Saubere Zimmer, gute Küche, freundliches Personal. Was will man mehr
Ich habe das Hotel im Winter besucht. Den Pool konnte ich zwar nicht benutzen, aber die Anlage war trotz der Winterverhältnisse sehr gepflegt. Die Zimmer sind groß und hell. Trotz der Lage an der Hauptstraße in 340, ist man vom Verkehrslärm abgeschnitten, lobenswert ist Die hervorragende Küche. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist angemessen. Ich werde auch zukünftig gerne die Unterkunft besuchen.

El personal amabilísimo. Las habitaciones son bastante grandes y muy confortables. No llegamos a probar el restaurante aunque se veía muy bonito y acogedor. Tiene buena comunicación con Algeciras y Tarifa. Lugar con especial encanto. Volveremos.

Restaurante muy bien acondicionado. se come de lujo en nuestro caso fuimos varias amigas y pedimos cosas de picoteo y un arroz negro con pulpo espectacular el trato de los camareros máxima atención ambiente bueno y da un jardín lleno de hortensias super cuidado.. repetiremos sin duda

Like før Tarifa og rett ved veien finner man dette hotellet. Tilbyr parkering under tak gratis eller i garasje mot betaling. Store rom med balkong og et fantastisk basseng området som omkranses av store hyacint busker så blir som et fredelig Oase midt i det hele. Er egent restaurant på stedet og kort vei til både Tarifa og Gibraltar
Sitio acogedor al que sin duda volveremos
Entorno precioso, muy limpio y agradable en todos los sentidos. Acogedor, tranquilo y personal fabuloso. Las habitaciones amplias, muy limpias y las camas comodisimas. El desayuno buffet riquisimo, sin demasiadas cosas pero todo de calidad. Sin duda volveremos.

Amabilidad del personal y comodidad en alojamiento. Magnífico desayuno, comida excelente y personal muy amable. Jardines frondosos y muy cuidados. Entorno inmejorable en pleno parque de los Alcornocales que animan a paseos maravillosos
Einfach schön
Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Es handelt sichvun ein fast historisches Gebäude aber sehr gepflegt. Gemütliche Betten toller Blick vom Balkon sehr ruhig in der Nacht obwohl an der Straße gelegen Gerne wieder. Auch das Frühstück für 12 Euro lies keine Wünsche offen

Juste parfait, un grand merci à tout le personnel. Chambre très propre et très confortable. La cuisine du restaurant est juste parfaite. L'hôtel est calme est très bien tenu. Je reviendrais avec grand plaisir. Venez sans hésitez vraiment
Handy for visiting Gibraltar, Tariffa or catching a ferry
Meson de Sancho has quite an unimpressive exterior and you could be forgiven for driving by. However the interior is nicely decorated although the front lobby feels more like walking into a women's dress shop than a hotel. We stayed here as part of the Plymouth-Dakar Rally. The rooms are spacious with excellent beds and we had a balcony. The outside pool in January was out of use. The staff were very friendly and the food was very reasonable. It is well situated for visiting Tariffa or Gibraltar as well as a convenient stopover for catching the ferries from Algeciras which is 15 minutes down the road.
Déçus
Nous venons dans cet hôtel depuis 10 ans rien à redire. Mais au niveau du restaurant ou habituellement les tables sont dressées auprès de la cheminée nous avons dîner dans un salon peu éclairé et lugubre. Habituellement les viandes sont délicieuses et particulièrement bien cuites mais lors de de ce dernier passage les entrecôtes étaient trop cuites très décevantes Bref nous avons été très déçus

Atención es super bueno, la limpieza de maravilla el desayuno y la chica del desayuno es genial!! El sitio super relajante y aire puro el ambiente y la zona super recomentado!! Ademas tiene todo a mano, playa frnteras y todos los servicio!!
Un auténtico paraíso
Hotel encantador rodeado de higueras, con vistas a las montañas, excelente calidad de su restaurante, exquisita atención por todos los miembros del staff, especialmente en el restaurante, y preciosa y cuidada decoración tanto en las habitaciones como en el resto del hotel. Un auténtico tesoro. Gracias.
Da sogno
Albergo situato sulla strada alle porte di Tarifa: vedendolo da fuori non gli dareste una lira ma entrando vi ricrederete. Gli ambienti interni sono curati in ogni particolare, bellissime le sale comuni, da sogno l'area della colazione. Abbiamo soggiornato in una stanza sul lato piscina: pulita, silenziosa e spaziosa. La colazione era di altissima qualità (anche per noi italiani), il servizio cortese e mai invadente, i prezzi adeguati. Nel caso tornassi a Tarifa e'qui che andrei di nuovo! Siamo stati benissimo!

Struttura anni 60
La struttura si trova direttamente sulla strada a pochi chilometri da Tarifa. Il complesso presenta due volti: la parte della reception con annesso ristorante risulta curata, la stanza a noi assegnata, dall'altra parte della strada, è inserita in un contesto di villaggio anni 60 un po' decadente. Il prezzo è elevato se rapportato alla vetustà ma la zona è turistica. Ottima la colazione, personale cordiale, ambiente familiare.

Todo genial!! La chica de la limpieza un amor, y todos los camareros del bar eran super majos también. Las vistas eran maravillosas, la piscina súper limpia, en el restaurante se comía súper bien en general un 10!

Loved this hotel, friendly helpful staff, very comfortable and inviting. Lovely room and terrace. Food was amazing, great brekkie, and dinner was just fab, best fish I've had so far. Will definitely stay again!

Personal muy amable y atento, cálida acogida, habitación fantástica con balcón y grandes vistas, muy tranquila a pesar de la carretera. Hotel muy bien cuidado en un entorno magnífico. Buen restaurante. Ya es la tercera vez que venimos y nos sigue gustando.
Good loacation for Morocco ferry's
We stayed for two nights. Despite having a confirmed booking on arrival this was denied by the staff. Fortunately I had the confirmation email. We were part of a larger group - all of whom had pre booked - and the hotel didn't have sufficient staff to cope. The restaurant was good. Our housekeeper brought us an extra blanket as the nights were cold. We were grateful and very comfortable. Ideally located for the ferry crossing to Morocco.
SEMPLICE MA PERFETTO!!!
Locale con l'atmosfera di una volta, personale attento, gentile e allegro. Camera molto spaziosa, pulita e pur trovandosi sulla strada le camere guardano verso la valle e sono davvero silenziose. Abbiamo fatto la mezza pensione con la cena: semplice ma tutto molto buono e il personale fantastico. Come con la colazione tutto basico ma anche qui l'attenzione del personale ci faceva sentire in una reggia. Bravissimi!!qualità prezzo perfetta.
No atienden reclamación
Reclamación no atendida. La dirección o gerencia del hotel mesón sancho no ha atendido nuestra queja relativa a los arañazos ocasionados en mi vehículo en la puerta del hotel. Estuvimos dos días y pagamos 8 euros de parking por día. Reclamamos y ni si quiera han respondido. Nada educado. Si quieren un lugar donde al menos les contesten a una reclamación no les aconsejo ir allí.
Súper recomendable
El hotel es divino, tamaño de la piscina muy bueno, se puede aparcar en la puerta y en frente gratis. Hay una gasolinera justo al lado con una pequeña tienda. El restaurant también es muy bueno y los camareros muy amables. La habitación 110 con balcón y grande. Se necesita coche para ir a la playa y al centro (10 minutos). Recomendable.
Fabuloso
Este hotel y restaurante es excelente. Limpio, amplio, y decorado con gusto. A pesar de encontrarse al lado de la carretera, es acceder a sus instalaciones y dejar de oir el tráfico de la carretera. Mi pareja y yo nos alojamos en un bungalow, el cual se encontraba bien insonorizado y con paz total, pues para llegar hasta él debíamos acceder por un pequeño paseo que ayudaba a alejarse de los ruidos de restaurante, piscinas y zonas comunes. Además, como he dicho, la decoración es exquisita, y en su restaurante poseen una terraza preciosa desde donde ver todas las zonas de alojamiento. La comida, también buenísima; y la atención de todo el personal, excelente. Recomendable.

Sitio super acogedor con una pequeña barra y gran salon comedor. Menu con excelente relación calidad precio y carta variada. Hotel restaurante familiar con servicio impecable. Si te sientas a comer, te dan ganas de quedarte a tomar una copa y hablar tranquilamente en un entorno de lo más acogedor. Recomendable 100%.

Нашли отель по отзывам, решили " испытать на себе " и совсем не пожалели. Отель абсолютно в нашем вкусе. Простота " деревенского " дома в бунгало, где мы остановились, но при этом совершенно феноменальные интерьеры общих мест в отеле. Это действительно музей. Все сделано со вкусом и очень оригинально. Территория с бассейном и буйной растительностью оформлена со знанием дела. Так что с эстетической точки зрения - полный восторг! Завтрак проходил в таком интересном зале, что о самой еде мы и забыли. Она была простой, но при этом свежей и вполне достаточной для того, чтобы бОльшую часть дня прогулять на этом запасе. Персонал не очень хорошо общался на английском, но это не помешало решить все вопросы, связанные с пребыванием в отеле. В ноябре в бунгало было довольно прохладно, учитывая, что за окном было порядка +6 градусов на тот момент. Впрочем, кондей, поставленный на обогрев, + электрообогреватель во второй комнате решили эту проблему. Так что рекомендуем, если вам нравится то, что вы видите на фотографиях с сайтов, на которых представлен этот отель.

A quelques kilomètres de Tarifa et Algésiras, l'hotel est plutot confortable avec en prime une vue sur le détroit de Gibraltar. Chambre et salle d'eau correctes. Petit déjeuner satisfaisant. Nous avons diner sur place (moyen).

