle check in and out. Would stay again.
Old, retrofitted as hotel. Adequate for overnight stay. Excessive cleaning smell
Older hotel. Dark in halls and rooms. VERY strong cleaning smell, possibly insecticide also, in room and halls: bedding, towels, prob carpet. Tried to clear air using bathroom fan but it's very loud. Bathroom fixtures cheap (strange considering motel advertises as originally for " Europe's Elites "). Entrance to hotel is through locked door even in daytime, need special code or ring bell. Exit requires unlocking door (fire hazard). A heavy interior hallway door must be opened to pass through to farther rooms. Manager very nice, doing the best she could with what's there.
Best in McBride
We were very pleased to find this place in McBride. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable. It had all the comforts of a 4 star hotel. The owners were very nice and helpful, the gentleman even carried our bags up the stairs. We would definitely stay here again!
An excellent place to stop for the night (or several nights)
The Lodge - McBride is an excellent choice; it is clean, comfortable, quiet, reasonably priced and well managed. After checking in; the more you look around McBride the better it gets. There are not a lot of amenities around but there are a few excellent places for casual dinning. If you don't have time for anything else get up early and just before you drive away look around you and take a few photos of this beautiful broad valley (Robson Valley) and the mountains on each side.
Best hotel on our trip
Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and great service. We were greeted upon arrival by a very friendly face and set up with our room right away. The bed was very comfy, lots of hot water and the cleanliness was second to none!!! Soft fluffy towels, and overall a wonderful experience!
Will be back!
Super clean and I love the touch of the coffee maker with options of coffee and goodies. The hotel its self is super cute and a lovely woman opened the door and greeted me as soon as I showed up! The hot tub was closed when I was there but the area was very cute and hopefully the next time I stay it will be open! Thank you for a great stay.

Excellent Inn.. very clean, spacious and very caring staff. Will book it again. Great views of the surrounding mountains. Loved all the rooms having BC Mountain Names. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay in McBride BC. Excellent value for the large rooms with all little things that one needs for a road trip.
Don't stay here
On the night July 22 we were evacuated from Jasper, Alberta, due to wildfire. Since all hotels were booked, we had to sleep on a church basement floor that 1st night, so we decided it would be a good idea to book accommodation for the 2nd night, given rooms were nearly sold out. There were a lot of unknowns and it was very stressful. It turned out the following day that we needed to get on the road instead of spending the 2nd night in McBride. I then called this hotel and spoke with the manager, hoping for his understanding during a difficult time. He was quite short with me and indicated he couldn't help me because I booked through expedia. I called Expedia who were compassioniate about our situation, but indicated that ultimately it was up to the hotel and they would contact them to negotiate on our behalf. I subsequenty received an email from Expedia advising the hotel would not agree to a refund. I have since called the manager of the hotel again to explain we were fleeing a wildfire and that we were hoping for a little compassion, especially given how many people were displaced and needing a room at that time. He would have easily been able to sell the room again. My call with the manager did not go well. In fact, he hung up on me. Do yourself a favour and choose a hotel that cares about people more than dollars in their wallet. Very unfortunate experience during a traumatic situation.
Best spot in McBride
Great spot in McBride, I've been through town many times and didn't know about this place. Very peaceful and clean. Easy check in, no hyway noise at all. Too bad hot tub not operational, it would have been perfect with the mountains in the background.
Safe and Homey
Picturesque at the bottom of the mountains.. Warm friendly welcome, so many nice touches in the lodge.. The owners are very thoughtful. You can walk to restaurants and gas bar.. We have been on motorcycles for over 2 weeks. We left NH USA and drove out to Kewlona. This is one of the top places we have stayed!! Thank you so much to the owners!! Love the sauna!!
Great experience
Wonderful experience. Wonderful people and every detail has been attended to. From the moment you walk in, the pleasant, clean environment, the decor, the lovely rooms, the beds, the bedding the pillows, absolutely every detail has been attended to. Great job guys! My only regret is not knowing about you previously on my many trips through Mcbride.😊
Wonderful stay
Our stay was wonderful. Everyone was so accommodating. our room was very nice. Clean and comfortable. The surroundings were quiet and peaceful and secure which was very important as thank you for a wonderful stay. We definitely will be back when we visit again.

Comfortable night at The Lodge
We had a very comfortable overnight stay at The Lodge in McBride. The room was beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable. The proprietor and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a convenient location, easy walking distance to amenities in McBride.
Great place to lay your head
We stayed at this lovely hotel on our way up to Kitimat bc. We had a very long journey and were delayed on our travels. The staff were amazing keeping in contact with us as we checked in quite late. The rooms were lovely and very quiet. The rooms had all the amenities your would need and the beds were quite comfy.
