Horrible customer service
Horrible experience today at this food truck. Stopped to get some fries with some friends and when I asked for lots of ketchup please. He snaps at me and says no you can not have lots of ketchup you can only have some. Handed me 2 packets of ketchup to go with his horrible customer service. Then proceeded to tell me I should have asked for ketchup before he made my fries. Will not be coming back even if it was the only thing open and I was starving. Rather eat my leather boot. Too bad I can't rate this business a 0 / 5 stars.
Used to be a great pick
Used to be a MUST stop when they had clams and chips, and the service was super friendly. Our last stop was in May of this year_no more clams, and the service was surly. They are also supporters of the Ottawa Clownvoy, so we won't be stopping ever again. There are lots of options just off of Hwy 17.
Always a place to stop..
Excellent fries and very quick service but in these days of covid, contact-less payment should be standard practice. Who wants to carry and deal with cash??
Yummy Fries!!
The BEST french fries EVER!!!!!! A must stop in Cobden. They also offer burgers, hot dogs, pogos etc. Made to order. Bring cash.
So many curds!
My husband was very happy with the poutine he got here when we stopped for a road trip. My daughter and I are vegetarian, so we went to The Little Coffee Shop down the road. The two establishments are very close together, so it worked out very well for both the vegetarians and non-vegetarian in our family!
good place
this place is good especially if you're in a hurry and on the road. the prices very fair and the food is good and staff is great. I recommend it without hesitation.
Small greasy overcooked fries served very slowly
Stopped in for lunch on our way to Bonnechere. Lots of people there so thought it would be a good spot. We were wrong. Took about 20 minutes to get a small and a medium order of fries - with maybe 5 or 6 orders in front of us. Many small overcooked crunchy pieces. Even the ones that were a decent size were greasy and tasteless. Not sure what the attraction is. Not recommended. We won't stop again.
Locals love the poutine
I don't eat poutine. The fried fish sticks from frozen and overly cooked fries were filling but not tasty. I wouldn't eat here again.
Best fries in town
The chip pit is by far the best fries in town. portions are great no one can touch thier poutine. The chicken fingers are awazing as well. lots of parking it can be very busy in the middle of summer. grab your mean and enjoy eating down my the lake.
Lunch on the way to Algonquin National Park
No nonsense roadside chip truck. The truck was single manned and he did an excellent job of dealing with a steady stream of customers. Food, though basic, was freshly prepared and poutine seemed the favourite offering. However burgers, sausage and other lunchtime standards were also available, and were substantial.

this little shack will deal up the tastiest lunch by a long shot, every time i frequent ottawa this is a must stop, !!!

Best food in Cobden. We visit frequently and never disappoints us :). Always a busy spot. Wish it was opened year round.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I love stopping here when I am driving through the staff has always been Pleasant the food is always delicious it never takes too long unless there's a big line or something and it's so close to the water
Poutine made with love!
We are at the cottage for a week, I heard about this chip stop that they made the best poutine! So I had to try it for myself, I love poutine, I only have it once or twice a summer so it best be great! I was watching the young man assemble my small poutine. He truly was making it with love! The cheese curds where so squeaky, the gravy and curds were put in half way and then topped off with more curds and gravy and fries! Delicious from top to bottom! I'll be back again this summer!
Chip Pit-AVOID!
My family ate there over the long weekend, the fries were not very good, greasy and in bits and burnt pieces for 8$, there were enough customers to justify making fresh fries and at minimum, fries that were not bottom of the barrel for the price you pay. We also waited quite a while for fries that did not resemble fries or fresh or anything. They were the PITS lol. The hot dog was fine. AVOID at all costs, lack of service and quality of food, better off going to Subway a few doors down. : (
Great Poutine!
I love to stop at the Chip Pit to indulge in one of those amazing poutines. They are worth the wait. Good value, great choice!
Horrendous
Stopped in for dinner on the weekend... Stay away... Fries tasted like 2 year old grease and the burger meat was like none I have ever tried. They are much better alternative in Cobden!