Excellent hôtel à la sortie du bateau du port Algeciras (18kms) arrivé tard 0h accueil excellent hôtel propre et joliment décoré petit-déjeuner très copieux Pour ma part ce n est pas la première fois, je vous le recommande !
un havre de paix
Malgré sa situation en bord de route, l'hotel est très calme, les chambres étant sur la vallée. Chambre spacieuse et très confortable, avec balcon. Belle piscine Petit déjeuner très copieux dans la salle de restaurant qui abrite une impressionnante collection de bouteille de whisky... pleine. Un très belle endroit avant la traversé pour Tanger
Decepcionante
Lugar agradable, buen servicio, todo bien hasta que pedimos un arroz con pollo de campo. Y nos pusieron un arroz con pollo de sabe dios de dónde y bien de condimento para enmascarar. Quizás a los extranjeros se lo puede meter pero con los autóctonos no cuela.
Convenient location, friendly and good value
Situated halfway between Tarifa and Algeciras this hotel is convenient for travellers to / from the Morroco ferry. Good sized rooms, friendly staff and restaurant / menu that suits most travellers. Swimming pool, good parking and views from most rooms. So good that we went back!
Un hotel con encanto
Nos quedamos anoche por casualidad y me encanto, el sitio es muy bonito y original, si bien hay que cruzar la carretera para acceder a algunas habitaciones o cabañas, tienen un túnel para hacer el paso más seguro, nosotros nos quedamos en una habitación y la cama muy cómoda, desde la terraza del restaurante se pueden observar las cabañas, tienen una piscina pequeña pero muy bonita, sin duda volveremos. Calidad precio muy correcta.
A road runs through it
Do you want a hotel that has the main Tarifa to Algeciras road running right through the middle. I am not kidding it actually does. They even have a darkened under pass connecting the two. Do you want to breath carbon monoxide fumes in the August heat, well look no further. When you can't sleep don't worry as the hotel WiFi is non existent. But rest assured you can't use your mobile as there is no signal. Of course the later is not the fault of the hotel. So when you are wide awake you can hear every word of the neighbours through the paper thin walls. So what to do? Get up early for a hike come back for a well deserved sleep, the first in over 24 hours only to find that at 15:15 they haven't started to clean the the room. If the hotel hadn't been in existence since 1954 I would actually think it was my fault. 90e a night for a 50th birthday and of course before you unpack and complain they tell you no refunds. Of course if they did give them they would be out of business. To claim in arbitration you would have to come back to Cádiz. Remember trip advisor is your friend. Read the reviews.

Siamo stati una notte in questo grazioso hotel 3* Atmosfera rilassata e Personale gentile anche se faticano a parlare inglese Bella l'area ristorante con le due terrazze (una accessibile dalla zona ristorante e una dalla zona reception). Attenzione a quando fanno il conto del ristorante: Per due drink (1 birra e vino tinto) il conto che dovevamo firmare (da addebitare sul nr della stanza) era di 91 euro, mente il vero conto ammontava a 4 euro Sicuramente un errore involontario ma meglio dare sempre un occhio Per la cena, cibo buono. 1 paella de marisco per 2, un tonno ai ferri, acqua, Coca-Cola, 1 bottiglia di vino, 1 dolce e coperto: 81 euro Piacevole la piscina Purtroppo Wi-Fi NON funzionante anche se non eravamo stati avvisati la camera (bella spaziosa con bagno ampio) era preparare per 3 persone (come da prenotazione) mente kit toilet ed asciugamani preparati per 2 persone. Ci hanno comunque portato il resto appena lo abbiamo fatto notare. Prezzo pagato per la tripla 180 euro

Espectacular
Encantador, acogedor y sobre todo muy Cuqui como diría mi niña. Sin duda para volver a repetir estancia pero la próxima vez en pareja, el entorno espectacular y la comida en el restaurante muy buena, se nota que el producto es estupendo.
Lovely hotel - very friendly staff - rural location beside a busy road
We have stayed here twice- good both times. Staff are friendly and pool area is quiet and lovely. Next to a bull ring, Drink reasonably priced- breakfast very good. It's 15 / 20 minutes from Tarifa but a spectacular drive- stop off at the Cafe on the way to grasp what Straits of Gibraltar are all about. Breakfast was top class - staff efficient and lots of choice. gardens are spectacular - hydrangeas looking good-full bloom - compliments to the gardener. Very good value.
Prima hotel
Hotel gelegen aan de weg van tarifa naar Gibraltar. Prima verblijf. Royale kamers, alles er en eraan (flatscreen tv, minibar, badkamer met föhn). Mooi zwembad om te relaxen. Ontbijtbuffet met brood, yoghurt, diverse soorten kaas en vleeswaren. voor de koffie zelfs een Nespresso apparaat.

Muy bueno, lo conozco hace años pero en mi opinión no es lo que fue, eso si mucha limpieza y el personal profesional, las viandas también buenas guardando en todo momento relaciona precio calidad. En los WC de abajo porque no hay papel higienico, esto suele pasar en mas de un sitio.
Nette Unterkunft
Das Zimmer war sehr schön, allerdings sehr schlecht gerochen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und höflich. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und war große Auswahl an alles. Das Hotel hat eine sehr eigenartigen und besonderen (englischen?) Stil, was und gut gefiel. Das Hauptgebäude hat von den Apartments die verkehrsreiche Hauptstraße getrennt, es war etwas störend, und abend fand man keinen freien Parkplatzt mehr, da war es schwierig zu parken.
Wedding celebration
We recently celebrated my daughter's wedding reception at this hotel and therefore my wife and I and most of the wedding guests stayed over at the hotel for three nights. The wedding reception was held in one of the hotel's salons and it was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The menu for the celebration was put together between ourselves and the hotel's catering staff and on the day, the quality of it as well as the level of service received exceeded our expectations. Our heartfelt thanks to Domingo and his staff for making this a truly memorable occasion. The hotel and its grounds are immaculately kept and despite being beside a busy road, it is an oasis of tranquility. Being May, the hotel gardens were in full bloom and were simply stunning. The hotel pool was now open and we made use of it during our stay. We stayed in room 126 which is one of the superior rooms located on the hotel's top floor. The room was large, with a lot of natural light and airy. The bed was very large and extremely comfortable. The room contained a flat screen tv, mini fridge and air conditioning. The bathroom was large with a normal sized bath and all the usual toiletries. Both rooms were very clean and well maintained We also had a decent sized balcony with breathtaking views across the Straits of Gibraltar. It was very relaxing to sit in the balcony in the early morning or evening enjoying the views and listening to the sounds of birds singing and the gurgling of a stream that went past the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style but again of a very high standard. We also made use of the hotel's restaurant for dinner during the remainder of our stay and the choice of food offered on the menu and its quality was excellent. All throughout our stay, the level of service given by the hotel staff was excellent. They were extremely friendly and they made every effort to ensure that we and the wedding party enjoyed our stay with them. We can't thank them enough for their service and friendliness. We will most definitely return to this hotel.
J'y passe toujours la nuit avant de traverser le détroit
Ayant plusieurs types de chambres disponibles, cette hotel a aussi un restaurant et une piscine, ainsi qu'un parking fermé. J'y passe toujours la nuit avant de traverser le détroit, ou en rentrant du Maroc. Il est confortable et le personnel et sympa et serviable.

Endroit tres sympatique bourrés dobjet anciens et tres originaux, lieu propre et convivial, chambre TRES correct avec tout ce quil faut et personnel tres gentil. Deux nuits super avec une vue exceptionnel!!
La mejor opción en el estrecho
Grata sorpresa!, es la primera frase que se te ocurre al llegar al hotel. Siendo un hotel de los de antes, de carretera, con más de 50 años.., pero bueno, ahí estábamos, tras hacer una reserva para muchos para pasar las fechas de Navidad. Y llegas y te sorprenden con una recepción cálida, con un entorno acogedor (con la luz, calor y olor de las chimeneas a pleno funcionamiento), con el cuidado de los elementos, y con un personal atento. Buen comienzo! Después las habitaciones, amplias, confortables, con buenos baños, gran relación precio-calidad. Todo el hotel en un magnifico estado, y con una decoración actual y en tonos muy agradables (nada que ver con lo que uno puede pensar de " Mesón Sancho " algo como castellano, muebles de madera oscura, tipo los antiguos paradores. Por último, la restauración, elemento importante cuando eres un grupo grande (40) que va a pasar varios días en el hotel disfrutando de su cocina. Digo disfrutando pq ha sido así, desde los desayunos con una muy buena variedad, extraordinariamente atendido por dos amables señoritas, hasta las diferentes comidas y cenas, con buen producto, buena variedad, y buen servicio. No sé cual serán las tarifas en verano, lógicamente temporada alta, pero desde luego si no se les va la cabeza con el precio, como opción a escasos 15 minutos de la playa es una oferta imbatible!.

Hotel muito bom, calmo, tranquilo com quarto e banheiro espaçoso. Café da manhã simples porem bom, atendimento também simpático. Possui estacionamento um na lateral outro do outro lado da rua. Um bom hotel relação preço e qualidade.
Qualche giorno a Tarifa e dintorni
Con famiglia ed amici in giro per l'Andalusia durante le vacanze natalizie e dell'inizio 2019 ci fermiamo in questo piacevolissimo hotel che, benchè si trovi a fianco della strada per Algeciras, riesce a rimanere tranquillo in quanto le camere sono immerse nella collina retrostante. Ci offrono un upgrade per le camere a pari prezzo che apprezziamo molto... ha una piscina (Gennaio non è precisamente il mese migliore!!), del bungalows e zona fitness ben attrezzata (provata!!)... tutto ok, dal servizio alla colazione degna di nota... unico neo " la cena "... menù non gradito da tutti e servizio assolutamente scadente!! Andateci senza remore perchè è un posto molto comodo per stare qualche giorno a Tarifa!!... ma per cena, andate da qualche altra parte... anche se, per il mio palato la zona non offre gran che!!

