Best Cafe in Halifax!
Warm atmosphere. Amazing coffee! Visited Halifax and did a cafe crawl. This is by far the best in Halifax! Proper espresso, great food. Thank you Cafe Lara!
Chic cafe central to North End
Lovely cafe with a selection of board games and ans snack choices. Great for a sit-in drink or to go, their flourless chocolate cake was so rich and delicious!

Found this gem on a family weekend to Halifax. Excellent eats, coffee / tea, and superior service. We'll be back!!

Great place to meet up!
My two daughters and I had coffees and the breakfast sandwich. Service was prompt and friendly. I had the impression that a lot of people sitting in the cafe were regulars. This is very nice place!
Friendly Service and Wonderful Coffee
I love the friendly atmosphere at Cafe Lara! A great spot to hide away and study with a great baked treat and a delicious latte!

Been in the shop before: not too bad. But this time the coffee was not hot 🔥 and tasted burnt. Also the sweets were very expensive. Will not go back unless they improve.
Nice Atmosphere - Coffee, Tea, Wine, Beer.
The vibe was quiet and peaceful, kinda like a zen moment cafe. Lots of inside seating. My matcha latte was made (very quickly) with honey, and was excellent. I was happy to see some local beers available as well as wine. They have board games etc. available for patrons too. There is a selection of baking available - it looked good!
Need to sort their fruit fly problem
Could not enjoy my drink or conversation due to having to swat away fruit flies every 20 seconds or pick them out of my drink. Gross. Such an easy problem to control, if they can't be bothered, i can't be bothered to return.
Wonderful Coffee
We are visiting the area and took a morning stroll for a cup of coffee. We popped into Cafe Lara and enjoyed the best coffees on our holiday. We also enjoyed one of their flaky lovely butter croissants. It is a nice relaxing cafe whimsically decorated.
Little love for Laura
Needs more balance between the decor and the quality of the food. Atmosphere: Simple elegance From the naked lightbulb installations to the decorative artwork for sale, Cafe Laura delivers a chic atmosphere. Feel free to play Pick-up Sticks or Dominoes while waiting. The interior is bright and airy. The front window opens onto the street on nice days. Food: Americano was slightly flat, but I still wish they'd filled up my cup. Salad was arugula and overpowering balsamic vinegar. Quiche was not filling, but had well balanced flavor. It was an expensive $10. Off to find more food.

Good Americano and an excellent butter croissant. A reasonable assortment of pastries. A few prepared sandwiches on baguettes Soup the day I was there - roasted pepper Free wi-fi easy to access Friendly staff Bright interior with windows along the front and part of one side. White walls, dark wood floor, tables and chairs - chrome stools at the counters.
Cosy vibrant spot on a Sunday afternoon
We were looking for a snack and expresso in North End Halifax - even from the outside Cafe Lara looked inviting. Best Egg Nog Latte I have ever tasted and the almond croissant with it was crisp and scrumptious. Great service - felt welcome to just sit and chat and enjoy the ambience on a grey winters day.