Thoughtful and Like Home
We had a lovely stay here. The room was so clean, the sheets and pillows are very comfortable. This lodge is owner operated and you can tell in the best way. There is intentionality behind even the smallest details. The furniture is all handmade and very well built. Each room is named after a mountain with local photos of the mountain framed all throughout the hotel. The photographer is one of the owners! There were little chocolates, a welcome book that told us if we had forgotten anything (eg toothbrush, feminine items) to just let them know. I had a great sleep there, a nice hot shower and just felt at home. It was nice, dark and quiet at night. I would definitely stay here again. In the morning there were even deer wandering and eating outside the lodge, a testament to the great energy of the place. Definitely stay here.
Excellent place to stay in McBride
Great place to stay in McBride. Clean, quiet, friendly service. Bed was very comfortable. QR code to access the wifi. We arrived on a very hot day so it was nice to have windows that opened. Would definitely recommend to my friends.
Nice rooms, clean facilities, but unprofessional and nonstandard booking policies
We had a mixed experience here. In other circumstances we would leave a higher rating. First of all, the rooms are lovely at the lodge. Very cozy and clean, with comfy beds and a nice Keurig machine in the room. We loved the wooden bed frames and the TV streaming services available. The owner was also very helpful when we needed a fan due to the heat. Our main negative feedback has to do with their policy regarding numbers of guests and how this is communicated. We booked by telephone and requested a room with 2 queen beds because we were travelling with our two kids. We were quoted a rate and we paid the full amount. The person booking us in never asked how old our children were (they are 12 and 15). Our booking confirmation said we would have a room for 2 adults, no kids, and 1 queen. We emailed twice but no response, so we called and asked to adjust the booking to what we had requested - 2 queens because our kids were with us. The second receipt said we'd have 2 queens but still said no kids. We gave up asking for it to be corrected. When we checked in, our kids were with us. The owner confirmed that there were 4 people altogether and we settled in. Later that evening, we noticed that there were only two towels (in a room designed for 4 people). Our son went downstairs to request two additional towels, and the owner refused and instead asked to speak to us. He told us that we would be charged for 2 additional adults because in their policy, kids who are over 9 are counted as adults. We were then compelled to pay an additional $92 (20 / kid per night plus tax) to have our minor children in our room. There are two major issues here. 1: If the hotel does have this very odd policy that classifies kids 10 and up as adults, it needs to be communicated before booking and certainly before check in is completed. It was never mentioned on the phone, it was not in the guest agreement we signed (we triple checked), and it was not in the emailed receipts. I could not find it stated anywhere on their website. 2: This is a very unreasonable policy. I've stayed at many hotels and motels, chains as well as independent ones, and in 100% of them kids 17 and under are classified as children, not adults. Sandman, travelodge, Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Motel 6, Holiday Inn etc etc. Charging parents to have their 2 minor children in the room - when the room is designed for 4 people - is unreasonable. It is even more unreasonable when this policy is applied out of the blue after checking us in, and after *not* communicating this information at any time, either verbally or in writing. It is the hotel's responsibility to communicate such policies so the guest can make decisions about costs. I do not know why the owner never asked us about our kids' ages when we booked or when we checked in. He told us it was in the guest agreement, but it most definitely wasn't in the one we signed (which is still in our inbox). Paying nearly $100 we hadn't budgeted for the use of 2 towels really put a damper on our family road trip, which was already on a tight budget. The mistake was on the hotel's part, not ours, so in fairness the cost should have been absorbed by them. This hotel is quite lovely but i would urge the owners to reconsider this policy, which is not in line with standard practice and customer expectation. And if they keep the policy, at least it needs to be clearly communicated before the guest makes their booking.
Great stay
Ray was very accommodating and friendly, with freshly renovated rooms the place was very clean, warm and beds were amazing. Boot dryers in the room with hot tub outside. Ice machine that worked, microwave and air fryer to use as well. Would highly recommended. Just need some plugins out side would be my only suggestion.
Hidden gem
Cutest little hotel, clean, inviting and beauty log beds. The best place in mcbride for our sledding trip. Love the outdoors hot tub and the staff was welcoming and helpful. Will stay here again! Love the in room boot dryer, great touch for sledders.
Great find in McBride!
If you go to McBride and don't stay here you're missing out! What an absolutely adorable place to stay! It's clean, rustic, has personal touches that make a difference. Also the staff was very kind and helpful.
Best sleep I've had in years
This hotel in McBride has the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Its also incredibly quiet. Those 2 things made for an amazing sleep and then the in room coffee made for a great morning. It's clean, comfortable and quiet, what more can you want?
We a great time staying at The Lodge
We had an amazing stop in McBride on our road trip and absolutely loved stay at The Lodge ! The rooms are clean, spacious and have real neat custom log furniture in them. The Lodge also has a small gym with an indoor rock climbing wall which was fun. The main room had a pool table and rock fireplace which we also enjoyed very much.
So comfortable and quiet