Бронировали отель через официальный сайт, вышло выгоднее, правда оплата сразу))) Почитав заранее отзывы, конечно мы попросили номер с видом на Африку, правда когда мы звонили в отель, нам сказали, что постараются, но не обещают))) На деле наше желание исполнили!!! Отель расположен по обе стороны от дороги. И соответственно два бассейна по обеим сторонам. Вода действительно в них холодная, но мы всё равно купались, правда ходили через подземный переход на другую сторону, там бассейн меньше и не такой глубокий, как у главного здания, это на заметку тем кто с маленькими детьми. Вид из номера главного здания потрясающий!!! Да и само здание заслуживает внимания. Так хочется всё потрогать, посидеть на очень старой скамейке, и ощутить себя совершенно в другом мире, этак на лет 100 назад))) Завтраки вполне нормальные. Ходили в ресторан при отеле, но об этом в другом отзыве))) Еще мы брали парковку в гараже, хотя места возле парковки при отеле всегда были, но зато мы увидели коллекцию машин владельца, мужчины заценят точно, но и я была в восторге!!! Ещё отель отлично расположен. Мы съездили в Гибралтар и посетили красивейшие пляжи Тарифы))) Если захотите встретить закат на пляже в Тарифа, рекомендую взять теплую одежду. В сентябре погода в этих местах меняется за час, вроде только купались, и вдруг стоишь на холодном ветру, и не знаешь куда деться, чтобы согреться. Отель я рекомендую, это место заняло особое место в наших сердцах!!!

Estupendo Hotel en pleno parque natural de los Alcornocales
Me aloje en el hotel un fin de semana y fue estupenda la decision. La habitacion muy amplia y me atendieron la peticion de que fuera una cama grande y no dos camas individuales. Todo muy limpio y con unas vistas preciosas al parque natural. El desayuno muy bueno y bien servido por el personal del hotel. Muy recomendable, pues estas cerca de Tarifa pero no estas en medio del bullicio de la ciudad. Tiene parking que es muy comodo.
Un lugar acogedor
El lugar es precioso. Las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas, tiene zonas comunes muy agradables. Se come bastante bien y tiene unos jardines y una piscina muy bonita. Ideal para comer y después pasar la tarde de relax.
Halte comfortable et reposante
Accueil sympathique, décoration originale, propreté impeccable, grande chambre avec terrasse et vue (au Rez de chaussée), nous avons apprécié la baignoire de la salle de bains. Bon restaurant. Halte reposante sur la route du Maroc.
Bonito mesón, excelente servicio
Muy agradable mesón a pie de carretera, con una decoración con mucho gusto, ambiente muy agradable. Aunque solo comimos unos bocadillos y tomamos café, fuimos extraordinariamente bien atendidos por Clara, quien nos hizo sentir a gusto y bienvenidos. Volveremos.
Hotel pintoresco, pero mal ubicado
Hotel de paso, pero muy bonito, con piscinas muy buenas. La carretera de Algeciras-Tarifa lo divide en dos, aunque con un paso subterráneo, pero la misma le da mucho ruido a las habitaciones mas cercanas, que no están nada insonorizadas. Su ubicación tampoco es buena porque queda a varios kilómetros de Tarifa.
Lieu de paradis
Très joli hôtel composé de deux bâtiments séparés par une route. Nous étions installés dans la deuxième partie composée de plusieurs maisons avec terrasse tout autour d'une piscine. Cadre superbe. Dans la première partie de l'hôtel se trouve l'accueil, le restaurant, les chambres, des maisons individuelles et une grande piscine. Nous avons mangé le soir au restaurant de l'hôtel, très bon poisson (espadon et brochettes de poissons). Restaurant où il faut compter un menu à 30 euros par personne avec plat dessert et vin. Le seul point négatif est la route entre les deux Parties qui est très passante. Mais nous avons très bien dormi. Je recommande vivement.

Det går inte i ord att beskriva detta fantastiska, underbara ställe 💕 Vilken service, vi kom fram sent på kvällen ca 23.00 underbar incheckning och info. Trots sen incheckning inga problem att få äta middag. Vilka rum!! Vi bara njuter av hur vackert det är, poolområdet är magiskt💕 ett lugn infaller meddelsamma som en kommer in på hotellet. Frukosten, maten är så fantastisk 💕 jag skulle vilja ge 10 stjärnor💕jag kan fortsätta att överösa 💕Ett MÅSTE att åka hit 😊 Tack för ett underbart bemötande trots knackig spanska 😘

Bueno pues mi pareja y yo ibamos de camino a tarifa y queriamos parar a comer entonces nos paramos en el meson de sancho por casualidad y resulta que es un sitio precioso (desde la carretera no lo parece, pero por dentro se ve bonito, la piscina, el restaurante, las casitas de la piscina. Justo ese dia no tenian atun fresco pero pedimos un arroz con carne impresionante 🥘y un filete de pez espada muy bueno tambn. Estamos pensando ir a alojarnos en el hotel unos dias!🤙🏼

Bella struttura per visitare Tarifa, Gibilterra e zone limitrofe. Struttura tenuta molto bene, in ottima posizione panoramica collinare. Locali puliti e funzionali. Personale cortese e disponibile. Ottimo sistema Wifi disponibile in tutta la struttura. Buona colazione servita in un locale pulito e accogliente. Ottimo rapporto qualità / prezzo.
Los bungalows podrían estar bastante mejor. Hotel en mitad de la nada
Estuve en el Mesón de Sancho y me asignaron unos de los bungalows que hay cruzando la carretera. Ya el hecho de tener que cruzar la carretera es molesto. El bungalow es muy simple, con un par de camas y un baño muy sencillo. Si quieren ofrecer esto como si fuera una casita debería contar con algo parecido a una mini cocina, con su frigorífico y su microondas. De otra manera es una habitación con porche y con un baño normalito, sin más. Y no creas que el porche ofrece vistas al mar. No ofrece vistas a nada pero te permite disfrutar del ruido del tráfico Cené en el restaurante del hotel (cruzando la carretera otra vez) y no estuvo mal del todo. Tampoco hay mucha opción salvo que quieras coger el coche e irte a algún lado. Y es que el Mesón está en medio de la nada, junto a la carretera

Il soggiorno in questa struttura è stato ottimo! Leggendo alcune recensioni negative avevamo dei dubbi su cosa ci aspettasse. Camera grande con terrazzo che affaccia sul parco, quindi in posizione silenziosa. Pulizia della camera buona. Colazione a buffet, abbondante e di buona qualità. La struttura si trova su una collina appena fuori Tarifa a circa 7 km, immersa nel verde. Viene divisa in due dalla strada statale ed è collegata da un sottopasso. Splendido il giardino e la piscina è completamente circondata da alberi e grandi cespugli di ortensie, che forse sporcano un pochino l'acqua ma il personale della meson sono sempre lì a ripulirla. Che dire... siamo stati molto bene e lo consiglio a tutti, prezzo contenuto rispetto al target di Tarifa. Parcheggio esterno.

La meson de Sancho est située en bord de route tres passante.. L'accès à l'hôtel n'est pas évident puisqu'il faut traverser cette route fortement fréquentée. L'hôtel est propre, les chambres coquettes mais sans plus. Très jolie piscine. Je conseillerais plutôt les bungalows extérieurs qui donnent de l'autre côté de la route ! Quant au petit déjeuner continental.. Aucun Buffet. On vous sert mais les portions ne sont pas gargantuesques... Décevant tout de même.
Perfecto calidad - precio
No deja de ser un hotel de carretera, pero en cuanto te adentras un poco más descubres un lugar acogedor, con un servicio dedicado y una zona de piscina perfecta para resguardarse del viento de Tarifa. Nos dieron una habitación superior a la reservada sin esperarlo. Solo se escuchan los pájaros y el riachuelo que cruza el terreno muy cerca del hotel. Me encanta que permitan animales. Merece la pena si quieres alejarte un poco del bullicio tarifeño en época estival.
Not really impressed
When we arrived with our bus ful of people, we were told that there were many steps to negotiate, but that there would be staff to assist. Not a staff member to be found, so we had to drag our suitcases around ourselves, which was not an easy thing to do with steps, gravel and broken tiles. The cottages we stayed in were quaint, but clean - if you do not count the ants that made themselves comfortable on my bedside table and joined me in the bed as well! The accommodation of this place was on one side of the (very busy) road, and the rest of the hotel on the other side, which could be accessed by undergound tunnel. The dining room looked very nice and the dinner was not bad. Breakfast was very strange: coffee or tea, ONE roll, one butter & one jam per person and if you wanted more, you had to pay. have never come across this anywhere else! When it was time to check out, I asked at reception if we could have someone collect our suitcases and bring them to the bus. Not a problem, we were told. After waiting for 20 minutes, we had to again drag them to the bus ourselves. So, up to you to decide whether all this is worth the hassle. I would not go back.
A charming place
I had a wonderful stay at Mesón Sancho with my husband. I cant say anything wrong, may be the swimming pool was a bit cold for me, but the rest... wonderful! Good breakfast, beautiful and comfortable room with great views, peaceful, free parking (sometimes crowded) and a bit far away if you have no car.
Inmejorable
Somos de León y es la segunda vez que paramos en el hotel. Simplemente decir que se merece un 10. Cuando entras se respira calma, tranquilidad... mucha mucha paz. El personal es altamente competente y muestra con los clientes cercanía y clima familiar. La decoración esta muy cuidada. La comida del mesón es casera. Se paga la calidad. Hay muchas zonas y cada una tiene su encanto unido a su precio. Dos piscinas (una a cada lado) el agua a temperatura buenísima y limpias. Merece la pena descubrir este lugar. ¡¡¡Nosotros el año que viene esperamos volver!!!

Своя парковка, главное здание с номерами и через дорогу номера в отдельных домиках, бассейн есть на обеих территориях, маленький где отдельно стоящие номера и большой где главное здание, красивая цветущая территория, вид из номера в главном здании замечательный - Гибралтар. пролив и Африка. Милое оформление номера. Хорошая скорость wifi. За парковку денег не взяли (было написано, что платно, уточняли у персонала при выезде). 5 мин на авто до города Тарифа.

Byliśmy tam przez przypadek bo okazało się że nie ma naszej rezerwacji w innym miejscu. Miejsce cudowne, klimatyczne, malownicze. Mieliśmy bungalow dla 4 osób. W nocy musiałam tylko wyjąć kartę do prądu bo tak huczalo ze nie dało się spać. Gdybym mogła zostałabym dłużej. Śniadanie ok podają ci do stołu.
Muy acogedor y bien decorado
Es un hotel con encanto, muy acogedor. Las 2 veces que hemos venido nos han dado una habitación con vistas al rio saladillo muy bonito, frondoso y con un agradable sonido de caída de agua. Casi todo en el hotel es madera y piedra, muy bien decorado, sorprende la bonita decoración con reminiscencias medievales, olor a flores que tienen repartidas por el hotel (nardos), hay chimeneas en las estancias públicas que ofrecen un ambiente muy agradable y acogedor. A nosotros no nos ha faltado nada, volveremos muchas más veces.
Amazing !
I stayed there in August for 2 nights. The hotel was great, had a lovely big room which was extremely clean with a swimming pool right outside it. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Its especially good if you want a quiet place to relax and switch off from everything. They have a restaurant to, so if you don't fancy going far its right there. The town is a 10minute drive which is definitely reasonable. As I have seen in previous reviews saying the town is far, well the common sense thing to do is always check the location of where your staying but what can i say not everyone uses there brain. I would most definitely come back one day and definitely recommend this place to everyone. :D
A Hotel with history and character
Stayed here for two nights in October as a couple with our small dog. Our room was spacious and clean as was the en-suite bathroom with bath / shower and tiled floors throughout. We had a nice terrace overlooking the gardens and a small bullring. I guess it would be busier during the summer months. We had breakfast and evening meals at a competitive cost and the evening menu was varied with a good choice. A small understanding of Spanish language helps but most staff understand and speak English. We found the Hotel very clean and the Spanish decor is a delight - a lot of history here. Wifi seemed good in all areas and band width fast enough to stream UK TV on iPad. Flat screen TV only has Spanish channels. The Hotel is midway between Algerciras and Tarifa on the N340 road which can be busy although we were not disturbed at night by traffic noise. Breakfast is traditionally continental which we are used to. I would recomend this Hotel and would stay here again.
Très calme et impressionnante collection de Whiskys
Idéalement situé entre Gibraltar et Tarifa, cet hôtel restaurant dispose, entre autre, de petits bungalows en bois très reposants, répartis dans un environnement luxuriant à proximité d'une très belle piscine parfaitement entretenue. Nous avons été tardivement très bien accueillis, sortie scandaleusement laborieuse de Gibraltar oblige, et avons dîné dans une salle bien décorée au milieu d'une impressionnante collection de Whiskys. Les plats étaient très bien préparés et servis copieusement, toujours avec le sourire. A recommander pour son calme, sa propreté et son intéressante situation géographique.
Excellend road hotel
Excellent hotel. Did not expect this from a roadside hotel comfort. Clean, convenient location to the center of Tarifa 10 minutes by car, greenery, the birds are singing. The restaurant tasty food. Would advise everyone you know.

Chambre 311 de l'autre côté de la route chambre sombre, fenêtre avec vue sur un talus et cylindre vert en béton.. La chambre était confortable et propre mais avec le bruit incessant des voitures qui passent.. Nous avons très mal dormi Le petit déjeuner servi à table est correct L'accueil est bon
Sehr schönes Hotel
Zunächst bekommt man kurz einen Schrecken, wenn man sieht, dass das Hotel direkt an der Strasse nach Tarifa liegt (ca. 10km vor Tarifa von Malaga kommend). Und dann kommt man rein und es ist einfach wirklich sehr schön. Von unserem Zimmer aus hatten wir Meer- und Afrikasicht. Das Zimmer ist im nautischen Stil gehalten. Das Bad sehr schön und gut ausgestattet. Das Frühstück konnten wir uns auf unseren Balkon bringen lassen. Es war sicher nicht üppig, aber es kostete auch nur 3, 90€. Vom Strassenlärm haben wir überhaupt nichts gehört.
Innamorata !!
Ci sono alcuni Alberghi dove, appena entrati si percepisce un'atmosfera perfetta.. ecco ! io mi sono innamorata della Meson de Sancho! L'arredamento è composto da mobili e oggetti d'epoca, che creano un ambiente unico, la sala comune molto spaziosa con tutta la parete finestrata che dà sul giardino tropicale con la vista sulle montagne, è uno spettacolo ! La nostra camera era arredata invece in stile provenzale e sul terrazzo c'erano due sedie a dondolo azzurre che creavano un'atmosfera davvero indimenticabile! Il bagno ampio e pulito, e il bonus del bollitore in camera La colazione è superbasica caffè pane e succo d'arancia Abbiamo cenato al Ristorante, a mio giudizio sopravvalutato. La piscina nel giardino pieno di piante e fiori è davvero bella e suggestiva. Abbiamo avuto la possibilità di vedere uno dei bungalow in muratura e se tornassi chiederei di dormire in uno di quelli! Consiglio a tutti per l'atmosfera unica che si respira..
Schönes Landhaushotel zu gutem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis
Ich war 5 Tage im Meson de Sancho und habe es sofort noch einmal fürs Ende meiner Andalusien-Tour gebucht, so gut hat es mir dort gefallen. Das Hotel ist im Landhausstil gehalten und liegt ein paar Kilometer von Tarifa entfernt in den Bergen (Schnellstraße hat mich nicht gestört), man ist trotzdem mitten in der Natur. Ich hatte einen kleinen Bungalow am Pool, inmitten einer sehr gepflegten Gartenanlage. Am Pool ist es schön ruhig. Wenn dort überhaupt Gäste waren, dann höchstens ganz vereinzelt am späten Nachmittag. Positiv: schöner Pool, liebevolle Einrichtung (endlich mal genug Ablagen und auch ein Heißwasserkocher), kostenlose Parkplätze (überdachte Garagen kosten extra), gratis Internet an den PCs in Lobby, sehr gutes WLAN, freundliche Mitarbeiter. Sehr schöner Blick ins Grüne und zur Küste. Mit dem Auto nur wenige Minuten bis Tarifa. (Mietwagen braucht man zwingend). Negativ: eigentlich gar nichts. Nur die Badewanne in meinem Bungalow war etwas oll, auch die Sonnenliegen könnten einmal erneuert werden. Insgesamt habe ich mich dort mega-wohl gefühlt. Ein unterschätztes, schönes ubd atmosphärisch charmantes Landhaushotel, das anscheinend hauptsächlich von Spaniern und Durchreisenden gebucht wird. Gute Leistung zu einem absolut zivilen Preis,
Lovely hacienda - shame about the food !!
Briefly the accommodation was much better than anticipated, but the food much worse. The hotel is on the busy main road between Cadiz and Algeciras but the design is such that road noise does not intrude into the rooms. It is full of atmosphere and although the design is from the 1950's - maintenance is good and in fact the bathrooms appear to be recently refitted. Only rooms on the ground and first floors have views over the Straits of Gibraltar towards Morrocco but the lower rooms overlooking the gardens are cool in summer - there is no air-con. but in May with temperature of 28c it was not necessary. There is a large pool (unheated) in an attractive wooded garden. The restaurant, highly rated in some guides, was disappointing to say the least with 2 disinterested gay waiters and poor but not cheap food i. e the salmon cooked in foil in the oven turned out to be simply burnt under the grill and the local fish in brandy cream sauce was served in tomato sauce with not a single vegetable!! Breakfast was coffee, juice and a toasted roll for 4.20 euros extra. The display of 800+ whiskies was impressive and the whole place reeked of unfulfilled potential. We would certainly return for the very reasonable price and situation - but eat out!!

I have just returned from a wonderful vacation to Spain which was only marred by my experience at this country motel. It was nowhere near Tarifa, but, instead, stuck out in the hills 10 km from the town. The man at the front desk who liked to argue, told me I should have known from the address it was not located in the town but located in the district of Tarifa. We argued about my having to understand physical location from booking this from the USA. We were then sent to a room across the highway from the main building which was reached by either running across the speedy highway with our luggage and pray for delivery, or go underground to a very dark, dirty, and damp tunnel which does indeed resemble a foul subway tunnel (from someone's critique). We climbed several sets of stairs (with our luggage), maneuvered around overground vegetation and located our room. I must say the room wasn't bad to look at but it was very noisy since we could plainly hear the highway. My wife took a look around the motel and I took a short nap. When I woke up, there was a stranger peering it at me from the rear window and ran off when I looked at him. I went to the desk and told the argumentative man that the room was not acceptable. I was told since I had booked the cheap rooms, this is what I was going to get. Oh yes, the wifi only worked on the side of the highway where we were not located. I was told to upgrade my room to the privileged (my word) side of the highway, it would cost me an addition $200.00 for the 2 nights. We again argued and we were moved to the " better " room for no charge. The room was definitely upon inspection, better, but just as noisy from the highway. Upon further inspection, several lights were burned out, the black out drapes were shredded and there was mold on the hems of the window coverings. The outdoor A / C units were rusty. Since there was no place to eat within a short drive, we chose to eat in the restaurant in the motel. While waiting we watched many patrons enter the restaurant look at the menu, look around, and leave. We were the only diners in the restaurant during our dinner. The food, although passable, was not very good. It tasted like something prepared and sold at a super market. Bland, boring, but edible. In the morning, we walked down to breakfast and knew it would be like all breakfasts in southern Spain. Toast with jam or tamates, juice and / or cafe. No surprises there except the toaster caught on fire and the waitress quickly solved the situation by pulling the plug and then going to locate another toaster. The second night, around 10:00 pm as we were going to bed, we heard loud shouts of balle, and ole. We went out on our balcony and observed someone playing bull fight with their son in the practice bull ring located on the property. Around 10:30 this changed to include loud music and lights. Obviously this was going to go on for a while. We contacted the front desk who had the people turn off the music but told us it would go on for another hour or so. In the morning, we got up and decided to simply leave and eat on the road. leaving the motel looked like a scene from animal house. There were empty wine bottles, glass, and traces of food EVERYWHERE in the common areas. It was a mess. We have never seen any public establishment left so filthy after an evening's festivities. If you are looking for a location that has no respect for customers, that provides moldy and shop worn rooms, then stay here. Better yet, if you have reservations and drive up the long hill from Tarifa, keep driving once you reach it. There is better down the highway.
UN HOTEL CON DEFICIENCIAS EN UNA VÍA MAL SEÑALIZADA
Es la segunda vez que me alojo en este hotel de carretera situado entre Tarifa y Algeciras, lo que me ha permitido conocerlo mejor que si hubiese estado una sola vez. Os cuento mi experiencia de este año: Solicité en mayo una habitación para cuatro noches de agosto. Me comentaron que tenían una " oferta especial " de habitación para una persona por un precio de 72 euros diarios, pero me dijeron que si quería hacer efectiva la reserva debían cargarme de inmediato, no ya el importe de una noche, sino el de las cuatro. Y sin ninguna posibilidad de devolución en caso de cancelación (ni incluso con suficiente antelación). Aunque no debí hacerlo, decidí hacer la reserva y, tal como dijeron, me cargaron el importe total, lo cual, de entrada, ya me pareció un abuso. Pero cuando llegué a la habitación (estaba en el lado de la carretera opuesto al de recepción) y la observé un poco, enseguida comprendí la " oferta especial " : una habitación amplia y con decoración clásica (hasta ahí todo bien), pero con olor a humedad, muy mal insonorizada (el ruido del tráfico era realmente insoportable y casi no se podía dormir, ni siquiera con tapones en los oídos), los postigos de las ventanas no encajaban bien y había fisuras en las paredes. La iluminación tampoco quedó exenta de deficiencias: una de las luces parpadeaba un poco en algunos instantes. Así que esto fue lo que me ofrecieron por 72 euros diarios y tras haber tenido el detalle de repetir mi estancia en el hotel por segundo año consecutivo (el año pasado me hospedé durante seis días a media pensión). Por otra parte, uno de los días de la estancia me encontré la habitación aun sin hacer a las 16 h, y tuve que comunicarlo al recepcionista, algo que tampoco me parece normal en un hotel que se supone de 3 estrellas. Me enviaron rápidamente a una empleada, pero ni siquiera me pidieron disculpas. En definitiva, tanto la habitación como el servicio dejaron mucho que desear. Es una pena, ya que los exteriores de las habitaciones son un auténtico vergel y la piscina es genial, situada en una bonita zona rodeada de arboleda y naturaleza. También salvaría la comida del restaurante, que es abundante y de buena calidad, aunque el desayuno es algo escaso. El acceso con vehículo tampoco está libre de inconvenientes. En el tramo de carretera N-340 que discurre por el hotel no hay preseñalización alguna que indique donde se debe hacer un cambio de sentido, lo que incita a acceder al aparcamiento del hotel (cuando se llega desde Tarifa) haciendo una maniobra incorrecta. De hecho, me enteré en Tarifa que ya habían multado por este motivo a muchos huéspedes, lo que supone un posible inconveniente añadido, debido a la total desinformación por parte del establecimiento. Teniendo en cuenta que todos los clientes van con coche y hacen desplazamientos diarios desde el hotel hacia Tarifa o las playas, aunque no sea una obligación del establecimiento, no estaría de más que las habitaciones dispusieran de un mapa indicativo, y máxime si tenemos en cuenta la categoría del hotel. Pero estos detalles, después de tantos años, siguen brillando por su ausencia. En resumen, lo considero un hotel de 3 estrellas al que le sobra claramente más de una. Tras conocer mejor este establecimiento, mi impresión de este año ha sido mucho más desfavorable que la del año pasado. Y no se trata solo de no pedir habitaciones que estén próximas a la carretera, ya que, dada la categoría del hotel, su precio y tanta premura en el cobro, se supone que estas tendrían que estar correctamente insonorizadas (como en otros hoteles de carretera de incluso menos categoría) y exentas de deficiencias. Salvo que mejoren el hotel, no se me ocurriría recomendarlo, ni por muy bien que esté la piscina y sus alrededores. No se puede vivir solamente de la tradición y la solera.
10km from Tarifa on a busy highway.. really disappointing stay
My husband and I spent a wonderful time in Seville before we arrived at Meson de Sancho. I had booked for a week to explore Tarifa and the surrounding areas. On arrival I was very surprised to see the hotel was situated literally just off a very busy motorway with the roar of cars which became the soundtrack to our stay. We had literally no wifi throughout our stay unless we were in the main reception. The decor is dated and tired and needs updating. DO NOT eat in the restaurant. My husband and I ate there twice and we were both sick. The menu is outdated and the food doesn't seem fresh and the staff are very unfriendly. We stayed in the bungalows and every night at 4.30am the very loud sprinklers woke us up so we didn't sleep very well. All in all a very disappointing stay and I would not recommend Meson de Sancho. There are plenty of lovely places in the Tarifa Old Town. We were willing to cut our losses and book elsewhere mid week but nothing was available. That shows how desperate we were to leave Meson De Sancho!!!
Sleep but don't eat there!
We chose this hotel since its review on the internet was positive in general. The hotel sector and lounge are quite enjoyable. A little bit rustical but fine when the fireplace is on and when outside the clouds hang down on the mountain road (from Tarifa to Algeciras). It did not harm since you don't have a view on the Mediterraneam Sea. The look out of the room window is unpleasant! The one evening when spent there the food was not good, the service was poor, the prices were excessive for such a place. We had spent the other six nights in Paradores and four stars hotels, so we had plenty of references for comparaison. The restaurant personal was not welcoming, unclean in dressing, stubborn. If no other option: May be we would return for a night, but surely nor for a dinner. I realize only now that I could have made photos. For the next review, be sure there will be pictures.
Very Disappointing
We felt the hotel was dated and the fact that the bed sheets in our room were extremely damp, didn't help. We asked to be moved to another room, but unfortunately it also had damp sheets. We were then told that all the rooms were like this! We tried to eat in Tarifa but spent 90 minutes trying to find a parking space, so decided to try the hotel restaurant, BIG mistake! The menu was like something from the 70's, and the food tasted like it had been cooked then. We checked out of the hotel at 5.30am it was so bad. Whilst we appreciate that everyone's tastes are different, I have been astounded by the positive reviews on various sites, I'm afraid I just don't share them.

I knew immediately when we pulled up to the hotel that we made a mistake by booking here. The hotel sits on two sides of a very busy (and dangerous) freeway. I had booked our room through hotels.com, but the front desk said they didn't have my reservation. I showed them my confirmation, and they said they only had 1 room left for the night (room 302). We took it, and they gave us a receipt for the booking.com price of 96.23 EUR. When we went to the room (opposite side of the freeway than the main part of the hotel), we noticed that the A / C was not working, and it was hot (30 degrees C = 86 F) inside the room. We left the A / C on for a few hours, and the temp inside the room did not budge. We also noticed that the advertised high season rate posted inside the room was only 77 EUR. We complained about the A / C and the room rate. After some haggling, they eventually agreed to the 77 EUR room rate. They sent someone to look at the A / C, and at first he claimed that it was working fine, but then conceded that it was broken (" no acceptable "), but that there were no other rooms available. We decided to stay, since we had plans to take the ferry to Tangier early in the morning, and we couldn't find any other rooms available in Tarifa online. We tried opening the windows and door of the room to cool it off (since it was cooler outside than inside the room), but when we went to bed we had to close the door, and since the windows are only on one side of the room, there was no cross-ventilation. We tried to sleep, but the room was very hot (still 86F), and the road noise was loud. We called the front desk, and they sent someone who didn't speak English to help us. He also tried to tell us that the A / C was fine, but we kept trying to explain that it was broken, and we needed a fan or something. After a very frustrating episode, he eventually brought us a fan. I still could not sleep because I was too hot (I'm pregnant, and have difficulty regulating my body temp). In the morning, we checked out as soon as we could, and I noticed a cockroach scooting across the floor as I packed by bag. The room in general was fairly clean, except long dark hairs on the floor. One other experience we had there that was odd was in the restaurant. We had a meal at the restaurant, and I am gluten and dairy intolerant. I asked the server what foods do not contain gluten or dairy, and she said she would check with the chef. When she returned, she said that they refused to say what was in the food, because they had had a bad experience with another gluten intolerant guest who apparently got sick from the food, even though they said it was ok. I ended up getting a nice piece of plain grilled fish and vegetables, which worked perfect, but was put off by the whole strangeness of their attitude - something I have never come across in all my trials of eating with food restrictions. In general, my impression of the hotel was similar to that of a dirty, overpriced, Motel 6, with staff members who speak very limited English, and are irritated by non-Spanish speaking guests.

El domingo 6 de mayo celebramos la comunión allí, " la pega más grande y la única el metre más mal educado, borde y antipático del meson. Lo demás genial un sitio para la familia, comida fantasica un buen lugar en general.
Excellent Hotel
Beautiful little hotel not too far from Tarifa. We booked a bungalow, rooms are simple, clean and comfy. Food at the restaurant is really good and cheap. I will definitely comeback at this hotel and recommend it if you want to test something different that staying downtown Tarifa. Staff very friendly and professional.

En primer lugar y antes de explicar todo quisiera felicitar tanto al personal del Camping Aloruga como al personal del hotel Mesón de Sancho que está justo en frente, concretamente a Miguel y Andrés de la Recepción, al cocinero o cocineros, a Luisa de limpieza que es la camarera que limpiaba nuestra cabaña y a Ania, la camarera polaca del restaurante. La reserva nos la hizo Nacho, muy amable y simpático!!!! A nuestra llegada nos atendió Miguel, muy amable y atento, que nos dio la llave de la que iba a ser nuestra cabaña durante una semana. El aparcamiento es gratuito y lo puedes dejar justo delante de tu cabaña. Al entrar en ella todo era perfecto, limpieza, amplitud, decoración, todo nuevo, lo que menos nos gustó que era la más cercana a la carretera y se oían un poco los coches. La situación es perfecta si vas con coche, está a unos 7 km de Tarifa y a unos 2 km tienes el mirador del estrecho desde el cual se puede ver África, Marruecos nos observaba desde allí. Limpieza, sin comentarios, más limpio que los chorros del oro!!!!! La comida en el hotel era muy buena y las raciones son abundantes y los desayunos lo mejor al empezar el día. Habían dos opciones : el de 3, 90 que incluía (café, zumo natural y tostadas) o el de 5, 90 (café, zumo natural, tostadas, yogur y algo de bollería), probamos el chuletón, la ensalada de pimientos con langostinos, las brochetas de langostinos y el consomé al Jerez que va muy bien las noches que refresca ;) En cuanto a las piscinas, el agua estaba helada, pero muy limpia y prácticamente vacía.... En cuanto al Wifi, a veces muy bien y a veces le costaba bastante Recomendaciones fuera del hotel, para los amantes del kite surf el chiringuito Best de Gisela Pulido, Pachamama, al lado de la duna de Puntapaloma hay un sitio donde salen unos vbbarros naturales que te dejan la piel muy suave, ruinas de Boplonia, Mirador del Estrecho... Por último agradecer de nuevo a todos su gran trabajpo, como recepcionista en un hotel de Valencia me fijo mucho en los pequeños detalles que marcan la diferencia Seguid así!!!!
not as good as it was
Last year I gave this hotel a really good review and we loved it so much that we returned this year. Although it is still a lovely remote hotel we were a little disappointed with certain things. Last year we had a lovely air conditioned room, but this year we had to pay an extra 12 euros per night for air-con. Also the restaurant is not as good as was. We dined twice during our 4 day stay and both times they didn't have what I asked for - one was chicken and one was hake. However, my husband had the steak and confirmed that it was just as good as last time. Still worth a visit if you want some Spanish seclusion, but probably wouldn't be top of my list anymore.

El hotel y sus cabañnas cuentan con unas instalaciones, completas y cuidadas, pero mal trato del personal. Muy lentos atendiendo, poco corteses y no cumplen lo prometido. Especial cuidado con la zona del restaurante..
1 week break with a friend in August 2014
I stayed at the Mason de Sancho in August 2014 with a friend while on a windsurfing holiday in Tarifa. The hotel itself is located approx. 7km from the old town of Tarifa and there is ample parking outside. The staff were friendly, the hotel very clean and the poolside area relaxing. Our double room had great views of the Straits of Gibraltar and North Africa. We ate here one night and both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, while breakfast in the mornings was reasonable. One downside was the WiFi strength, but this is to be expected with the remoteness of the hotel. For a 3 star hotel in this location, and at the prices they are charging, I was extremely impressed with Mason de Sancho
No volveremos
Nos dieron un bungalow y lo primero que nos encontramos al abrir la ventana fue una enorme tela de araña de lado a lado. Lamentablemente en las demas ventanas y en las sillas del porche pasaba igual. Luego nos dimos cuenta que no teniamos ni papel higienico ni mantas y cuando fuimos a pedir una manta, el empleado no pudo darnos ninguna, ya que su anterior compañero se habia llevado las llaves del almacen... En la toalla, al secarme, me encontre otro bicho enorme. El wifi prometido en el anuncio no llegaba a las habitaciones y la tele mejor ni hablar de ella. No tiene aire acondicionado, solo un ventilador... En fin, no volvere
Buen sitio con acceso farragoso
El hotelito está ubicado en una zona de gran belleza. Dispone de dos partes separadas por la carretera. La primera, lo que parece el módulo priuncipal con una recepción coqueta, y la piscina bastante bonita. Al otro lado habitaciones en casitas bajas rodeada de jardines bien cuidados. Existe un tunel que pasa bajo la carretera y que une ambas partes. El servicio correcto. Echamos en falta un poco más de limpieza en la habitación. Sólo es posible alojarse si se va en vehículo y aun así resulta engorroso por que no permite acceder a la carretera en cualquiera de los sentidos, con lo cual para salir del hotel hayu que hacer algunos kilómetros hasta un lugar donde exista cambio de sentido (o jugarse la vida, práctica esta nada recomendable) Está algo lejos de las playas de Tarifa y del propio pueblo.
Great lunch
There was the most amazing downpour so we stopped at this Hotel. Didn't know it was a Hotel - we just thought it was a roadside Resturant. There was a huge log fire, which lifted our damp spirits. The food was excellent. Have the onion soup and the beans with clams as starters. The roasted pig from Burgos is delicious. Well worth a stop off on your way to or from Tarifa.
Nice Place
We spent 8 nights at the hotel and enjoyed the stay. I agree with other reviews about the food, it was okay but would have liked fresh veg (rather than tinned peas and French fries) with my steak. Prices were okay - 12 Euros for veal, 8 for 1 / 2 chicken. Our room had a lovely view down a valley and overlooked the Straits of Gibraltar. Nice pool area with gardens and the whole place was very clean. The room we had was large with a big bathroom, veranda, TV (Spanish only) and minibar-fridge. We would have liked to have had air con though. We both felt that it was a very nice hotel but could be really good if they paid more attention to detail (if you look closely at the finish on the building work you'll see what I mean). Overall, a nice hotel which is well placed (i. e. remote - don't go there if you want bars and raves) and well priced (I liked the fact they give a weekly rate). Above avererage for what I expected and we will use it again.
Die Perle an der Landstraße
Wie viele andere hier auch bereits geschrieben haben, ist das Hotel Meson de Sancho eine absolute Überraschung für uns gewesen. Riesiges Zimmer mit Balkon, Bad mit Fenster und Badewanne und eine wunderschöne Anlage laden zum längeren Verweilen ein. Leider konnten wir nur einen Tag bleiben, welchen wir nutzten um am Pool auszuspannen. Wir haben im Restaurant des Hotels zu Abend gegessen, um nicht noch einmal ins angrenzende Tarifa fahren zu müssen (wenig Parkplätze). Das Restaurant wirkt nach außen sowie auch von den Preisen gehoben, was sich im Essen jedoch nicht ganz wieder spiegelt. Das Essen war eher einfach gehalten, schmeckte jedoch gut. Im Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis aber etwas überteuert für unser Empfinden. Beim Frühstück wird man bedient, was je nach Auslastung des Hotels zu Verzögerung führen kann. Das Frühstück an sich war jedoch sehr gut und für seinen Preis absolut zu empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder, dann jedoch für länger!
Stuck in the past
This is a beautiful but expensive Mesón. One can't help but think that they were, at one time, magnificent. Today, however, they are lacking in many areas. The room phone didn't work and neither did the lift, so to talk to reception I had to climb the stairs. I did this on at least 8 occasions due to other problems we had. When I brought up the very phone issue, I was told that people don't use room phones any more. What nonsense! I'm a massive techie myself, but I know full-well that the most fancy hotel in London still has room phones. I don't want to mess around trying to find mobile phone signal and use my credit to phone the damn reception. The WiFi signal was awful, the TV wasn't tuned in, there was no room service even though we offered to pay extra, and the restaurant food was really poor for the price. Honestly, the Duck Magret was the worst toughest most tasteless duck I've ever had, including €6 dishes from a cheap Chinese restaurant. To top it all off, they offered a measly 10% discount for all the troubles we had. Not enough I'm afraid. Oh, breakfast was very basic too. No eggs or cooked food, apart from microwaved croissants. I heard another two tables asking disappointedly for eggs too. Come on folks, sort it out!
Meglio spendere i soldi altrove
Abbiamo prenotato guardando le foto accattivanti ma la realtà è piuttosto diversa. La piscina grande è impraticabile perché sporca da aghi di pino e foglie su tutta la superficie (e non ci vorrebbe molto a sistemare con un addetto e un retino). Le camere, come detto da altri recensitori, sono umide, soprattutto il letto con garanzia di dolori al risveglio, la cura per la pulizia scarseggia, abbiamo dormito con degli asciugamani personali sul cuscino perché le lenzuola non apparivano troppo pulite. L'impressione generale è di scarsa cura e declino. Di sicuro non merita assolutamente i soldi che chiedono. Ci sono pensioni migliori di questo hotel con quasi un terzo di questi prezzi.
Shhhhhh! Let's keep it secret
This is a fantastic little hotel staffed by a lovely, warm & welcoming team, who are attentive to your every need during your stay. The rooms were perfectly serviceable, if a little " no-frills " but you are getting what you pay for. The beds very comfortable and the bathrooms were exceptionally spacious. I stayed for a week in June 2016 and didn't want to leave. The pool area was the perfect escape surrounded by lush, mature greenery.
Great place
The hotel rooms are well furnished, clean and comfortable, with a nice terrace looking at the national park, hills and the sea. They have good gym and sauna, a nice pool and really pretty garden. Staff is nice and helpful. Given the location, you need to have a car to have a comfortable stay here, Tarifa town and best beaches are some 15-20 minutes drive from the hotel.
Weekend Break
Weekend couples break, it was great enjoyed the Paella at the restaurant and the pool was great, most of the staff spoke spanish, breakfast was poor, the customer service was ok but could be better, busy road that could be distracting

We've now been 4 years in a row. Great all round. Staff have passion for the hotel. It is quite old fashioned but modern at the same time. Fabulous pool.... we just love it. Pillows are not great, but what's new!
Insomma... bella la stanza, ma… il ristorante Assolutamente NO
Volevamo andare a Tarifa, la località continentale più a sud d'Europa, ma vista la stagione gli hotel (decenti) non erano aperti e così abbiamo prenotato questo, lungo la strada arrivando da Gibilterra. L'hotel è bello come struttura ed anche caratteristico, ma certo non siamo partiti bene. Alla reception ci dicono che avevamo prenotato una stanza " economica ", ma che (bontà loro) avevano spazio e quindi ci avrebbero alloggiato nella zona con stanze migliori. Scopriamo dopo poco che l'altra zona era proprio chiusa in questa stagione per cui sapendo la data richiesta sapevano anche quale tipologia di camera ci avrebbero messo a disposizione, se poi la tariffa applicata è stata quella delle camere meno prestigiose (ed è tutto da dimostrare) peggio per loro, anche se meglio una camera occupata ad una tariffa un po' inferiore che vuota (secondo il mio modesto parere). Ma già questo mi ha mal disposta perché non mi piace chi cerca di farsi bello pensando che gli altri siano tutti imbecilli e non capiscano come vanno certe cose! Comunque la stanza era davvero molto bella: grande, con balconcino, molti armadi e altri spazi (per chi dovesse soggiornarci più a lungo), con una coppia di letti da una piazza e mezzo ciascuno. Il bagno anche era enorme il che lo rendeva un po' freddo al momento di fare la doccia, ma trattandosi di un hotel che serve una località di mare devo dire che nella stagione estiva questo aspetto non sarebbe negativo. La colazione non era a buffet e quindi nonostante il cameriere fosse disponibile a fornire " qualsiasi cosa " non è certo come servirsi da soli fra una scelta messa a disposizione. E questo per quel che concerne l'hotel e la prima colazione. Ora parliamo del servizio ristorante. Allora come ho già detto località di mare, fuori stagione, pochi locali aperti, che si fa? Per una sera si cena in albergo... e si sbaglia! D'accordo l'ambiente caratteristico, ancora con tutti gli addobbi natalizi, il camino acceso, tutte le pareti tappezzate da un'armadiatura a vista completamente zeppa di bottiglie di whiskey (una collezione davvero notevole), pochi altri avventori, ma il cameriere non spiccicava neppure una parola (non di italiano) di inglese e poi non empatico (per non dire altro). Devo dire che come primo avevamo freddo e abbiamo ordinato delle zuppe: quella di cipolle la conoscevo, mentre quella di peperone no e abbiamo avuto la brutta sorpresa che fosse a base di brodo di pollo che è una delle poche cose che davvero non sopporto; ma va bene diciamo che è stata colpa mia (ma un cameriere come si deve non dovrebbe aiutare i clienti a non commettere questi errori?). Comunque veramente vergognoso è stato il secondo: abbiamo ordinato due filetti uno al pepe verde e uno normale con cottura media e ci arrivano alti 4 centimetri che ancora grondano sangue all'interno. Il cameriere era sparito, ho dovuto bussare in cucina per dirglielo e il cuoco cosa ha fatto... ha inciso il pezzo di filetto e lo ha cotto ancora …. Ora pensate cosa è diventato il filetto al pepe verde ricotto con tutta la salsa? Immangiabile!! Infatti è rimasto intatto mentre l'altro è stato un po' più fruibile, ma comunque in quel modo troppo cotto! In pratica abbiamo pagato per 2 filetti (perché si ci hanno fatto pagare tutto) e abbiamo mangiato solo le patatine di contorno. Avevamo preso anche una bottiglia di vino della zona e una d'acqua e abbiamo speso 77, 30 euro!! Un FURTO
CENA CUMPLEAÑOS DE MI MUJER Y UNOS AMIGOS - 4 COMENSALES (16 / 12 / 17)
Restaurante: Después de bastante tiempo decidimos ir a cenar. Se reserva mesa para las 21:40 h. Llegamos a las 21:45 y no estaba preparada la mesa. Nos comentan que en unos minutos estaría preparada (sin problemas). Esperamos en la barra y solicitamos unas copas para hacer mas amena la espera. Después de esperas unos minutos para que nos atendieran y por llamada mía al camarero (más joven), éste con muy malos modos nos responde: " si les atendiendo no puedo prepararles la mesa ", con lo cual le contesto que si no le importa, primero nos sirve unos vinos y luego continua preparando la mesa (estuvimos a punto de irnos pero era la noche de mi mujer).. COMIDA: Entremeses especiales: Ni punto de comparación con los de hace mucho tiempo. Urta a la roteña: Buena calidad y bien elaborada aunque con exceso de aceite. Postres: Pudin con muy buena textura. En general, servicio regular / bajo, comida de calidad normal / alto, precios muy altos.
Tappa tour Andalucía
Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel per due notti. Si trova a circa 9 la da Tarifa, raggiungibile da una strada piena di Curve. L'hotel si divide in due parti, la zona sopra e vicino reception con camere e un'altra dall'altra parte della strada con dei bungalow. Concetto anche carino, ma si deve passare sotto un sottopassaggio non gradevole. Il ns bungalow era molto sporco sul pavimento e alzando gli occhi anche con ragnatele, aprendo il frigorifero mi ha preso un colpo, sporco con ruggine ; ovvio non utilizzabile. I bungalow sono gradevoli alla vista, ma tutto sembra un po' tralasciato. Le piscine carine ma anch'esse da tener pulite. La prima cena, essendo tardi, l'abbiano consumata li all'hotel; non era male ma i prezzi mi sono sembrati elevati così come per il soggiorno. Personale disponibile ed educato. Colazione a buffet, varia e ampia, anche se vi erano un po' di prodotti industriali confezionato, nessuna torta fatta da loro, però tanta frutta, yougurt e t.. e poi al bar possibilità di prendere cappuccino. La colazione circa 8€ a persona, ma ci può stare. Al di là di tutto, mi ha lasciata proprio perplessa la mancanza di pulizia..
Almuerzo restaurante 1 / 01 / 2018
En general muy mal, tanto el servicio como la comida... mucho tiempo para servir los primeros platos, al igual que con los segundos... los entremeses dejan mucho que desear, la ventresca era lomo de atún, el San Jacobo sin queso y muy duro, la urta a la roteña aceitosa y muy caro para lo que se ha comido... en definitiva nada que ver con lo que siempre ha sido este establecimiento, referencia en la comarca... hace muchos años que suelo ir a almorzar o cenar y como no cambie pronto, se van a quedar muy sólos... el problema es que difícilmente podré ver este cambio, pues de momento lo borro de mi agenda gastronómica... Al final el hotel se resentirá de esta caída en la calidad del restaurante. Una pena.
Restaurante
Fue la primera vez que comimos en este restaurante, recomendados por unos amigos que van todo los años y fue todo un acierto, comida abundante y bien elaborada. Lo mejor el postre, la tarta de almendra fria toda una delicia.
Schönes Hotel - allerdings etwas abgelegen
Das Hotel ist wirklich schön und die Zimmer sind groß und sauber. Das Frühstück ist gut und ausreichend. Für spanische Verhältnisse schon wirklich gut. Wenn man nicht direkt in Tarifa sein will oder muss, ist das Hotel sehr gut. Allerdings ist es mit dem Auto ca. 10min von Tarifa entfernt. Zu Fuß sollte man nicht versuchen in die Stadt zu laufen. Es ist zu weit weg. Leider spricht das Personal so gut wie kein Englisch. Das ist für ein Hotel dieser Klasse wirklich schlecht! Alles in allem aber zu empfehlen.
Hotel con mucho encanto
Este hotel restaurante nunca defrauda nos hemos alojado en varias ocasiones y siempre nos vamos pensando el volver lo antes posible, Estupenda habitación con una terraza con vista a una pequeña plaza de toro, cenamos en el restaurante comida excelente, una descoración exquisita con chimenea que hace un abiente relajante. Si tenemos que poner algun pero es la seriedad del personal del restaurante.
Retiro de paz en el campo
Este hotel nos ha encantado. Habitaciones muy amplias, muy limpias, y con muy buen colchón. Está pegado a la carretera nacional, pero las habitaciones dan a unos bosques y jardines enormes y silenciosos. Dejas el ruido de tráfico de la nacional y sólo se escuchan pájaros y el agua del río. La zona de la piscina muy bonita y grande. El personal encantador desde el primer momento. Merece mucho la pena, teniendo en cuenta la excelente relación calidad precio, el reservar una habitación superior, más lejos de la carretera y metida en mitad del bosque
Two night stop
We had a 2 night stop before heading over to Tangiers, the hotel itself was clean and tidy, The room was a good standard with clean sheets and towels, the 3 things we feel let the hotel down 1, was the 1hr + wait we were told we would have to endure if we wanted to eat in the restaurant despite there only being 4 out of 20 tables being used 2, was the over priced menu in the restaurant 3, was and the poor attitude of the male receptionist who moaned about everyone and everything and even if asked for pen and paper would proceed to complain about the cost !!!
Evitate i bungalow
L'hotel si trova in collina, in mezzo ad un bosco rigoglioso. Siamo arrivati e ci hanno inviato in un bungalow, ai margini della tenuta. Molto bucolico, ma pieno di animali, formiche, ragni e altro. Senza copertura alle finestre, se non delle tendine. Con un frigorifero che faceva un fracasso infernale ed il letto che cigolava. Ci siamo lamentati e il secondo giorno ci hanno spostato in una camera interna all'hotel, dove ci siamo trovati bene. Ma prevale l'esperienza negativa. Quindi assicuratevi che non vi spediscano in un bungalow, a meno che siate amanti della natura.
Delusione
Abbiamo scelto l'hotel come sosta nel passaggio da Gibilterra a Cadice. Ci siamo trovati da quelle parti verso sera e la scelta non era molto varia. L'hotel è diviso in un corpo centrale e in piccoli bungalow. Noi siamo stati sistemati in uno di questi e devo dire che era veramente deludente. Mobilia vecchia e decadente. Nell'armadio coperte di ricambio vecchissime che non avrei mai osato utilizzare. La pulizia non particolarmente curata anche se probabilmente con arredi così vecchi non si puó ottenere di più. Il corpo centrale ci è sembrato più curato. Ottimo invece il ristorante, cucina davvero consigliata se passate da quelle parti.
Cómodo hotel cerca de Tarifa
El hotel Meson de Sancho está a menos de 10 kilometros de la ciudad de Tarifa. Es una buena opción si quieres visitar Tarifa y no pagar los precios desorbitados de los hoteles de diseño ni quedarte en un camping. El hotel está dividido en dos por la carretera. A un lado está la recepción, la piscina, cafatería, bungalows y habitaciones más caras. Y al otro lado de la carretera están las habitaciones simples. Yo me quedé al otro lado de la carretera en una de las habitaciones simples. -Puntos buenos: las habitaciones son amplias, limpias, tienen aire acondicionado, gran armario, y un porche en la entrada. Tiene zona para aparcar sin coste adicional. El hotel tiene piscina que viene muy bien por si hay levante, y no es excesivamente caro. el personal es agradable. -Puntos negativos: El acceso a la carretera es bastante peligroso. Para salir por la noche da un poco de pereza tener que coger el coche. La decoración no tiene nada especial. Nosotros en temporada alta pagamos 80€ por habitación doble sin desayuno. si lo comparas con hoteles en general es muy caro, pero comparado con los precios de Tarifa no está mal.
Terribile esperienza
L'hotel è posizionato sul tangenziale che va a Tarifa (a 10 km di strada tutta a cuve). La struttura è datata e un po' logora, è composta da due parti, divise dalla tangenziale. C'è il sottopassaggio per passare da una parte all'altra. Camera umida, buia, scarsamente arredata. La porta si può chiudere solo tramite un piccolo catenaccio. Puzza di muffa, letto scomodo, senza copri-materasso, lenzuola cuscini e materasso umidi. La finestra da su un terrapieno. Stanza 311, una topaia. Con la muffa accuratamente coperta da un sottile strato di pittura. Senza ascensore, dalla reception se avete delle valigie pesanti dovete fare: un sottopasso, e tre rampe di scale per raggiungere la dependance al di là della strada. In camera si sente il rumore delle macchine che vanno a più di 100 km / h compresi mezzi pesanti. Pulizia pessima, capelli altrui sparsi ovunque, formiche in camera, erba alta sul vialetto, ragnatele, Questo 3 stelle ne merita al massimo 1. Servizi nulli. Manca anche il frigo in camera. Il personale è scortese, non hanno minimamente preso in considerazione le mie richieste, avevo chiesto una camera con connessione internet e letto matrimoniale, mi hanno dato una camera in dependance con due letti singoli e per connettermi dovevo fare 50 metri scendere 3 scale. E' pure caro, il posto più brutto e più caro dove sono stato nel mio viaggio in Andalusia. Il parcheggio è insufficiente. La sera ci sono anche I clienti del ristorante e si fatica a trovare posto auto. (Essendo su un tangenziale è un bel problema!) Wi-Fi inesistente in camera, solo in reception. Sfortunatamente avevo prepagato, altrimenti avrei campiato sistemazione. Evitatelo!
A great hotel to spend the night in, if you are travelling on the ferry to Tangier from Tarifa
My Fiance and I spent one night in this hotel as we were going on a day trip to Morocco the next day from Tarifa. The hotel was very quiet but it was November, this hotel is an ideal stop off point before the ferry in the morning. The hotel itself is spectacular inside, all furniture is of such high quality, very clean and our room was facing out onto a forest, river and mini bull ring! I loved the bull ring and the men were pretending to have a fight with fake bull horns! It was fantastic!! Our room was so spacious!! A very long corridor went into our room, a huge double bed, and we had our own beautiful brick red terrace looking out onto the forest. The bathroom was beautiful too, lovely creamy tiles and very spacious inside, the shower was in perfect working order! It was a very relaxing stay at this hotel. My Fiance and I decided that we needed something to eat, so we also used the hotels restaurant and I have to say it was very tasty!!! The waiter also was a true Gent! He was excellent. I got homemade chips and croquettes and my Fiance got the steak, everything was cooked to perfection!! It was a wonderful stay :)
Überraschend gut
Wir haben das Hotel spontan für eine Nacht gebucht und waren erstaunt über die schönen Zimmer, die Ruhe am Pool und das schöne Anwesen. Bei Ankunft bekommt man nämlich doch einen kleinen Schreck bei Überquerung der stark befahrenen Straße. Der Service beim Frühstück war nicht ganz perfekt, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis um so mehr.
Terrible
We booked this hotel based on reviews on Trip Advisor. It is the worst accommodation experience we have had so far on our 5 week tour of Spain. The place seems to be stuck in a 70's time warp. Mold covers the shower tiles and the towels smell rank. I actually went to the front desk to ask for new towels, the ones I received smelled even worse. Our room faced the small practice bullring. The minute we stepped on the balcony we were overcome by a strong cat urine smell. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
A pleasant hotel
We had a short stay of two days at the Meson de Sancho, it was a great experience and I would not hesitate to stay again should I find myself in that area. We had a very nice room, large and clean with a balcony that overlooked a valley of lush green trees. To the front of us was a large swimming pool, unfourtunately it was to cold to swim in but we were able to sit for a while in the sun on the loungers provided. The public areas of the hotel were nicely furnished and well kept. The lobby was rustic looking, warm and welcoming, with an outdoor area with tables for enjoying a drink. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Our only complaint was with one of the restaurant staff. We went to pay our bill for breakfast with our Canadian credit card, specifically requesting to pay in Euros, when the receipt was given to us it was in C. dollars, the hotel having added a large exchange rate. We requested to have it in Euros, she said it couldn't be done but at my husbands insistance it was corrected. We found this same problem in other areas of Spain as well.... it seems to be another way of making money off the backs of the tourist! Other than this one problem we had no complaints and were otherwise very happy with our stay.
Pleasant, relaxing - a retreat!
We stayed one week in a cottage in late September. Very scenic, clean and quiet with just a short drive to Tarifa for trips to Tangier and a bit longer to Ronda and other white towns. Traditional breakfast and nice dinners. The reception and staff were very helpful especially once we learned their names and attempted to speak Spanish. A place to relax, read and contemplate.
Good room shame about the food and service
lovely large room with double sink and separate toilet. It had a nice balcony and a reasonable view which was great until we got to the restaurant. I ordered half a chicken which wasn't massively hot and tasted like it had been around for a while. Breakfast the worst of our two week tour was awful. It consisted only of toast and when I asked for an egg we were told the cooker had broken down (really?) I tried to get the attention of the waiter (the only one) but he was a good ten minutes into a personal call and we were defiantly not his priority. We certainly weren't made to feel special here. The freshly squeezed orange juice was good the coffee was not.
this might not be quite what you expect
1) The location, despite its address, is NOT in Tarifa, but 10 km outside of any town - this means if you hope to have dining or nightlife options, you must be willing to drive. 2) The hotel is directly located on a major and dangerously winding highway, which means driving for dinner or activity other than staying put gives one pause for thought. 3) The hotel is divided by the highway. If you choose to book a less expensive room, you will have to cross the highway or walk down a flight of stairs to a tunnel and up the other side, and then go up two more sets of stairs to your room. 4) There is no wifi available across the highway. We chose to book a less expensive room, not knowing about the far-from-town location nor the across-the-highway annex. Both displeased us. No wifi in the " public area " at the annex also displeased us. A random jogger stopping to peer into our room was another concern. To the management's credit, we were given a new room in the main part of the hotel following our complaints. The grounds, gardens, pools, and common rooms are lovely and charming. The food is average, and remember that options mean driving 10 km in one direction in another on the dangerous highway. The rooms are attractive in appointments (whether economical or more expensive) and clean, but we noticed the draperies are mildewed and the balconies could do with more thorough cleaning and some fresh paint. Finally, there is the issue of the noise of constant traffic - no way around that when literally sitting on both sides of a highway. We should have read more reviews than we did, but we have to acknowledge the fact we were given an alternative room when management knew we were unhappy. (By the way, the owner was more readily accommodating than the front desk staff.) Of all the places we have stayed in Spain over a 3-week trip, this was our first disappointment.
ausreichend für eine Tagesfahrt nach Marokko
für einen Zwischenstopp anl. eines Tagesausfluges nach Marokko (Tarifa ca. 7 KM entfernt) ist dieses Hotel ausreichend; ansonsten kann ich es nicht empfehlen: - die Zimmer sind modrig und dunkel sowie die Betten schlecht - der Balkon ist von lauter Bäumen und Sträuchern fast zugewachsen - im Pool schwimmen alle möglichen Blüten und Blätter von den Bäumen - das Frühstück ist mickrig
Excellent!!
We have stayed here more than once, and always seem to go back. This small family run hotel is perfect. Just out of Tarifa town. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool area is just the thing after a long days walking in the town. The restaurant is small and has a wide rang of local dishes. We love this hotel. We will see you soon!!!
Soggiorno a Tarifa
Siamo stati 2 giorni all'hotel meson de sancho. La prima sera eravamo in un bungalow da 4 persone ed era comodo e confortevole con accesso alla piscina. La seconda sera abbiamo soggiornato nelle camere nella struttura adiacente. Beh diciamo la pulizia non era come la prima sera, abbiamo trovato un ragno fra gli asciugamani. Il personale è stato molto cortese. Nel complesso con qualche ritocco sarebbe un ottimo hotel, data anche il panorama. ATTENZIONE EVITATE, SE POTETE, IL RISTORANTE!
